After doing some research, I…read moredecided to get him in with Palo Alto Medical Group on Dublin Blvd. It was both really convenient from where we live and I felt like I can trust their care. I was able to get my son an appointment with Dr. Weger. Medical group is located on Dublin Blvd and Tassajara. The hospital was clean and new. They had pre-mailed me the forms so by the time I checked in, they called us right away so the wait time was virtually none. Reception desk was friendly. Dr. Weger is excellent! I could tell Dr. Weger was easy going and immediately liked how she was so gentle and sweet with my son. She was very thorough, going over everything - i didnt feel rushed or insincere. You can tell right away that she is genuine and caring. She is also very knowledgeable. She pointed out a few things that we needed to further check on and when I didnt understand something, she clearly explained and at one point even drew diagrams to explain. I am so glad we were able to see her as other doctors werent as thorough with the check ups. I am glad my son saw Dr. Weger! Definitely a fan!!!

Dr Hanson was my daughter's pediatrician for 13 years. Her father was the one who took her to all…read moreher medical appointments because he had a short commute (mine was 90+ min one way) and he had a flexible schedule. Every year since she was 4 years old, teachers would say she needed to be evaluated; she might have a learning disability. We had dedicated parent-teacher conferences to tell us about her school struggles. Multiple times every year I asked her father to set up an appointment to see Dr Hanson for an evaluation. He'd set the appointment, take our daughter and say Dr Hanson said everything was fine. Fast forward to when she was 15. A friend told me to look up adhd in the DSM5. My daughter checked every box. I made an appt with Dr Hanson and the first thing I said when I went to his office was "I think my daughter has ADHD." His answer was "Oh thank god you figured it out." Turns out my ex was lying to everyone the whole time - Dr Hanson, me, our daughter's teachers. Dr. Hanson advised me to use his out-of-network developmental pediatrician to get her evaluated, $6k. I thought it was crazy since we were paying for insurance. I called insurance and every dev pediatrician had a 1+ year wait list. Some were so full there was no wait list. Eventually, I found the in network developmental pediatrician and requested Dr Hanson send a referral to her. He reiterated seeing his out of network friend. I said this developmental pediatrician was in network. This was around March. I waited a month, called Dr. Hanson's office multiple times. They told me to call insurance. I called insurance. After a few days, it seems the office sent in a referral with my daughter's name but no developmental pediatrician's name. I called Dr. Hanson's office and they said they'd resend the paperwork. I was again advised to go with Dr. Hanson's out of network friend. Another month went by, Dr. Hanson's office told me to call insurance. Insurance said this time there was a referral to the developmental pediatrician, but there was no patient name. This reeks of gatekeeping and sabatoge and possibly some other odd dealings where physicians might be getting kickback from friends. After 13 years, I switched pediatricians. It was an absolute cluster.

She explains every single step, whether checking ears or taking blood pressure, directly to our daughter in a way that is fun and easy to understand. Last year, our experience with this pediatric clinic was very positive. We were treated well by everyone, from the reception staff to the doctor. Unfortunately, this year's experience was completely different. The clinic initially contacted me and offered to schedule my daughter's annual examination. I appreciated the call because my schedule had made it difficult for me to arrange the appointment myself. The day before the appointment, after I had already confirmed it electronically, I received another call requesting insurance information. I was in a work meeting and explained twice that I could not speak at that time. I offered to call back after 5:30 p.m. or provide the information early the following morning before our 10:00 a.m. appointment. Instead of acknowledging these options, the staff member continued asking the same questions and then asked whether someone else could answer them. I explained that I was working and that no one else was available. She then stated, "If you do not answer my questions, your daughter's appointment will be cancelled." I found this unnecessarily disrespectful. I had clearly communicated that I was willing to provide the information at a different time. No one called me back later that day, and I did not receive any notice that the appointment had been cancelled. To prevent further problems, my teenage daughter and I arrived early the next morning so that I could provide all the necessary information in person. The receptionist asked for a physical insurance card. I explained that my insurance provides only an electronic card and asked how I could submit it. Rather than offering assistance, the receptionist told me to upload it through MyChart. I explained that I did not have an active MyChart login. I had previously received only a link that allowed me to confirm the appointment using my daughter's date of birth. It did not provide access to an account, and I had never received a username or password. When I tried to explain this, the receptionist gave me a scornful look and continued responding in a dismissive manner. She requested my name and date of birth but did not clearly explain how this would help me upload the insurance card. At that point, I felt that my questions and efforts to cooperate were being treated as an inconvenience. Because of the way we were treated, I asked to cancel my daughter's appointment. This situation could have been resolved easily through more respectful communication and basic cooperation, unfortunately this clinic is evidently in lack of such 'frivolities'.

If you have a question all you can do is make an appointment online. Appointments get lost somehow. You can make an appointment, get confirmation and when you show up they have lost the appointment. Billing is a disaster. Incorrectly coded items and again nobody to talk to to get anything fixed. There is an answering service that does not receive responses and an online messaging system that also does not get answered. If you want to be able to talk to you child's this is not the one.
