Disappointed. Service: The restaurant wasn't very busy, maybe 5-6 other tables occupied. We waited over 20 minutes without a waiter before we asked someone if we even had one. A minute later, the waitress arrived, and didn't even spare us a "sorry for your wait". She wasn't personable, acted like she had better things to do, and brought the flatbread one of us ordered as an entree with the appetizer. Food: Lackluster. The Frickle appetizer was the best part, but it was small. I had the daily Mac and cheese, which was greasy and a bit grainy. Surprise, this place is open! We'd been waiting for a long time. This location has been the site of many good restaurants and it's great that One Main is continuing the tradition. We went early on a Saturday night and the place was pretty busy but we got seats immediately at the counter by the windows. Our server was right with us and we chose a dressed up burger with fries and a side salad and a custom flatbread and two 12 oz beers. Everything arrived quickly and was great. Tasty, well laid out, decent prices, perfect french fries. Was happy to get to opt for smaller beers and they have a great selection of local options. This place is lovely and was hopping with a neat combination of locals and non-locals and the big bar was doing a brisk business. Seemed like folks waiting for a table were there for a while though; I hear they take reservations. We really enjoyed the chance to be tucked away in the corner looking out at the town and chatting with our neighbors who just happened to be seated next to us. My husband and I came here tonight. The service was excellent. The poutine was delicious. He ordered steak tips and I ordered fried chicken. My dinner was delicious. His dinner was not delicious. His steak tips were undercooked, fatty, and grisly. The rice was not seasoned well and had stringy pieces in it that he had to "wade through". Pretty rough, but not terrible. First, there were only 10 people other than us at the restaurant, and it took us 40 minutes to get our food. That is way too long. Next, the Bent Hill Brewery beer that was on tap (the brewery is in the next town over) was flat. The house rub wings, which used to be juicy and crispy, were dry and overcooked. One member of our party ordered fries, and half of them were in a huge clump, which was indicative of them being chucked in after being frozen. Finally, the fish and chips, which were $16, were overpriced and overcooked, and the fries and fish were clearly cooked in the same oil. The experience was decent, however. The ambience is good and it's a fun place to eat. However, it has gone from a consistently good restaurant to a hit and miss spot. read more

My friend who grew up in nearby Bethel highly recommended this place to me. She also recommended the black bean burger and sweet potato fries. So we both had that plate! Though my burger was tasty and filling, it was dry and ended up crumbling. The sweet potato fries were solid and loved the honey mustard sauce it came with. The service was decent and the location was cute as it was in the heart of Randolph, VT. We came here for a relaxed, romantic dinner and it was just what we were looking for. Our host and waiter were super sweet and very helpful. It wasn't crowded at all but a few people were there with it being 8pm and a Thursday night. They had a wide selection of local brews, as my husband and I each did a flight of beers. We each ordered the special, the tomato soup. It was hearty and really delicious, and I'm not a huge tomato soup fan. They had a few wing seasonings to choose from as we each ordered a different one and both were really tasty. We were only here for a night, but we'd both highly recommend this place for a drink and food! read more

I've tried and tried to give this place the benefit of the doubt. I just can't do it any more. The town desperately needs a good place to eat. With one restaurant closing recently and two others burning down, the situation is the worst it's been in years. But, this place just isn't the place. The beer selection is OK, but the intense focus on the local Bent Hill Brewery is too much. It's a mediocre brewery in a crowded field of VT breweries. They seem to be fine with serving second tier VT beers, and the top names never seem to make it here. Why can Three Penny, Prohibition Pig and Worthy Burger - three places this place would like to think they compete against - be able to get so many great beers that this place can't or won't get? Yes, those other places have been in business longer, but this place seems content with being mediocre. Then, the prices are simply too high for the brews they do offer. A few other thoughts. The food is mediocre, at best, and simply fake at times. A "cheddar biscuit" one night was simply a biscuit with cheddar melted on top. That's not a cheddar biscuit. Poutine arrived with a single cheese curd and a bunch of melted cheddar. One cheese curd does not turn fries into poutine. On another night, I was told I couldn't have tartar sauce with a calamari appetizer, despite fish and chips with tartar sauce being on the menu. Last night, with much of town out of power for the preceding 24 hours, I expected crowds. But, we sat for 15 minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. We were finally noticed, and they took a drink order, after my wife pushed them to take the order. They hadn't offered us anything other than menus and a glass of water. Fifteen minutes later, the drinks arrived, and they wanted to take our order. But first, they had to tell us what they were out of. It started with buns for burgers. I stopped the waitress right there, and we left. I'd simply had enough. There is a supermarket less than a mile away. Yeah, maybe they wouldn't have been the same buns, but when you're busy, and your town has many people without power, you don't throw in the towel and stop serving burgers. You go to the supermarket, get burger rolls, and explain to customers that they are out of the normal rolls, but they are still serving burgers. Oh yeah, the burgers are overpriced as well. Well, the basic burger is $8, and that gets you lettuce, tomato, and onion, I think. Cheese is extra, fries are extra, everything is extra. I may stop in for a beer on occasion in the future. But, unless this place changes significantly for the better, I'll never be a regular. It's been a long, long time since there's been a decent restaurant in Randolph. This place hasn't changed that. The second star is as much about potential as reality. This place is a poor value and seems to be making no attempt to step up beyond being mediocre. read more

I was glad when a new place opened up. However, we are always disappointed with One Main. I love Bent Hlll beer and supporting the boys up there. What One Main charges for a local beer is obscene. Food is nothing special and obscenely priced. Service is average at best. Meh, go up to Montpelier if you want a fun crafty beer experience or just go up to Bent Hill, buy some growlers and make some sandwiches or BBQ at home. read more

Never satisfying food wise, but popular for the bar. I was waited on by the owner once and it was a terrible experience. I somehow got my super dry bean burger before food my friends got their drinks, and he never returned my buddy's change. He waited for about half an hour for his change, before he went inside and had to ask for it back. I don't think anyone really wants to tip $10 for two drinks that he waited very long for. Beef burgers never quite did it for me there as well. People enjoy this place for get togethers, because there's only really one other option in town. Food wise this is at the bottom of the list. Nice to have a new dining option in Randolph. One main has an impressive tap list, and plenty of seating at the bar. They have table service if you prefer. It is a nice hybrid between finer dining (ambiance, table service, servers attire), and a casual bar (chalkboard specials, pub food). Staff is very friendly. Will return when we are thirsty. Stoped in was starving while traveling reading over reviews was nervous to try but once in we were seated right away ordered burger and fries medium and that is how it came out also ordered the Not My Grandmothers pot pie was nice and savory and HOT wait staff was prompt and courteous was warned if wanted dessert they only had apple crisps left so we put our order in early and wasn't disappointed all in all was a good time read more

Went two nights in a row as Randolph has very limited open restaurant choices early in the week. Our first night we sat at the bar. Drinks were very good as was the chicken pot pie. My fish was tasty but a bit overdone. Very good service though. The second night the service was so slow we almost left. After our drinks came it took more than 25 minutes to get our chicken wing appetizers (it was half price wing night and the bar area was full). We had opted to dine at an outside table this time. We finally got our entrees and by then it was getting chilly outside so they did move us to an inside table. The fish tacos were good but not the best I've had. My husband's burger was OK but not great. This could be a really busy place every night but they need to improve their kitchen and server service lines. read more

When I went to One Main, it took over 40 minutes for our drink order to come to our table. We were seated by a waitress and she never came back over to our table after that. Instead, she proceeded to seat more people when they came into the restaurant. It took over 2 hours to eat and leave. The second time I went to One Main my friend and I were at the bar having a few drinks, and the Chef came out and insisted to see my friends ID. He was basically harassing her and once he got her ID he took it in the back of the kitchen and reviewed it for over 5 minutes. His approach was extremely unnecessary and rude. I did not appreciate how he treated my friend at all. She ended up feeling uncomfortable and told me she wanted to leave right away. They have awesome Spinach and Artichoke dip but they service I received both times was terrible. I am a waitress so I understand what it is like to be a little backed up and busy, but all of this was completely uncalled for. If you are to go to One Main go when it is not busy. read more

Recently I hosted a memorial lunch to follow my husband's burial service. Rachel, the catering manager, was extremely helpful. She provided the catering menu which offered a good selection of delicious dishes that I could preorder for my guests, from appetizers to desserts. Everything served was just delicious and exactly what I had in mind. The chef came out to see that all was good and described his tasty food, including the heirloom vegetables that came from a local farm. The salmon and filet mignon were perfectly prepared. I love this restaurant and highly recommend it. If you're in or near randolph, go enjoy this lovely, cozy establishment. The bar is pretty awesome too. read more

(We had fish tacos, Main Burger-served real pink for an order of medium, and Land and Air Pizza-somewhat rich/oily.) As we left around 8pm we were impressed there were folks waiting for tables. Burgers were amazing, staff was nice, but it felt a little underwhelming. My biggest problem was the guacamole, my family ordered it with chips and salsa and it came out in a small cup, $2 more for not much guac. Although the chips are very very good! I'd heard mixed reviews about One Main so thought I'd give it a shot one night, as I was on the mood for a burger and The Lyons Den was closed ( it was a Monday). It was fairly early, so there were not too many people there. The music was blaring to the point where we could hardly hear each other, the menu confusing and items overpriced ($24 for a half chicken?). While the decor was okay, I can tell people come here for the beer. Since I don't drink, I see no need to come back. read more

When One Main first opened everyone in the area was excited. Local craft beers, local sourced meats and vegetables... it was going to be great, right? WRONG. It was a disaster. We tried twice and vowed never to go back. Food took an hour to come out of the kitchen and actually made us sick the second visit. The owner apologized but didn't make any changes.
