Slid in an hour before closing; many "regulars" still there, engaging with the friendly owner. I asked the waitress if they could do poached eggs? Yes, of course. Good. Poached eggs, side of feta & spinach, toasted English muffin, to make Eggs Florentine. Not on the menu, no worries, I'll pay whatever, I'll assemble it myself. She came back to ask how many poached eggs? Two please. So excited! So hungry! So sad when I was served two fried eggs. The griddle must've been really hot, because the undersides were brown and scaly. It's why I only like poached. Waitress understood, apologized. No worries, bring me two poached eggs and I'll keep the muffin, spinach, feta. Hot eggs on top will be fine. Friend went ahead and ate his eggs. No complaints. As he neared finishing, my eggs showed up. Poached attempt, but whites not cooked completely, not even hot. So disappointing. Waitress finally came back when he was done and mine were inedible. I was just so sad. The owner must've noticed because she came over and tried to make it right. Took it off the bill. Offered me donuts. I appreciated the offer but no, off the bill was fine. It was then I realized she really cared. She went above and beyond. Put together an insanely generous bag with the day's leftover bagels & a few donuts! We left with this epic haul so when I got home I made my own eggs and had it with the most delicious bagel ever! And the donuts? Amazing! It was the end of day and the griddle person was probably exhausted but I will come back, for donuts and bagels, yes, maybe even for poached eggs, but mostly just for the hospitality. Tastykake is a selection of snack foods manufactured by the Tasty Baking Company, headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The brand was created in 1914 by Philip J. Baur and Herbert T. Morris who started out by selling their products in the Philadelphia area. Morris's wife came up with the Tastykake name and a Boston student created the Tastykake logo. The company adopted the slogan, "The Cake That Made Mother Stop Baking." Until 1941 the cakes were delivered by horse and wagons and limited to cities. This changed during WWII when TastyKake sent out their snacks all over the world to deployed soldiers. The company expanded and in 2011 was sold to Flowers Food. I found this Tastykake outlet while driving in Hollywood. Normally I try to stay away from processed foods but nothing is more comforting than something that reminds you of your childhood like a Tastykake. They also sell a selection of Nature's Own Bread for only 99 cents. Besides the usual selection of Tastykake pies, cakes, brownies, donuts, and danishes they also carry chips, crackers, Welch's fruit snacks, and other pantry items. My favorite TastyKake is the Butterscotch Krimpet first created in 1927. A box was only $1.50 and they aren't too terrible at 220 calories. I am also a fan of the chcolate cupcakes, Coconut Juniors, and cream filled coffee cakes. They even had some collaborations with Hershey's and the Garfield movie. I was really impressed with how clean and organized the store was and that they had a large selection of discounted items. Prices were so low that I was able to pick up some treats to share at summer camp. When you need to stretch the food budget and fill the snack drawer this summer inexpensively, this is a great option to check out.

When you walk in, there is no typical business store front, just an office space. The lady inside greeted me and quickly went to the back to grab my order and that was that. The cakes were indeed beautiful for my last minute order/request (I ordered about 2 days prior). The chocolate ganache was extremely rich, but yummy. There was only one lady who tried to take order, make the order, and package the order for each and every customers. There was only one lady in front of us and we waited five minutes before being able to place our orders. The lady also forgot our cinnamon roll so I had to drive back to come pick it up. The pastries tasted good. The coffees were okay. I would recommend this place to others because it's new. I am not excited to come back in the future but if someone wants me to drive them here I won't mind coming back. The bakery is located in a plaza that offers plenty of free parking spaces.
