The ambiance here is absolutely beautiful. Their outdoor garden/backyard area is such a hidden gem, with the lush tropical landscaping, fountain, waterfall, and evening lighting that create an incredible atmosphere for both guests and photography. The indoor ballroom is equally elegant and gives clients such a polished, upscale feel while still feeling warm and inviting. As someone behind the camera, I can say this venue photographs beautifully from so many angles, which makes such a difference for couples and event hosts wanting timeless images. My wedding was held at Lavan last July. To start, this venue is aesthetically beautiful, if the vine lined exterior and fountain doesn't sell you, the courtyard garden and the ballroom absolutely will. It is such a large and versatile space! Elvis, Suzana, and the entire Lavan staff were an absolute pleasure to work with. Suzana is an amazing communicator and will work closely with her brides budget, offering amazing suggestions and support throughout your experience. Suzana officiated our ceremony and handled florals via one of their preferred vendors that perfectly executed my vision. She and Elvis communicate so well and keep your event moving like a well-oiled machine. The servers were all so friendly and fun. Often caught a glimpse of them dancing with their trays as they passed through - you can honestly tell when employees enjoy and take pride in their jobs and the Lavan team is a beautiful shining example of this, that even many of my guests noted. The food was handled by Elvis with Broward Catering. I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease 2 weeks prior to my event, and we had to completely go back over the menu to accommodate my meal and make sure that there would be no gluten or cross contamination, and they did fantastic. The staff made sure that I had my gluten free cupcakes (as well as a medication that needed to be kept cool) on the sweetheart table for me, and coming up on a year later my guests are STILL raving about how it is the best meal that they have ever had at a wedding. At the end of the evening, all of the leftover cake and food, as well as our table decorations that we brought in, gifts, and any leftover favors were already carefully packed up and brought out on a cart to our vehicle with no worries about rushing around trying to remember things or assign someone else to. I was invited to a Black Tie wedding here last Sunday night. The outdoor garden lights up at night and there is a big ballroom that will hold up to 300 people Located in Hollywood west of 95 on Sterling Road, there's a parking lot in the back which is valet only. The wedding was beautiful. With over 200 people and it never felt crowded. The ballroom is big and has some amazing lighting. A lot of money put into that lighting, and it shows, it truly was breathtaking and if you're looking for a picture perfect event, this could be your place. There were a couple of things that I had to shake my head at and I know if this was my party, I would have been very upset. I've never been to an event like this where they served drinks in plastic cups, had a nice range of better liquor but didn't have any basic mixers. There was no club soda or tonic water offered and no limes or lemons. The food was your typical catered food. Nothing great, nothing terrible. It was served as a buffet and you were asked to take your plate from the table and carry it outside to be served. This wasn't someone's backyard BBQ, this actually was noted on the invitation as a Black Tie affair. Somehow without fresh plates by the food, this just seems like it breaks buffet etiquette 101, as were the paper cups with the word TIPS located at the end of the buffet, all of the bars and the end of the evening coffee bar. Personally, again, if this was my affair, I would have been mortified. This was a wedding, not a condo or bowling event. Im not against tipping but I'm pretty sure, the brides parents had at least a 20% gratuity added to the bill. read more

We had our wedding here and it was absolutely perfect. We got to enjoy the renovations that weren't there when we booked: gorgeous tile inside, beautiful patio layout, and the exciting LED screen. From the moment we began planning for our children's First Communion we had the pleasure to find Lavan Venue and the incredible people that work in unison to make not only the event but the whole planning experience easy and seamless. We originally met Elvis through Broward Catering when looking for food services for our event. Elvis offered comprehensive details about what we would need and patiently walked us through every step of the planning and services we would need to make our event memorable. We contacted Elvis at Broward Catering from the incredible recommendations expressed by our friends who had tasted his work. Our children were active participants in the selection of menu items. The selected cuisine was Haitian black rice, chicken, salmon, and macaroni and cheese. Even our son and his usual pickiness was delighted and cleared every item on his plate. The honest and down to earth qualities reflected by Elvis add to the event planning process an easy and enjoyable. During the selection I was unsure if a fruit bar would be doable but on the day of the event Elvis surprised us with a beautiful fruit table arrangement with our children's names embedded within the design. It was the many special details Elvis included that make Lavan Venue a unique and professional experience above and beyond any event venue I have seen in the past. We were blown away by the beautiful sparkle during the performance and his offering our guests valet parking despite it not being included in our selected package. While visiting Miami ,FL with friends , we stopped here for a private event that even though we had to pay a fee for entry , turned out to be a very nice gathering. This catering hall looks immaculate and I'm sure the price tag to host an event here is high one. We had bottle service which was our only option and it made sense. Not sure when I will have a chance to visit this place again but I'll be lookin forward to the next event. read more

Beautiful venue! Went for a wedding and the location was fitting for a perfect wedding memory. The outdoor terrace for the ceremony was perfect for the moment. I loved that we were able to socialize afterwards out side on the terrace during cocktail time. I liked that the doors and curtains were kept closed, that way when you were about to come in, this allowed for you to take in the beautiful decorations. Food was good, writing this review I am now craving the salmon I ate. :) Really tasty with their wild rice. towards the end the couple showed pictures of their journey that lead up to their proposals and the venue had 3 screens that rolled down for the ceiling that played a musical photo PowerPoint. Service and the food was Exquisite! The catering and venue was beautiful and spacious

Clyde and I were invited to their Grand Opening party. We had a chance to see the venue and sample their food and drinks. The party was inside and on their back patio. The inside room was large with a bar, tables and chairs, and high tops. There were also a few comfortable couches. The lighting was subdued and there were vases of fresh flowers on the tables. The center of the room had a dance floor and a small stage. The back patio had three food stations, a bar, and several tables and chairs. We sat inside to take advantage of the air conditioning and the music that was playing. They had full bars with cocktails, beer, and wine. I started with a blueberry Mojito which appeared to be a signature drink since several were already made. They were served in a wine glass and garnished with mint and fresh blueberries. Later in the evening the outside bar ran out of the blueberry mojitos but we were still able to get them at the inside bar. I went to each of the food stations. At the first station they had a nice green salad with your choice of several dressings. We had to wait for a minute while the cook finished grilling the foods. There were kabobs of chicken, beef, or lamb. They also had tofu kabobs. The beef was tough, but the other kabobs were delicious. They were making fresh tacos at the second food station. There were bowls filled with a variety of ingredients and you got to choose what you wanted in your taco. The meat was grilled chicken. Everything tasted fresh and delicious. I especially liked the guacamole, which had a slight kick. It was wonderful. The third station had another salad and a variety of flatbreads topped with ground beef or fresh vegetables. One of the servers said they were going to set up a dessert station, but that didn't happen. The service was outstanding. Empty plates and glasses were quickly removed and crumbs were swept off our table. A few times I had to hold onto my plate to save it from being whisked away before I was finished. There were hardly any lines for drinks or food, and when there was a line it moved quickly. Most important they were still serving food and drinks until the end of the party. This is a great place. My friend, who was there with us, is already suggesting that her lodge hold their next event there. I would have given five stars, but I had to deduct one. There were three children, two girls and one boy, who were chasing each other, yelling, and running. They ran into chairs, crouched behind tables, and generally disrupted the party. A few people tried to dance but gave up when these children ran around the dance floor. People were coming in from the patio carrying plates of food and they had to be careful not to collide with the children. One of the little girls fell once but picked herself up and continued running. Hey parents, this was a lovely event, but it would have been better if you had left your children at home. If you must bring them, at the very least be considerate and don't let them act like they're at the playground. Parking was free, although it was valet only. It only took a few minutes for them to bring our car. If I were planning an event I would strongly consider having it at Lavan. Based on their Grand Opening I would recommend them to my family and friends. Just thinking. This would be a great place for a Yelp event. read more

Lavan sponsored a fabulous event that featured an open bar with great tasting blueberry mojitos that were worth the trip on their own. They also had tacos, beef, chicken, and lamb on skewers-- so tender. I loved everything they had. It was a beautiful place. I don't think there was anything you could complain about other than screaming running children that the staff refused to control. I had my wedding here a couple weekends ago. My husband and I have been incredibly pleased. Lavan Catering and Events is nothing but class all the way. I cannot say enough good things about Doreen. She has been there for my husband and I from day one. From showing us the venue, answering our questions, to coordinating our needs, she showed us not only through our discussions, but also through her actions that her priority was to ensure we were happy. Doreen is wonderful. The venue shopping process was the most important and stressful part of the wedding process as it sets the foundation for everything else. I admit I am a picky person when it comes to shopping. Whether it is food or an insurance company, quality and customer service is important to me. Many places gave a lot of promises and naturally I am skeptical until I am convinced otherwise. Lavan delivers quality and customer service big time. The venue is absolutely beautiful as is. We really did not have to do much to it. We had our ceremony outdoors and our reception indoors. I loved that I didn't have to have my guests travel in between. We received many compliments on the food as well. Due to our busy schedules, we met Bruce and Doreen at Lavan's sister location in Miami for our food tasting. Bruce was great. He reached out to us to help guide us with directions and parking instructions. It was such a great touch. We ended up being late and sure enough had a hard time finding parking. Yet, we were greeted by Bruce and Doreen graciously and with apologies for the location. I think if it was another place, we would have been told to reschedule. Doreen introduced us to the chef who offered suggestions and answered our questions. Doreen wanted to make sure the food was perfect for us. We had a pretty big wedding party. Even at rehearsal, Bruce, Doreen and Alex were on top of it in helping our party get it right. I can go on and on about this venue. A gem from the moment you got out of your car. The landscape was well kept and designed, the standing attendant at the designer door welcomed us with a warm greeting. The entry way was white and spacious with a comfortable sitting area. The entrance to the banquet hall was of oh-ah for the elegance and cleanliness in the room very nice space, its is huge and open for lots of movement. The patio/ cocktail area with the fountain was so spacious as well. There is additional parking in back if venue that is well lit, oh and the bathrooms were nicely scented and clean . I just had my wedding reception at Lavan this past Friday, and I could not be happier with my decision. The food was great, hot, and beautifully presented. The drinks were strong and delicious. The staff was EXTREMELY friendly, tentative, and helpful all night. The tables and decor I used looked AMAZING with the lighting. Truthfully I have zero complaints. I worked mainly with Doreen and Alex, and if there were two people who helped defuse my crazy bridezilla moments with solutions, it was them.
