Dr. Gregory Lung is the very best at what he does, not only technically but personally. He made certain that I was comfortable throughout the procedure (extraction of 4 teeth). Once he numbed me, I didn't feel a thing! Great experience! Dr. Lung's dental assistant, Labry, was just as good. She kept reassuring me that everything was going to be okay. She too was just as caring and professional! Throughout the procedure, Dr. Lung called out what was needed and not once did he have to repeat himself. (He also kept sharing the credit of the success of the procedure with Labry each time I thanked him!) This office is located in a building across the street from Don Quijote Kaheka. Parking lot ceiling kind of low but I was able to get my Tacoma in and out without incident. Free validated parking! Overall, a very positive experience! Dr. Shaikh is incredibly skilled (Board-Certified Endodontist, Penn Dental valedictorian... no big deal! The credentials are real and you can feel it), but what stood out even more was how kind and present he was throughout the whole procedure. He talked me through everything as it was happening, which kept me calm and grounded. I felt zero pain. Not during, not after. The office itself is modern and welcoming, and the staff matched Dr. Shaikh's energy entirely, warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. Specifically, Dr. Ishikawa. Bottom line, quality care here. Yes, you will pay a lot on the day of your procedure. I guess the old adage is correct here, you get what you pay for. Especially, if you need something called the "Cone Beam CT Limited & 1". I was informed that dental insurance does not cover it, but you need to obtain the X-ray in order to proceed with the dental care I needed here. X-ray cost out of pocket is $260! Add the Consultation fee $116.90! Yowzaa! It does add up quickly. Then there is still the deductible, State taxes, and my copayment I'll need to cover. The office will go over your estimated payment prior to the procedure so be ready with $$$$. My dentist recommended that I see Dr. Ishikawa. He has a great chair side manner and Chastity, his dental assistant today, was equally as nice. Dr. Ishikawa does a great job of showing you and informing you of what dental work needs to be done. Dr. Ishikawa is also skilled at numbing your area that needs to be worked on. That's a definite plus in my "less pain is always better" philosophy. There's a follow up appointment in a few weeks. Hopefully, all will be good. I'll also need to follow up with my dentist. I see more $$$$ flying out in the near future. I keep telling myself it's self care! To have healthy teeth is to be healthy... right? There is paid parking in the Hale Pawaa building. I didn't ask if the office validated, as I was dropped off for my appointment. Bathrooms are available outside of the office. You need to request a code or key for access. What an experience.

I suffer from TMJ, so I was very nervous about keeping my mouth open during the procedure. However, the doctor and his team were wonderful and took excellent care of me throughout the entire process. I worried for three weeks before the surgery, but it was all for nothing! I was genuinely surprised by how smoothly everything went. They take my insurance (Delta Dental) and parking is in the building and they validate. I've had Marilyn clean my teeth a few times and they're alway squeaky clean after. Last night I had accidentally flossed out an old filling so I had to make an appointment to get it fixed. Dr Chen was my dentist and even though I was running late, they were still able to get me in and complete the filling and I was on my way! It had to be the fastest filling I ever had with the x-rays and filling done within 45 minutes! I got there at 2:20pm and was out before 3pm! The numbing wore off after a few hours and I don't feel any discomfort. I also only paid about $118 for the filling and x-rays after my insurance. Dr Chen was really nice and checked to make sure I was doing okay and again was extremely quick and efficient. Some people don't like the clinical nature of this office but I love it! I recommend all of my friends, coworkers and family to come here!

Parking: Although there's limited stalls, even on a busy day, I've never had to circle the block to be able to park for an appointment. That tells me plenty of how efficient the staff are when scheduling clients. Front of the office staff: They're the most welcoming when it comes to customer service. They're also your biggest supporters and advocates for people who take the time to take care of themselves. All of it is done with aloha! If you're in need of a treatment plan, not only do they give you a full breakdown of what's needed along with the estimated cost but they'll also give you finance options to assist should you need it. There's never any pressure. The Dentists and their support staff: All around the staff is just amazing. No one does anything without checking in on you and your concerns. There is no continuity of care and they will tell you you have a cavity or a crown that needs repair. Instead of providing alternative options like a good dentist (like using dental bonding or sealant for temporary sensitivity) they will just want to rip out your teeth and profit as much. Dentists here are incentivized to do more costly procedures at patient's expense.  I thought it was fine just going here for cleanings d/t convenience but it's not worth it. They will charge for the exam and xrays and when you need to go to a REAL dentist, insurance wont cover. So don't even start here. Go to a private family practice that actually cares about patients. You're not treated as a person here. My dog is treated better at the vet.

(Abscess). His cheek was swollen. We had seen his pediatric dentist at Tooth Buds (whom we also love by the way). Dr. Lauren is not our normal dentist, but she was great. She called Dr. Nishimoto to seek a second opinion in his specialty. They were able to take us the very next morning (my son wasn't in pain, maybe a 2/10). They fit us into their schedule and we were able to get in first thing the next morning. They even let us in the office BEFORE they opened to sign papers and get settled. We didn't wait long at all in the waiting room. Front desk staff were very friendly, office was clean and inviting. But my main point for the review is the CARE we got from Dr. Nishimoto. He is AMAZING with kids!!! OMG you could just tell he LOVES kids. He asked my son questions to determine what was going on. He saw my son for a follow up appt in a few days. For me as a mom, I was very worried because of all the horror stories you hear about infections in the mouth that can lead to DEATH. He was very attentive to my worry and concern. He took the time to explain to me what could be causing the swelling and pain and ruled out what it couldn't be such as mumps! I found our office visit to be very thorough. Turns out his diagnosis of what my son had was correct and my son felt better the next day. If I can remember correctly he had like an infection of his salivary glands and some swollen lymph nodes. Thank you Dr. Nishimoto and staff for the above and beyond quality care. We hope to see you again in 10 years (and no sooner) when my son needs his wisdom teeth pulled!

The man who did my fillings clearly did not care about my well being. I got 2 fillings. One of them…read morewas bothering me A MONTH later. I couldn't get floss through, and it was insanely sensitive to eat. He didn't grind down my tooth enough the first time.... Thankfully he was able to fix that. I told him about the flossing issue too (not able to get floss through and sensitivity while flossing). He attempted for about 3 minutes to basically saw in between my teeth. I asked him "what's your goal in doing this?" (A genuine question) He said "we want the floss to not break". Amazing, so after sawing for a few minutes he just stopped and looked at me like I was supposed to give him instructions on what to do next...? I flossed the tooth, and it STILL RIPPED IN HALF! He didn't try to fix it again. He just looked at me and shrugged him shoulders like he couldn't do anything else about it. I will never go back to this dentist. You would think someone who's been doing this for 10+ years would be better at his craft or at least care about his product. Honestly embarrassing for him.
