It was, appropriately, hidden away, behind the supermarket. And I had to walk right around the other side of it to get to the front door, which is at the back. I liked that a lot. It felt like finding a secret. I think Rudolph and the other reindeer would all fit in here because it is quite big, although it doesn't feel it. It still feels cosy. There's also a nice snug bit with armchairs for you and the elves. Please can I also have the pancakes with bacon and maple syrup? They were perfect; so so lovely. Fluffy fluffy pancakes, the bacon cooked spot-on and the maple syrup... oh, Santa, it was so lovely. There was extra maple syrup and it came in a BUNNY! I held it by the tail and tipped, and more lovely syrup came streaming prettily out of its little white china mouth. I loved that bunny. And it was all such good value. Please, please, please bring me The Hideaway, complete with the lovely village it's hiding in, and the Syrup Bunny, and the pancakes and the bacon. However the only one we did not like surprisingly was the carrot cake. It was just weirdly dense not cakie and like juicy its a bit weird to explain but just wasnt our favorite. Everything else though awesome and the food is just superb! I think my favorite was the vegan fry or haggis toastie if you like a bit of sweet and salty combo! If you go on the weekends however I do recommend having a booking or you most likely wont get in till later in the day. I'll miss you hideaway the best food!

If you want a classy theatre experience come and eat here beforehand, but allow plenty of time so that you can relax into the genteel atmosphere and enjoy the views across the Clyde.

It was quite busy, with the headlining band eating right among the other patrons, but we were able to find one empty table which was nice. We ordered our drinks and sat down and enjoyed the atmosphere before the concert. This is a huge bistro, plenty of seating for a meal if you're in the area (with or without seeing something on at The Beacon) and plenty of nice staff members around to help. Even though we were only here for a quick drink, a staff member came over to make sure we weren't after a meal. Looking back, it would have been nice to have a bite to eat, as we weren't able to score any solid meal after the event, only drinks. Great place, and I love the star lamps in the windows.

From an American's perspective that has been staying in Ayr on business travel 10 weeks now, eating every meal out, and following a gluten-free diet I have chosen to eat at the Stage Door more times than any other restaurant. Not only are most of the options able to be made gluten-free, they are delicious and beautifully presented. The Stage Door offers great value for your money. I have not found this level of food quality for the money anywhere else. The menu offers a great variety of options in protein choices and has elements from several types of cuisine to make everyone happy. The 2 courses for £10 menu is a steal with a better variety of healthy options (most gluten-free) than any other menu of similar type I have seen in the area. The service is friendly and solid. They are open everyday of the week. The Stage Door is right off High street (inside the Gaiety Theater) so it is a great place to take a break from shopping or wrap up your day with dinner. On that same note, be aware that all surrounding parking areas are pay lots, so you will need some pound coins on-hand. Give the Stage Door a try. It was dimly lit and quiet. Breakfast was cheap. The service was exceptional. This is where I sampled a full Irish breakfast. Bacon, sausage, baked beans, mushrooms, tomatoes, eggs, black pudding and bread. I dreaded trying the black pudding because it is made with cooked and congealed blood from cattle or pigs. For me at least the thought of eating congealed blood was unappealing but I wanted to at least try it. It's been a breakfast staple for the Irish and the British for many years. It taste like a normal sausage to me. Our lattes were delicious. The pancakes were good but tough and the french toast was basic. Their bacon is very meaty and tasty. The eggs were cooked perfectly.

On our last day in Scotland, we headed in to the town of Stirling to go visit the Stirling Castle. I came across Toast on my Yelp app, and we decided that was exactly what we wanted. GPS drops you off about two doors before the actual location so continue to walk around the bend. The restaurant sits on the corner with a beautiful window view. There are a good amount of tables for the size of the space and seating you can sit to chat or as a single that looks out the window. There is a men and women's bathroom, and inside the women's restroom is a changing station for babies. The staff was very welcoming and kind, the service was fast, and the food was fresh and delicious! What an amazing find and pick. I ordered a latte, and my husband got a cappuccino. We both ordered the same breakfast which was an omelet with goat cheese and spinach. The omelet came with a small green salad, and we ordered a side of toast to split. It was the perfect amount of food. The toast taste so much better than the states. It came with a side of butter and red jam. Maybe raspberry? Whatever it was, we loved it! The goat cheese was smooth and creamy and the greens were refreshing and just plain fresh. Everything tasted better than what you would normally imagine. Breakfast isn't my favorite meal of the day, but the day we dined here it was! The location is only about a ten minutes drive from the castle. If you are in the area, I highly recommend coming here, and if we ever go back to Scotland and are close we will definitely go back as well. I wish I could pick this place up and bring it home with me.

Saturdays are really busy so was glad I decided last minute to book a table. The menu is filled with sandwiches, bagels, paninis etc and all come with soup for £5.95 which is a bargain when you see the portions. However the most popular order seemed to be the high tea for two, which at £5 per person is amazing! The atmosphere is lovely, with a mix of couple, familes and quite a few grannies being treated to tea and cakes by their grandkids. The decor is nothing fancy, but the setting and welcoming staff easily makes up for it There is fabulous selection of Suki teas and homemade baking. Soups of the day this week were tomato with basil and potato and leek. Last wee I tried the curried butternut squash which was amazing! The setting is lovely and the food is well worth the 15min drive from Dennistoun. There is a garden centre and lovely views onto the loch so you could easily spend a few hours over a coffee, chatting and escaping city life. This cafe is a local favourite, although they welcome travellers with open arms! A mix between cafe and local produce store (think cheeses, whole milk, and some fresh fruit). Charming, very homey decor with maps all over the place. Why? To show you just exactly where the "Food from Argyll" comes from! They list the local businesses they source their produce from & put it all there on the maps for you to see. They also have a big world map & a collection of stickers, so visitors can mark out where they're from! Such a cute idea, and immediately endearing. And the food! Simple, no-nonsense, and delicious. I had poached eggs on brown toast with black pudding (great pud, I have to say!) and my partner grabbed scrambled eggs on brown toast with the hot smoked salmon (again, wow! Best smoked salmon he's had). We unfortunately devoured the meals before taking a photo, but it's reasonably priced for the excellent quality of the ingredients (though I'd love to see some sourdough bread on the menu, and some juices) and for the work they clearly put into their relationships with local businesses. Good coffee, great food, best staff ever. It feels like they love working there and love talking to you. All in all, would absolutely recommend.

My wife had the fluffy scrambled eggs, creamy, cheesy, served over toast with bacon and hash browns. This is something she gets often, and she has had none better than the ones here. The service was excellent. It's not the biggest restaurant, but the tables seem to move fairly quickly, and they have outdoor seating on warmer days. The whole experience was a delightful way to start our day. So if you happen to be in Glasgow, Scotland, you have to check out the Wilton Street Pantry, you will not be disappointed!
