However the only one we did not like surprisingly was the carrot cake. It was just weirdly dense not cakie and like juicy its a bit weird to explain but just wasnt our favorite. Having had brunch here previously, heading here for lunch was something I was excited about. It was very busy this time round so service was understandably a little slower. We did have a short wait for a table but it really wasn't long till we were seated considering it was peak lunching hour. Oh my word. Sandwich heaven. I had the bacon and mozzarella baguette with hot salsa and guacamole and it was absolutely delicious. Lots of cheese, lots of bacon, lots of yum. The restaurant recommends you make reservations, as it is a very small space, so I wasn't hopeful but luckily it wasn't busy and there were a few tables available. Service was lovely, so friendly and hospitable. We loved hearing our server talk with the locals about their day and all that. Felt really homey and I appreciated that. The food was delicious, presented well and came out super fast. We did not have to wait very long for our breakfast at all. My tea was excellent, I think it was a sea chai or something like that. Super unique and I wish I would have gotten some satchels to take home with me. The coffee is also excellent here.

This was in May of 2017. I am back visiting in Scotland and tried to order the same thing again and they said they couldn't do it. Which is strange because there is ice cream on their menu. They just gave me a regular iced coffee with ice. I also got a chewy meringue and it was delicious (pictured in the photo). I was pretty disappointed that I couldn't get the ice cream coffee however I still recommend it. It's a very cute spot and you're steps away from the water with an amazing view.

On our last day in Scotland, we headed in to the town of Stirling to go visit the Stirling Castle. I came across Toast on my Yelp app, and we decided that was exactly what we wanted. GPS drops you off about two doors before the actual location so continue to walk around the bend. The restaurant sits on the corner with a beautiful window view. There are a good amount of tables for the size of the space and seating you can sit to chat or as a single that looks out the window. There is a men and women's bathroom, and inside the women's restroom is a changing station for babies. The staff was very welcoming and kind, the service was fast, and the food was fresh and delicious! What an amazing find and pick. I ordered a latte, and my husband got a cappuccino. We both ordered the same breakfast which was an omelet with goat cheese and spinach. The omelet came with a small green salad, and we ordered a side of toast to split. It was the perfect amount of food. The toast taste so much better than the states. It came with a side of butter and red jam. Maybe raspberry? Whatever it was, we loved it! The goat cheese was smooth and creamy and the greens were refreshing and just plain fresh. Everything tasted better than what you would normally imagine. Breakfast isn't my favorite meal of the day, but the day we dined here it was! The location is only about a ten minutes drive from the castle. If you are in the area, I highly recommend coming here, and if we ever go back to Scotland and are close we will definitely go back as well. The weather wasn't the best so I found it a little stressful but we found our way there in the end! I think the easiest way to get there is via Paisley/Bridge of Weir but if you like a long drive, you could go via Port Glasgow (ahem). I'd never been to Quarrier's Village before and was keen to get out and explore after lunch but with the rain, didn't have a chance. Quarrier's is like something out of a movie, lots of open, grassy green space and cute houses. It's a really delightful area. Three Sisters Bake is easy to find at the end of Faith Avenue and is one of the most magical cafés I've stepped into in a long time. I was there for the food, but I think the decor won me over just as much. I love the bright colours and attention to detail - this is a real wonderland, the kind of place you only see on wedding blogs and Pinterest. Onto the food. We were there for a long time, so ordered loads of food - the seafood platter to share for starter, and then I had the gourmet cheese on toast. With a heavenly mackerel pate and some seriously juice prawns with chilli and coriander this was a great way to start off a long lunch and made a good size starter between two. There was also some really soft and smooth smoked salmon on the board which I scoffed up while Graeme wasn't looking. The cheese on toast was way more fancy than I'd expected and came with a smothering of rocket - probably one of my favourite green things, so I was well chuffed. There was also leek hiding under the mature cheddar which definitely upped the age limit of this cheese on toast. For desserts we had a look at the cake counter but as I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I initially wasn't fussed. That was until I overheard the waitress delivering coconut and lime tart to the table behind me. I love coconut and lime! I tried to order it but that was actually part of their wedding tasting menu, not a dessert they were serving that day. But the delightful waitress went to check, and got a slice just for me - what a gem! Service was impeccable, friendly and warm and you can tell they all know a lot about the menu and that all the food is freshly prepared. I'm not sure I've managed to do Three Sisters Bake justice, but one thing I do know for sure - if you haven't been, you really need to go!
