If you're in a rush, it might not be the place for you, since everything is done, or cooked, by hand in front of you, and there's usually only one person on duty. The first time I was there I had to wait about 20 minutes - which is unusual - but it was well worth it ... and they gave me my sani for half price. My staple is their "triple" Breakfast bun - bacon, egg, sausage, and black pud (negotiable for a bit of extra bacon if you don't like it) - too much to eat unless you're absolutely starving, so I usually get them to cut it in half for me - for less than £2.50. And not just filling, but *good*. The thing I notice most is the bacon, which is local and better than I get at *my* butcher. It's basically a take-out, so the decor is minimal (fine by me). There's seats for about a dozen people if you do want to eat, plus a couple of small (2-person) patio tables in the summer; and if you need it, the toilet isn't ritzy, but it is *clean*. Parking, unfortunately, is as-you-find it but, being so close to the station, it's great for commuters. Word of wisdom to the Sassies : If you don't specifically ask for English sausage, you might get Lorne (square, Scottish) ones. There were a lot of customers coming into the restaurant but the process ran smoothly. We all ordered various breakfast sandwiches, lattes and some doughnuts. The breakfast sandwiches were hot and delicious. The lattes were surprisingly good for a fast food restaurant. We thought that the doughnuts were all scrumptious but the apple fritter was gummy. I ordered the Chiken Ole which was chicken meat, manchego cheese, chorizo, salsa and a spicy mayo on ciabatta. The only one thing they didn't have was the salsa, which in exchange they offered me a bit of salad with some sweet chili sauce. I decided against the sauce and took the salad! What a delightful sandwich this was. My stomach is growling just thinking about it! The bread was freshly baked and so delicious, even at 2pm. The ingredients were all fresh and piled high in to the bread. I also grabbed a bag of crisps and a lemon mint san pellagrino. The greatest lunch on the go I've had in a long while. The guys in here were cool as anything and the music was great. The queues might be long but the sandwiches are worth it. It was a busy Saturday, and it took them a while to get around to our table, but then the food was quick in arriving. My sandwich was tasty and I gobbled it up, while my husband ate both our coleslaw portions and said they were delicious, and his burger which he enjoyed. Their desserts look decadent, but none were gf so I didn't even have the choice. They have a local ice cream, but it was a cold day and I couldn't picture myself enjoying it so I opted to forgo the sugar. I would certainly return, though it seems unlikely I will.
