VERY expensive. The electricians that come out are amazing and friendly. We had a ceiling fan installed. We have pot lights in the kitchen. 1st person came out, looked around the house, gave us a quote, $400. We thought he was going to install the fan, nope. We had to get a 2nd appointment. They come out, give us a different quote, $1100!!!! Supposedly the 1st guy didn't know the hole had to be moved so for $700 more to make a hole and put in a box. Plus that didn't even include it running on its own switch. So the fan and the ceiling lights all are on one switch. But that wasn't even the worst part. The fan still wasn't installed. Third time is the charm and finally it was installed. FYI, The guy who answers the phone is useless and never gives the messages to the woman that makes the appointments. read more

Avoid this company at all costs! They don't warn you when booking the appointment that there's a $650 charge to inspect the issue, then try to suck you into a $14,000 service contract (and that was the least expensive option). To boot, she left without getting the power back on! No electric, this was an emergency and they did nothing!!! The next day, Luke Electric came in, assessed the issue, turned the power back on, then came today to upgrade service to 200 amp. $4,100 NOT $14,000 plus $650 service charge. I do not write reviews as a general rule; I felt strongly that after our horrible experience with this company, prospective customers need to be warned! Show less More about me read more

I had One Call service my household needs for 6 years. I paid them thousands and had a few items ignored even though they were paid for. Brand new A/C had continuous huge problems. They sold me a reused A/C and charged me for a new one. This year A/C didn't work...they wanted $25,000 for a new one and new venting. Called another company..Compresser needed cleaning and working fine after new company serviced it for free. One Call are crooks!!! read more

I have used One Call for many projects over the years and have never been disappointed with quality, service or value. They rewired my entire house switching from aluminum to copper. I then had them install underground electric for my pool and most recently install an on-demand hot water heater. The employees are professional and respectful. They work extremely hard to get the job done quickly and efficiently without any sacrifice to quality. Tim went above and beyond when installing my on demand hot water heater; he cleaned up some old plumbing in the process and fixed other issues he observed without tacking on the price. I highly recommend One Call. read more

Great experience with One Call Electrical. The technician, Tim, was extremely knowledgable and took his time to explain the workings of our A/C units. Everything seems to be working fine now. read more

I would have given them zero stars if website allowed me to. Back in Feb 2016, we got some work done and paid them a bill of $2675. We do not hear from them in the rest of 2016, or 2017, or 2018. Now in 2019, they tell me that I owe them $105 for permit fee. The lady calling me wants my credit card number on the phone! This is a gap of over 1000 days. I have changed home; I have changed credit card; and switched to a different banks; and there is no easy way for me to go back and check whether or not I paid a bill. Even IRS requires you to keep record for only 3 years! We pay every bill in full and on time. I went ahead and paid them $105 just to avoid the headache but I find this whole thing extremely unprofessional and frustrating. if their system lost track of my account for three years how do I trust such a billing system. There are hundreds of contractors in the area who will provide good service and treat your business with more professionalism. Avoid these guys at all cost. read more

My house was all aluminum wiring, I have no basement and no attic to speak of really which I knew would make the job of rewiring that much harder. I had several quotes done and One Call came in at a much more reasonable rate and even offered me 0% financing which other companies didn't. No brainer. The guys rewired my whole house were clean, professional, on time and did it fast! When I had an issue with wire that was ran through a wall 3 years after they came, One Call came back and fixed it no questions asked and no charge. I highly recommend them. read more

I had a great experience with One Call. I called in the morning and talked with Maureen who was great! She said she was going to call me back once she found out the scheduling, as I did not have an appointment. Kevin came to do the job. Kevin was great, informative and professional. Yes, there is a diagnostic fee of $236, but it is what it is. Unfortunately, when it's 100 degrees out and your AC is going kaput you gotta do what you gotta do. Do I think it should be lower, yes. But I'm not the owner so I don't make those rules. I can only imagine what other companies may charge. I highly recommend One Call. Overall the professionalism from the phone to the technician, to getting the job done right and quick is all worth it. Thanks! About 24 hours after writing this review, my AC died again! It was on a Saturday and I called One Call back up. They were closed, but I left a message in hopes that someone would call me back as it was getting extremely warm in my house. Maureen to the rescue!! She called me about 45 minutes later, and said she was sending out another tech FOC as the issue was not resolved. Tim should up and found that the capacitor was burnt out - dead! He changed it and voila, I have AIR! Hope that is the last of everything :-) read more

I had appointment for a repair on Fri. I waited all day and no one showed up or even called. I called at 4pm and was told they couldn't make it and the would be here "first" thing Monday morning. Well here it is Monday ,after 9 am and still no service and no call. Is this anyway to run a business??\ read more

Extremely expensive. (My bad that I didn't ask the price first!) Service date 2019.08.06. Central AC diagnostic: $223.00 + $14.75 (truck/fuel fee. I paid their visit. You figure !!!) + $15.75 (Tax) = $253.50. And the fee will NOT be deducted from final repair/service fee if any. (did not go fwd w them of course!) .Have receipt to back my claim. read more

Have been using them since 2014 and am very pleased with their responsiveness, quality of work, skill level of techs and very low turnover. Very good at explaining things in layman's terms...they've addressed electrical & HVAC issues, installed a generator and we've never had problems with work they have performed. Highly recommend them. read more

I called for my father's house. Since it's December 31, they said there's a service call for $130 which was no problem. But the service call usually includes diagnosing the problem, then when Rich got there before he even did anything, he said that the service call does not include diagnosis and he charged by parents additional $260 before he looked at the problem, which by the way, was a tripped switch on the electric panel. It took him a total of one minute which included going down the basement and flipping the switch. The only reason my father could not do it was he is disabled and can't go down the stairs! My mom is still recovering from Her chemo treatment. This establishment is very deceitful!!! I would never never recommend them. To top it all off, they could not even provide my father an actual receipt. He just wrote it in a piece of paper reaped off a notebook. So unprofessional and bunch of crooks!!! read more

I called for an appointment once we discovered that the AC unit in our new home wasn't functioning properly. One Call was the only company in this area that answered the phone and agreed to schedule an appointment. Prior to their arrival, I was notified via text which included a photo of the tech who would be arriving. Not only were Kevin and Luis prompt and friendly but they took extra time during their visit to educate us about things they noticed while looking into our AC's such as turning off the outside water to prevent freeze, how fuses work and the ins and outs of our Nest smart system. This was in no way expected on our part but so appreciated as new home owners. They worked fast but efficiently, were thoughtful in their approach and their prices are super affordable. We're brand new to N.J. and our experience with One Call, specifically with Kevin and Luis has been the best of all our interactions. You have gained customers for life!! Thank you! read more

I called One Call Electrical because I needed a rewiring of an electric line for a pool. Stated it was an urgent matter since concrete was waiting to be poured and two technicians came out immediately. The technicians who came out took pictures and discussed with me what I needed done. They both stated the job was a simple one. The technicians couldn't give a pricing only the manager could. I found this out after calling back twice. It took from Friday until Monday at 5pm to get a pricing and that was after 4 calls. Needless to say the quote was quite high. When I asked for the written quote to be sent via email with a breakdown of pricing I was told it could not be done at that time, and would be sent sometime tomorrow by office personnel. Well it is after 12pm and still no written estimate. Waste of time and 5 days..... read more

Was very happy with the service in the beginning. They talked me into getting the service plan. If you sign up the same day as your service you get a discount. Sounded good! You pay 25 bucks a month and if you need them there is no charge for them to come out if it's on a weekend or (from what I was told) no charge to diagnose the issue. Again sounds good so I cancel my PSEG plan. Let them fix my AC. BOOM another issue with my AC. 63 bucks just to come look at. Told them that's ok was gonna get the unit replaced. Then my electric stove would not heat up. Called them again guys as s we can look at it. Your charge will be for the labor. Guy gets there looks and tells me the issue. 73 bucks just for that!!! Then I even found another place to service it for a lesser price and no charge for the diagnosis. Cancel my contract.!!! read more

I would have given these guys five stars but they lied to me about a few things. I had them install an outlet in my ceiling and a ductless kitchen exhaust hood. It came out fine and was done in about the time estimated. They told me they would change the plug to a twist lock receptacle when they did the work. They did not. They kept saying they would patch and put on the first layer of spackle. They tried to get out of that. I had to keep insisting they at least put the drywall back in place. I eventually got them to, but they didn't spackle. I see why, they did such a crap job cutting the hole and then a crappier job putting the dry wall back in place. I'm on coat 3 of spackle trying to make it look normal. This is in a spot you see right when you walk in the house. I'm not pleased at all. These guys also try to sell you on every little thing where I finally had to tell them I'm getting divorced and selling the house, I don't want anything, stop. Finally, while I was trying to get one of the guys to put back the drywall the other guy caused some nice sparks right when I'm standing next to him and tripped the breaker since they insisted working live (I told them at the beginning it's safer to turn off the circuit for this exact reason). So take what they say with a grain of salt and you'll get a good install. Also plan to add like a $15 fuel charge onto the price they quote. It shows up in the types billed you get mailed after. read more

Very disappointed with One Call. They showed up on a Sunday even after I told the office to send electrician out on Monday since the Sunday trip charge was $140 vs $50 on a Monday and the fact that I wasn't home. The electrician showed up 1 hour later unexpectedly. Husband let him in. When questioned he agreed to only charge weekday rate. When questioned he said there was also going to be a $227 diagnostic fee. I came home 15 min. After his arrival and asked what he had found so far and if he could give me an estimate of the total cost. I mentioned that I hoped it would not exceed $500. He became indignant and offended that I was questioning him and that it was not easy to diagnose the problem. I told him no insult was intended. He got huffy and said he couldn't work under these conditions and said he was leaving. I apologized if I had offended him but I felt that as the homeowner I needed to know how much the charges would be. He packed his tools up and left. I found a very reasonable electrician (Diamond Electric) the next day who was not so sensitive and had the job done without problems at under $300. read more

I was way overcharged by One Call. I paid $498.97 for a visit that resulted in replacing a $60 part. And this was after paying for a year's contract for $300. I loved dealing with Maureen and Mark the owner was nice on the phone but I think that to keep a customer, they could have worked with me to lower this cost. That was all that I asked. read more

I needed one chandelier moved, two pendants moved and replaced, an overhead light in my kitchen replaced and under-cabinet lighting put in. To begin with let me say, they did an amazing job. Not a wire can be seen under my cabinets and everything is centered and looks fantastic! They were polite and very clean. They even went out and replaced the under-cabinet lights because the ones I bought would not have worked as well. The only thing that I can say negatively is that the day they were supposed to show up to give me a quote and start working, they were over 2 hours late and therefor could not even begin working. They did make up for it though by working the Saturday of Labor Day Weekend when they showed up only 45 minutes late. I would say that I would use them again and recommend them, but keep on them about the timing. read more
