Jimmy, Yael, and Nadia are the bomb-dot-com! They were friendly and professional, and did a gorgeous job designing and reframing several of my and my father's treasured pieces. I am thrilled with their custom hand-crafted work. I highly recommend Once Upon a Frame-- they are worth every penny! read more

Lovely frame shop with fantastic framers! Who knew that framing was as important as the piece of art! Yael is so helpful and fun, she does a great job at making the piece a bit more special. 10 outta 10, would recommend. Thank you Once Upon a Frame! read more

Great! Highly recommended! An amazing experience from across the country! Yael was so helpful in finding us a frame that matched our print but also our personality. I'm on the East Coast and Yael took the time for a facetime to make sure we were picking out what made sense. It was a fantastic experience from end to end and I couldn't be happier with the results. I look forward to the next time. read more

I've taken 3 prints to be framed. Nadia and Elle offer personal assistance in picking out the best style for the print. Outstanding quality and customer service. Pricing is very fair and better than competitive framing chains. They even came to hang pics. I will continue to do business with the store and definitely recommend for anyone looking for custom high quality framing. read more

The one star is not for their framing (since I have not managed to get anything framed), but for their posting of inaccurate hours on Yelp. I drove there today, with a client's art in my car, assuming they'd be open until 3pm, like the hours indicate above. I found a closed-up store with a chalk sign saying "we are open some Saturdays." I guess this was not one of the chosen Saturdays. So, if you hope to get something framed, don't trust the hours listed, and call ahead. read more

These folks don't just do custom frame work of the highest order: they act as the full creative partners of the artists and artisans who create the work in the first place. I count Yael and Jimmy as co-creators in setting the pictures and pieces their clientele bring them. A new life is created by their artistry that articulates not just the work being framed but the personality and aesthetics of the work's owner. If you treasure your artwork, then there is no serious choice other than Once Upon a Frame. They are simply the best. read more

I have been going to Once Upon A Frame for several years. Yael, Nadia and Jimmy always surprise me with their creativity and enthusiasm for what they do. They've framed everything for me from photos, original artwork, flags and even a baby bonnet and shoes from 1928 that belonged to my Mom. The unique selection of moulding make selecting the 'right frame' part of the fun. The frame becomes part of the finished piece and not just a way to put it behind glass. People remark on the artwork in my home and I'm always anxious to give the credit to Once Upon A Frame. (They should have extra stars for this rating!) read more

Yael is awesome. I had some neat posters that I needed framed on a budget for my bar and I didn't have the time to think about frames or colors. I just told her my budget and she took care of the rest, really happy with the final product too! Looks great!! And she will deliver and hang your piece?? NICE! What more could you ask for in a frame shop?? Thanks Yael! read more

I couldn't be happier with the service that I received and the help from the Once Upon a Frame Team. Nadia, Yael, and Jimmy were fantastic. I had recently bought an autographed worls series picture and wanted it to stand out. They made sure it did with the fantastic frame they picked out as well as the non-reflective glass! (It's more $$ but absolutely worth it !). I would recommend them to anyone and wouldn't go anywhere else in the future for my framing needs! read more

Yael helped me frame two Kevin Connors photographs of my family. They rock the house! I get so many compliments on the photograph AND the frame! Once we had begun talking frames, I mentioned I had a lot of framed things waiting to go on a wall...this led to Yael coming over to hang things with artistic ability! (A service for which I gladly paid her) My whole house was perked up! Later, I inherited an oil painting from 1854. It was an oil painting in a frame - no glass. Yael helped me get the right "museum" glass for this beautiful old thing that was definitely in need of protection from my nerf gun weilding children. I really can't believe I didn't come straight to Yelp and review them. It's been a while since all the above happened. My friend just asked me for the name of my framer so I googled it and landed on this yelp page. Then I started looking at the reviews. There's no way you could give these guys less than 5 stars. That's an impossible thing to say, but it's true. It just is. read more

i have used this company several times, and would not go anywhere else to have framing done. Several members of my family have used them and love everything they have done. They have an eye for every picture and will make a work of art out of anything. I cannot design anything, so i leave it up to them, and every piece is a treasure. also, I love the people that own and work there. read more

If you have something special or unique that you want framed, this is the place to go. Jim, Yael and Nadia at Once Upon a Frame are simply the best at what they do. I had a very valuable piece of signed art that I wanted framed - their work was simply amazing. The attention to detail and service level overall was unmatched. Yael has a very creative / unique ability to understand what the client wants while also guiding to the right aesthetic for the work. JIm is not just a framer but a craftsman, who's work is truly unparalleled when it comes to finish and detail. The best part is they are just good people too.... read more

Beautiful work, high quality and understanding of art is superb.

Amazing! If i could give 10 stars I would. I recently had two pieces framed; one which is a vintage Hollywood jacket worn by a legendary actress in the 1940's and another a rifle passed down to us by a relative. Both were meticulously framed in plexi-glass and painsakingly worked by Yael and Nadia. Yael is a true artist. She fusses over every detail - kept me apprised of how she was working with the pieces. These are treasures of ours and we can't thank them enough for how they treated us as well as our mementos. We will be back! read more

Exceptional. I had three antique prints framed and the team at Once Upon A Frame completely went above and beyond my expectations in their work. What was so amazing is that when I went home and looked even more closely at the frames, all the little details that make a high quality product started to pop out to me. They are aware of the overall impact of a frame as well as the little details that make it unique and special. This is a sign of superior craftsmanship and thoughtfulness. If you would like a product that is designed and executed with creativity, thoughtfulness, attention to detail, high quality materials, and integrity--you would be wise to go to Once Upon A Frame read more

Truly remarkable experience today with Jimmy at Once Upon A Frame. I called them up with a few frames that needed hanging wires swapped out/repaired. It was a simple job that I could've done myself but I wanted it done professionally.....meaning I wanted it done right. Jimmy said to bring them on in and he'd get it taken care of in a few minutes. Well, he ended up spending 20 minutes with me......adding in some support plates for the frame, re-drilling holes, and re-attaching new hanging wires. The superior quality of his work was evident. When I asked him how much I owed him he said "nothing". I insisted that I give him something for his time and help. He simply wouldn't take a penny from me. I felt like I had stepped back to a different era when genuine care for the customer was the norm, and conscious attention to quality workmanship was the highest value. I left feeling like I can't wait to take new framing projects to these guys and to send friends their way. Oh, and I didn't even get a chance to meet Yael who everyone here raves on about. You won't be disappointed with Once Upon A Frame. There's a reason these guys have 5-stars across the board. read more

I have used Once Upon A Frame for various projects over the past 6 months. They are amazing. They specialize in Family Walls as well as unique frames they create to compliment the image. The family wall Yael finished this week in my office is beautiful. She helped me organize and create a special place. And she hung all the frames with a perfect eye. Our large pieces that they have framed are breathtaking. The frames are different and have transformed our art into stunning pieces. This is the frame shop if you want something special. 5 stars all the way and then some! L Smith Solana Beach read more

Once upon a frame is amazing, and Yael is even more amazing. She is truly passionate about what she does and her enthusiasm is infectious. We asked her to frame a mosaic for our nursery school, and she offered to drive down to the location to see it there and brought over a bunch of samples. She was also incredibly kind and generous on the pricing and she helped us get an AMAZING deal on a one of a kind frame. read more

I referred to Once Upon A Frame by a friend and they did an amazing job. I worked with Nadia and she was so great during the entire process. I fell in love with a closed corner frame that was discontinued and they went above and beyond to find another manufacturer who could make the frame for me. And to boot, they did all of this during the holiday season and got the frame to me so quickly. I used to work as a custom framer and am VERY picky and I was blown away at how great of a job they did. I would recommend anyone to use them. Their price point is very reasonable and they were very helpful in getting me both the look and the price that I wanted. I will not go anywhere else to frame, these guys are the best! read more

I was having a real crisis. I had a frame made to fit a 36" x 48" canvas with a museum wrap at another company. The rabbet was only 1/2" for the 1.5" canvas so there was a problem how to make it work. I called Once Upon A Frame, made an appointment for the next day and they solved the problem in less than 20 minutes. They are wonderful. read more

Wow! So impressed by the whole experience. Framing is truly an art. Had a ton of fun picking out frame designs with the staff. While I totally lack the ability to mix and match colors and textures, I have a very definite idea of what I like ... and what I don't. They listened, offered me suggestions ... and put together amazing pieces for three cherished pieces of art. They turned three so-so pieces (that meant a lot to me) ... into three eye catching show stoppers. What was even better is that they came to my house and saved me the horror of trying to hang them myself. They knew just what to do. Artistic, creative and professional through the whole process. Can't recommend them highly enough ... read more

I delivered a bag of hundreds of broken pieces of a large gilded Art Nouveau frame in pieces, expecting Once-Upon-A-Frame to shake their heads and say "It's beyond repair." Instead, with her characteristic good humor and heart-warming smile, resourceful Yael took the pieces and within just a few days glued everything back that she could and puttied in whatever was needed, complete with re-gilding, and the antique frame, while still worn with age, can proudly hang on the wall once again thanks to Once-Upon-A-Frame! Awesome job Yael, I'll definitely be back! read more

Fabulous work! Yael and Nadia are wonderful and fun to work with! They are truly professional, and efficient. I love how they tackle projects as a team and with an unique and creative approach to the framing, as well as the installation. They just completed two projects in my home, and also turned around an unattractive hallway of kids portraits into a pleasing display in less then 10 minutes. The first project features art from my elementary school age children. We now we have a happy wall in our family room! The second project was the framing and installation of colorful artwork of South American Indians. They brought this artwork to life that was held hostage for nearly 40 years, originally from my parents South American tour in the 70's. Now we have completed 3.5 unique projects that are unique, playful and catchy that brings delight to all that enter our home. I can't wait to embark on our next amazing adventure together! read more
