Gave it a 2 because I didn't have an issue with customer service or the selection of products at the Raleigh Store. My issues was the wait time and paid price for my items. I went twice last week to drop off. Store rep said it would be about an hour. The first time I dropped it off about 1230pm and I had to call which was about 4pm to see what was taking so long. They informed me I can come get my stuff. I gave them 2 bins of clothing and a bag of shoes (10 pairs). I received $45 and they took 3/4ths of everything. The second time I dropped off about 130pm and my items weren't ready until 630pm. I gave them 2 totes. One with clothes and the other with about 6 coats. A bag of shoes (10pairs) and 11 baby items. They kept 5 coats, majority of the clothes, 6 pairs of shoes, playpen, stroller not the cheap one either, diaper genie, push and go toy, tub with thermometer reading, and high chair. They gave me $64.13 which is high way robbery. The baby items was more than that alone but you take what you can get because it beats it being in storage and not getting any money. I will be going back to see how much they charging others for something they paid mere pennies for. It'll probably be gone but I thought I needed to write this review so other Moms know you won't be getting much for your items regardless how well kept they are or there worth. read more

I came in right after opening and 4 staff members were at the desk gossiping and not one said hello, welcome, or good morning! They act like they don't want you in there shopping and I don't understand it. Then when I went to check out, no one was near the register. When I checked out the lady said absolutely nothing! Didn't even allow me to put in my phone number for the points. I Just a bunch of rude unprofessional miserable folks. I went there with my mom and we dropped off some clothes that didn't fit me anymore and I was expecting a good amount but guess what I got 8.50$ for what looked like maybe 8 items so like 1$ a item. Overall a very unpleasant experience at this store. The way the workers conducted themselves towards us was rude and dismissive, I couldn't stand seeing them act that way towards us. We tried to be kind and compassionate to them, but they had a certain attitude about them that I could not stand. The fact that this place even gets business shocks me. They offered us pennies on the dollar for prized items that any kid would be lucky to have as their own. 10 cents for an encyclopedia that we paid $35 for? That just isn't at all ethical, to be offering so little. They say that they have no control over the selling prices, but they design the computer system that generates those prices. They seem to care more about preserving their profit margins than helping out those little kids in need. A couple of months back I visited this location with a close friend of mine and had a great experience. Given that experience, I decided to return today and see what I could find for my little one on the way. While in store, I unfortunately felt like I had to go to the bathroom. It happens when you are nine months pregnant lol! I went up to the front since the door of the bathroom was locked and asked if I could have access. The woman behind the counter said that it wasn't a public restroom. Even though I didn't see a sign saying otherwise, and didn't understand why I just couldn't go relieve myself--I thanked her and I left my basket at the front to go find a bathroom somewhere else. When I stepped out, it not only was raining..but it was so cold! I didn't really know where to go since I am new to the Raleigh area. So I ran back inside after a few minutes and asked, more like pleaded nicely at the cashier to let me PLEEEAAASSEE use the bathroom. She then proceeded to say rather annoyed "oh no, I'm sorry. You need to find somewhere else." At that point I just cried and I asked her if she could point me in the direction of a place to go to the bathroom. Her suggestion was to go to Target. For a store that caters to families and where I am sure, I am not/will not be the only expectant mother walking through the doors--I was, and still am truly saddened by the customer service and the experience I had today with this situation. No person should be treated the way I was today. No person should have to beg to use a bathroom. Take care of your customers. A little kindness can go a long way. I went to OUaC twice this week. Once to buy, once to return some items that didn't fit. On these two trips I saw about 10 staff members total. Zero of them were wearing masks despite our local mask mandate. They have no sign in the door and do not prevent the public from entering without wearing masks. At this time when everyone is trying to return to schools, parents are stressed, students and teachers take the brunt of social distancing and the stresses that brings, this business that is related to back to school gives the impression of direct insubordination to the mask mandate. I find that dangerous and shameful. I discourage others from using this business until they fall in line with health protocols or until the Covid climate exponentially improves. read more

I usually do the Kids Exchange at the fairgrounds but was wanting to get rid of some things sooner. I left the box and was told I would get a text in about an hour and need to return within 15 minutes. Once I got the text, I returned to the store and was offered $26 for a box full of items. They only had a few things they did not want to sell. I looked in the bin thinking they must only have a few items for a $26 offer. Most of my items were in there. Really disappointed with how they've gone downhill. I used to sell here often but haven't in over a year. Last weekend I dropped a basket off and filled out the paper like I always did, handed it to the girl and asked if that was it, was told yes and she went back to work. When I didn't get a call with an offer for several days I called and was told that their process changed when ownership changed last summer and they no longer call but provide a time frame to return. I was never given a time frame by the employee, and had no idea the process changed. My items were donated and I was out the items and the monetary value. I have no issue with the process. My issue is that not a single employee told me to come back (I dealt with 2) and yet I'm the one who suffered because of it. I think I'll have to find a new place where communication is better. Mind you I drove from Clayton to do this so I took a drive. All my kids are name brand and good shape otherwise I throw them out as in no stains and not looking worn. Went in with a large basket of newer clothes that my kids outgrew before being able to wear them to sell. i was told it was a 5 hour wait and while I did not have to wait in the store (for 5 hours) that once they called me I had FIVE minutes to show up or they would keep my clothes and either donate or sell them and I would not be reimbursed. I needed up leaving with my basket of clothes because it seemed super unreasonable and unrealistic to essentially force someone to stay there for 5 hours and wait. Today, we just came in to browse since we were in the shopping area( Applebee's is close, Target, convenient location). It also was a good time to look for fall/winter items in preparation for the upcoming season. I found this adorable faux fur vest for my 4 yr old daughter for just $5.50 ! I think it's cute because I have one similar and can't wait to wear on a mommy and daughter day out. I found some bargains for my 8-yo daughter. Several Children's Place, Gymboree items with tags that are fantastic! Prices are *very* fair! However, on the downside, I seriously think the place could be a fire hazard. The racks are much too close together and the aisles too narrow. You can *barely* pass someone in the same aisle without backing out. Another beef... There is NO dressing room to try the clothes on (and when I'm buying consignment items with a limited return policy, I want to see if these items are gonna fit - because you never know what shrinkage there is if someone has fried clothes in their dryer, by that time it doesn't matter a flip what size the tag says.) So, you ask... How does one check out the fit of the clothes? Strip down in the middle of one the aisles you can't pass through? Well, that possibly *may* provide you with an option because as crowded as the aisles are, you probably won't get arrested for child nudity since no one would be able to see much!! Fortunately (or unfortunately - depending on if you see your glass half full or half empty), they repurpose their - one and only - bathroom as a dressing room too. I found the idea rather gross and standoffish. It was moderately clean, they have a small (did I say miniature?) baby nursery rack and a hook on the back of the door. There is also a full size baby diaper changing table, but... I'd change my baby in the back of my car (or the crowded aisles) before using that table (can you say "unsanitary"?). So, while you're already in a hurry to get out of there - at least I certainly am because public restrooms aren't terribly scenic or aroma-welcoming in the first place... You begin feeling even more pressure to get out because people are *constantly* rapping on the door in an endless rush to get in! So, there you are standing there thinking: "Are they needing to try clothes on their child - or - is there a pitiful toddler standing outside needing to use the potty?" And being a post-potty training mom myself, that must be an awful feeling... Mom has worked so hard for little Johnny to finally feel semi-comfortable to sit on the toilet and all those efforts get flushed down the tube :~( (LOL)! All because it's simply too convenient for the store to use the restroom to also serve as a dressing room. All this on a Thursday evening... I don't think I'd try my luck going there on a Saturday; there is a reason (or two) why I don't play the lottery! While I know that real estate is invaluable to merchandisers, could they not build just one separate room - or at least a sectioned-off area with a hanging privacy curtain - to use as a changing room? A changing room for trying clothes on, *not* for changing diapers. And, certainly, those almost-potty trained moms would be ever so grateful too! If they could correct this, it would be an awesome retail place where clothes are many pennies on the dollar cheaper than the name brand stores - especially since our precious little ones quickly outgrow their clothes! So, in conclusion, decide for yourself: Are the bargains too good to pass up to outweigh the overstuffed aisles and the so-called dressing room or not? Your call. read more

Although this place has a big selection of clothes they unfortunately don't have a changing room to try on clothes. They instead allow people to try on in the bathroom. This store doesn't take clothes on Sundays. It stops buying period at 5:00 PM on weekdays. When is a single working mom supposed to come in?! Oh right, Saturday! Then it's packed and takes hours. I was there today at 12:30 PM (it's Tuesday) because I happened to be home with a sick teen who was napping but wanted soup when he awakes. I'll hit Target while I'm there and kill two birds. 12:30. Perfect, right? Though the store was nearly empty and there were at least three employees in there, they were overwhelmed and no longer buying for the day. This was the fourth time in a row I was turned away. The employees are rude and/or unconcerned with the time it takes people to bring stuff there. For a store that is meant to serve pregnant woman and families who are within the ages of potty training, I was shocked by how rude the staff was with regards to the immediate need of a bathroom. We are a family that is not only potty training, but also has to deal with a disability that makes access to a bathroom an immediate and necessary situation. We have been in plenty of situations where an establishment's bathroom is out of order, and they responded to our needs with kindness and understanding, usually directing us (and usually their customers in general) to the bathroom which the employees use. I understand I am not entitled to be granted the use of the employee bathroom. However, if the store wouldn't allow customers the use of the public restroom simply because the door was broken (which is the excuse they used), the response of a decent and respectable business that cares for their customers would be to allow access to the employee bathroom, until the store puts in the effort to fix the broken door. Other establishment's have dealt with similar situations with significantly more compassion and understanding. Once Upon a Child reacted oppositely. Again, I may not have been entitled to that kind gesture, but it certainly speaks of how much they actually care. Not only did they refuse us the use of a bathroom in an emergency situation, but the woman was outright rude about the situation, and totally wrote off my explanation that some family's need a bathroom due to a condition that is legally classified as a disability. So basically...if you are potty training a child or pregnant, and especially if you have a disability such as lupis, chrones, colitis, or any other diseases similar to IBD, this store is not a favorable one. Also, the place was a mess. I was looking for a baby carrier and the carriers were thrown into a sloppy pile I had to detangle as I sifted through their offerings. read more
