Not stroller or kid friendly! There is a step you cannot get up with stroller in tow. The clothing is cute but merchandised tight and close together so it's off putting to look at and overwhelming. They carry quintessential proper southern clothing for children. Hand smocked dresses and jumpers. One lady spoke to me but that's because I chatted her up and complimented her on her dress! This store has a great selection of boutique children's clothing, but the store and staff are not very kid-friendly. It's fine if I'm shopping alone, but I have gotten dirty looks and remarks to mind my child in the store when I've brought her in to try things on. read more

I posted a review a couple of months ago about my numerous experiences at Lamb's Ear, which was not to par! Well I was in a crunch and had to swing in there to get an item last minute and the shop was the closest to me (should of drove downtown to another shop in hind sight!). Let me paint the picture of my experience yesterday. I walk in to hear 3 ladies talking at the counter (all work there) talking about everything they see wrong with the store, where items should be located vs. where they are, one lady saying "well it isn't my store" and all the women laughing about the comment! I find another lady shopping in the store as well (found out later she was shopping for her grand baby!). So I'm in the store for maybe 20 minutes, no one (any of the 3 ladies) comes to greet me, ask me if I need help, check to see if I'm slipping an item in my bag, nothing! I hear the other lady shopping go up to one of the women and ask about how an item runs, does this item run large or small, she explained it looked like it ran large when comparing it to other brands in the store. One of the ladies working says "it runs normal" and they go back to chatting with each other. I'm pretty much in shock at this point. Wait! You don't even look at the brand. So what do I do? I go up to the lady and ask her " what brand are you asking information about" she shows me the name brand (FYI that brand runs wide and large!) so I tell the lady how the brand runs and to size down. She says "oh my gosh thank you so much" then we proceed to discuss how rude, disrespectful and how much the customer service sucks in Lambs Ear! She tells me that she can not believe how no one greeted her, asked her if she needed help and how me as a customer knew more then the ladies working there! So I go back to my shopping, browsing and a gentlemen walks in he says "hi how are you ladies" ZERO response, then he looks at me and says "maybe not" it takes him walking up to these ladies who again are just standing at the checkout counter to even get them to speak to him, he ask a question about a family member coming in to town with a child and then leaves. So it's my turn to take my 3 items to checkout. I walk up to the counter, after zig zagging around 2 of the ladies who don't speak to me, move out of my way and continue to discuss things wrong with the store (now mind you they work there?). Finally I check out and leave. I spent the rest of the day thinking about my experience, talking to friends who have similar experiences there. And it leads me to write this review. Your store is a high end children's boutique! After my numerous experiences shopping with you I've come to realize you care ZERO about customer service and only about gossiping, talking to those who are friends and family, carry high in designer bags, dress to impress. Well, I'm hear to tell you that people in Raleigh are talking about you and not in a positive way! But do you even care? Based on my last review and my recent experience I say not. It is truly sad to me that you run your business the way you do. read more

Nicest folks in the world. I've never had a kid and when I walked into the store, I was overwhelmed. I wanted to get something for a baby shower, but my friend had registered at Target. She picked out little onsies that to me looked like wife beaters! No way was I going to get little munchkin that! Fortunately, one of the kind ladies helped me pick out the cutest gifts for my friend's baby. I felt that the quality of x, y, and z that I purchased (my friend hasn't gotten the gifts yet!) was adorable yet durable. Pretty yet practical. read more

I can't describe the disappointment I just experienced at Lamb's Ear. I live in FL and have made a point to shop here for 5 years when I am in town. I was able to get to the store at 6:50 this evening to grab a few things for my children and at 7:00 I was told by manager/owner? Not sure who that she and her associate had dinner plans and that they needed me to wrap it up. I was shocked and put my armful of items down and left. You just lost a loyal customer. read more

I have a number of pregnant friends (four due in July), and I've been going to baby showers and sending gifts. I found Lamb's Ear while shopping in North Hills, and I have to say this store has the largest selection of high quality baby and children's clothes that I have seen in the area. The baby clothes are expensive, but they are very well made. The clothes here will last for the second baby. They have unique gifts as well like cupcake and lollipop onesies. read more

Absolutely rude!!! My mother and I just went to shop for my baby that is due soon. As a business owner, my pet peeve is when I walk into a store and no one speaks, because that's not how myself or my staff would EVER treat customers. But, I decided that everyone doesn't have the same standard of customer excellence, and so I gave them more time to extend a greeting or an offer to help us. The store was NOT busy whatsoever, and had several sales associates talking amongst themselves and blatantly ignoring us. They saw my mother and myself walking around, and I audibly expressed that I wished someone would greet us or that we could get some help...My mother had a long list of things that we were looking to buy today! But, clearly your staff wrongly assumed that we weren't worth their time or effort, and chose to very nastily ignore us. So, we will be moving on to the next shop to spend our money, and I'll be sharing my experience with all of my friends and clients! I would never spend a penny in this place. It's slightly confusing... the door to the front doesn't really open. You have to enter through Paperbuzz (and then try not to spend money on their cute stuff, too!). The store is small but has a pretty great selection of higher end baby items. It's perfect for grabbing a gift for a pregnant friend or coworker. They carry Aden & Anais and some other great brands that a lot of the friends of mine with kids have said were great and worth the money for their comfort, durability, and function. Nice store for upscale kids clothes. The shop workers were great to work with and followed up on a promise to call when a specific line came in. I'll definitely come here to shop for the nicer brands you can't find in the mall. read more

Very nice baby and children's clothing... however, I left tonight not feeling good that I spent money there. I went in to buy my best friends four year old a dress for her birthday which is in January. All of the dresses I saw were light spring dresses as they were putting out new inventory. It's still cold out, so I found a beautiful little corduroy embroidered dress on the sale rack (it was 40% off $73). I paired it with a little hair bow and a stuffed animal - so I still spent about $80 total anyway. When I went to the register, I asked to have the dress gift wrapped. The girl at the counter told me "Oh, we don't gift wrap sale items". My eyes just about popped out of my head, I said "just not the SALE items?" She said yes. Wow. Honestly, I almost walked out because it was so rude. As a business owner, they need to get a grip because that's a terrible business policy, all customers should feel good about doing business and not bad about buying something they are offering on sale. I also have a 3 year old granddaughter and this was my first time there, but I am not going back. It's too bad for them... I never write reviews but now I see a few other people have written with similar experience at this business. read more
