Staff was very pleasant and helpful even while being short-staffed. The store is clean and well organized. While older/tween kid selection was not nearly as vast compared to baby clothes and toys, it was enough to meet our needs. Returns are simple and easy. What else can be said accept about how great the prices are!!! A great community service! read more

To me, this place feels like a complete rip-off. You bring in clothes that are in good condition, sometimes two large bags, and they give you only $20 or $30 in store credit. This last time, I brought in a whole bag of clothes and was given only $5 in credit. What makes it even more frustrating is that when you shop there, you can find clothes in much worse condition being sold at surprisingly high prices. I understand that they may not accept every item or give credit for everything, but what they offer feels ridiculous compared to the amount and condition of the clothes you bring in and the prices they charge in the store. This is the second time I've had this experience, and personally, I would rather give my clothes away to someone who needs them than bring them here again. read more

My daughter picked out a Nike sweatshirt to put on hold. They took five hours to go through our things - notifying us at closing time, so we had to come the next day. Then they lost / sold the sweatshirt she wanted. Wasn't even sorry. We had five bins of good quality items and they bought like 10 things. Since new ownership, they removed the Tuesday bag discount, lowered the discount you get when you use the selling credit, charge you taxes before the discount price, and a credit card fee (which they don't tell you about in advance). I'll drive to Canton going forward. read more

Parking lot is a little hard to get to. The whole place was undergoing construction when we arrived. Very few selections of toys (compared to other OUAC locations I've been to... same as shoes- not many choices) Staff was friendly though and store was clean. We didn't find anything we wanted while in store. read more

Very disappointed and upset that the manager let my special needs kid go (fired) without any communication. This company had a chance to get a job coach in to help if they were not happy (never communicated they were not happy to my kid or his liaison) and my son was not given that opportunity. Manager ghosted him. Please don't send any special needs kids to work here. They are not autistic friendly. read more

owner elizabetta is flat out racist . no other way to put it. this store will always be clean and color coordinated the clothes will be clean. from a selling standpoint Id never sell to this location they will lowball you! compared to all the other locations this location will offer bare minimum they take pride in how this store looks compared to the others but have no shame on how they treat employees or patrons. very rude very mean just a non pleasant place to be. read more

Went in to sell some of my grandsons stuff today and they have new younger workers that were very nice and friendly.Unfortunately rare these days so was nice read more

Very picky! The girl made me feel as though the item I brought in were sub par and I was for coming in with them. I am a grandmother and the things I brought in were. A little dusty because I only get my grand children once a month. But I have always kept them clean. I wouldn't waste my time again! read more

I come in here every once in awhile now that my kid is older. Each time over the years I get the same vibe from this place that makes my visits few and far between. I entered and none of the three employees greeted me. They were just opening so it was not busy. I looked around for about 10 minutes and left. Neither of the two employees said a word on my way out. This is always the service I receive here. Prices are high. Not worth the visit. Go to a garage sale instead. read more

Meh. Buying is fine when you get use coupons or find sale items. Sometimes regular prices are good value it just depends. Selling however is just so so, they really don't pay much at all for most items. For example I was offered $1 for pair of keens which you know they will price between $10-15 read more

When I compare this store to other ones in the area this one is hands-down more expensive. This store has more baby clothes compared to toddler or kid clothes so if that's what you're looking for it's perfect. They do not carry a lot of baby gear either compared to others. The one thing that annoys me about the store is the pricing is not consistent you can see one tank top in a size 5 for $1.50 you can see the same exact tank top and a size 6 for $2.50. read more

Have been a few times now. Having 3 under 10 this place comes in handy. Everyone there has always been nice. It is well laid out and easy to find what you need. Very clean and everything is very orderly. I feel way better that old location. That always seems cramped and a mess. Great job. Take you old stuff and just donate what they don't buy. Super fair on buying and get extra if use store credit. read more

Once Upon a Child - Children's Clothing Near Me - Novi, Michigan

Rude. Walking up a half hour early from edited opening times, the lady working wouldn't even let me drop off a box and walk away. I was essentially donating clothes that they could sell for 100% profit and she wouldn't even open the door. Then I sat there trying to wait, and she returned to the door and told me that she would not be buying my clothes, I should just leave. I waited, like she asked and then was still turned away. great customer service. Won't be back. read more

Staff is friendly and buying from their store seems easy but I would NOT recommend selling to them. A friend warned me against it but I thought I would give it a try. She was totally right. It's a tedious process that wastes so much of your time that it's not worth it. As frustrating as it can be to sell items online, it is no less frustrating (or less time consuming) to try and sell to this store. And you will probably get more money in your pocket doing it on your own. read more

Received the worst service at this location I have never felt so discriminated against in my entire life! I buy from the Troy location and have even sold toys back at troy location before. I've never sold clothing before however this location didn't even look through my bin. When I came to check in they took my bin and bag of toys. I began to look around and shop for things while my husband stood by the door waiting. After shopping I went and joined him while my items stayed exactly where I left them. I receive a text message stating I was ready for check out. I went to the same lady who checked me in asking if this text message was a mistake seeing how no one had even touched my bin. She very rudely says I need to go ask someone at the register for help. I show the lady at the register my text message she's just as confused because no even looked at the bin. The same rude lady (white with a blonde bob) comes up and says the toys are in a bag so she couldn't look at my items. I was so furious I just left because it was clear she didn't want to help me so I just politely grabbed my items and left. My issue is what does the toys have to do with the clothes I spend good money on my daughters clothes and love the concept of once upon a time because children wear things once if that before they grow. I had two pairs of Air Force ones (limited vday edition) two pairs of crocs one never even worn Colombia jacket brand new! Not only did she lie about looking through my items she let me check in with a bag of toys watched me sit for 30 mins waiting and never once informed me of the policy how rude what a waste of time! I want to escalate this all the way up to the top! This level of disrespect was uncalled for and very hurtful! Please connect me the the correct person-ale to insure this woman can never give this level of service to anyone else. read more

I love coming here, you can always find what you need for your little ones. Plus you can trade in clothes, toys anything really. They send you coupons to use and text messages for sales. One of my go to places! read more

Very clean and nice items but they very picky when selling back. I understand they have to be to an extent but when some of the clothes on the floor are in worse condition then what I'm trying to sell it's kind of a bummer. This location is NOT little kid friendly, no shopping carts in store, got a few frowns from employees when I was trying to wrangle my 2yr old. read more

There prices are good but the staff isn't friendly and it's hard to shop there with kids. Not set up for a easy experience. I also had a problem with the new reward program, they somehow didn't transfer my points through correctly and I lost 2 30 percent off coupons due to it. The employees didn't seem bothered by it and I even emailed the owner about it and didn't even receive a response back. read more

I usually shop at the Canton location but since I've moved I tried the location on Southfield rd,TERRIBLE. Any who, I still work in the same area so I stopped into the Novi location one morning where I was politely greeted. This store is clean, well organized and full of clothing, shoes, children's gear, books, and toys that are km excellent shape and in style. I don't remember smelling that overpowering smell of detergent or whatever it is that they use at the other stores. They even had sippy cups, and spoons still packaged for sale. This location is my favorite and I will be returning. read more

Meh. Some of the clothes (although in good condition) are quite literally outdated by 5-8 years i.e my 8 y.o wore theses token Target/Kohls styles YEARS AND years ago! More baby and toddler and shoe bin is weak. They need to sharpen the buyers here. And prices are bizarre. Cat and Jack shirts are $5 brand new...yet they have shirts at $4 and $5? If your looking to make money, nope. It's a way to unload stuff. read more

Don't waste your time if you want to sell anything here! Just as picky as platos closet! Take your stuff to Salvation Army. After 2 trips. 4 33gal totes of extremely well cared for items. They gave me $20 store credit for about 10 items! Serious? My stuff was 1000% better quality & cared for than some of the stuff I looked at to buy for my daughter! read more
