This was my first (and last) time trying to sell clothing at the Langley Once Upon a Child. I had called ahead and was told it was first come, first served, with no limits on what or how much to bring. Based on that, I loaded my car with four large bins. When I arrived early Saturday morning, there was a sign saying they would only accept two bins per customer because they were "understaffed" (on a Saturday?). Fine -- I brought two bins back to my car and left the other two. A few hours later, I got a text that my items were ready. To my shock, both bins were still completely full. They had taken just 18 items for $21.25. I was then told they don't accept stuffed animals, sizes 0-6 months, size 2 or 3, jeans, or pajamas -- information that should absolutely be made public before people go through the trouble of hauling everything in. In the end, I wasted time and effort, only to haul almost everything back home. Very disappointing, and I won't be returning. read more

Don't go to this location. I brought almost $500 worth of almost new clothing, half of it my baby never even wore. They told me they apparently didn't want items that had tags attached?! I waited almost 3.5 hours with my 7 month old baby!! then they denied 95% of it and offered me like $10 for the stuff they wanted. I brought the stuff they didn't want to a different location in coquitlam and they gave me over $100 for everything. The people at this location are also extremely rude. Everytime i've come shopping here they barely acknowledge you're even in their store. Don't waste your time here. read more

I visited this location because I saw their Instagram saying they need baby gear. I dropped off items including a stroller. I waited less than an hour for the estimation and went back to the store. It was an okay experience dropping off and estimating. But I wasn't provided with their estimation at all and they didn't inform me anything about it. Before accepting anything from This location, ask for the details about what they accept and how much. Otherwise, you are the one fool! read more

Very well organized and everything is easy to find. Great clearance prices and deals on some good clothing. Not a great selection of used strollers but I feel most people sell that kind of stuff on their own. Staff was friendly and helpful. read more

Please save your time and gas going here. The place is a scam. When bringing in your items, they will ask you to come back when they are done sorting them. I came an hour and a half to close and there was 4 peoples items ahead of me that they needed to go thru. I browsed the store for an hour. (Which is extremely hard with a stroller) picked some items to do a trade, and checked back in to see if my items had been sorted thru. They still had more to do so I left my items. Came to return, and they "offered" me 12.75 for 300 bucks worth of brand new half with tags items, I told the owner I would rather donate them and that was underpriced and please give me my items back. She then told me she "donated" the items...yeah right. I get some baby clothes are piled, faded etc, but this lady is running a scam. What a great store. Very friendly staff, great prices. I love the fact that I can bring my items there and get paid the same day. If you do a trade (that's shop the same day) you can save the taxes up to the same dollar value. They even have a play area for the kids so moms/dads can shop. It's a cool store and I like that you don't need an appointment to consign but their clothing is way overpriced for used stuff.

These guys are a joke! They turn me down on a whole bag of lightly used baby clothes last time. I recently found some baby toys I want to get rid of quickly. So I decided to give them another shot. My decision was wrong! I've an exersaurcer, booster chair and bouncer that they ask me to bring it in for evaluation. As I walk with hand full of things and lay them out so they can inspect it. The next thing I was ask to set everything up before they can evaluate. Fine! Took me few mins to set everything up while I keep my kid in sight. Turns out due to lack of warning labels and being too "old" they won't accept anything! I know the stuff I'm selling are top shape before I pass it on so I won't embarrass myself. Also I'm sure they can let me know if there are things missing (aka warning labels) before I've to set everything up and take it down once again. I'm done with them! Worse experience ever! read more

Won't go there again. Second time dropping off clothes they rejected everything telling me in a loud voice around other people shopping in the store that there were stains on it all. Some items were brand new from sears with tags as my aunt had just bought them but did not work for us. The sale staff member had me walking out of there red faced! I took some clothing, and advised only a two bin limit, fine. They requested if there was boys clothing they would look at that. Returned after 1 hour, and was given my bins back. I had a variety of mixed clothing in there. Name brands, Hurley, Gap, Adidas, Gymboree, Guess, etc, all the way to Old Navy , George, etc. Never once was it explained to me how much they paid for their bins. I should've asked, but when I rec'd a bin back, I figured they weren't interested in it.. It was loaded with t shirts, sweaters, hoodies, long sleeve shirts, etc. Only when I got home did I realize what they had taken out.There is no documenation of what they bought from you, they just close your bin & hand it back to you. Hoping you don't realize you've been ripped off. I was paid out very cheaply. I felt they cherry picked what they want, and use the excuse that it was stained. I am VERY particular when it comes to my kids clothes, it's all washed in cold & hung to dry & ironed. Disappointing, will not take clothes there, and as far as buying, prices are no big deal. Second hand stores are better or even Craigslist Will NOT go there again, it's not worth it. read more

Just wish they had furniture!! Great place for affordable brand name clothes for babies. Since they grow out of their clothes so fast, used clothing is a great alternative that saves you money and still looks great. Often have amazing sales and the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. And you can take your used clothes to them for cash!! read more

Not a good experience, if you paid good $ for your clothes that are in decent condition, expect $1 per item. The experience would have been rewarding if the staff were professional. However, during my first and only experience, arrogance is what you get if they fail to explain how the trade, credit or cash system works upon getting your quote for your child's clothes. I had a thorough look at the used clothes for sale, the mark up would have been 500-800%. Due to the attitude I received when I politely questioned the payout, I would rather donate my clothes to those in need than let these people turn a profit. read more

I was excited about this store when I first heard of it. I had brought in a few boxes if items to sell. The staff were really friendly and left a good impression. However, when I returned to pick up my items that were not being bought, I was told that most of the unwanted items were not in demand since they were looking for more clothing than learning toys. When I got home and looked through my items again, I realized that they were not even being looked at coz they were left in the same position when I dropped them off! I know they were busy at that time coz they were trying to open the store asap. However, to disregard items without even looking was a total waste of my time bringing them in. Very Clean and good prices for buying shoes and clothing. Lots of toys and books. I did take some clothing there that I was going to donate anyways. If your bring in stuff to sell to them call ahead to find out what they are taking and when you have to pick up anything they dont. I was told one thing one day an another the next. So they seem to change there mind as to what they take and dont day to day. The best part is they have a play area for your kids to hang out in while you shop! read more

I believe the staff at the Langley OUaC location are trained to make you feel like an unworthy piece of garbage before you leave the store. Every time I go there (third time today since it opened) I am made to feel like I am LUCKY to have them even consider my goods for their inventory. I just dropped off brand new items with tags on them for goodness sake and got 'the look' like "you'll be lucky if we take half of your items you deem good enough for resale. Don't worry though, when you come back for the items we don't accept today, we'll be sure to let you know how many stains there may be in the pile and make you feel like you're worse than the rest of them... I KNOW I am not alone in this stores consumer feedback. Such a shame. The online marketing team did a great job getting me to the store. 'Get cash on the spot for your unwanted items'. Awesome store. It's a little over priced but I get it they have to pay rent etc. Just bought a high chair from their and while cleaning it noticed a smell of cigaret smoke. They must not clean things that go through. Which is fine but that should be something to look for when dealing with kids. I personally don't mind it but when it has to do with my kids. No thank you. I went there few months ago, with seven huge containers, and two other boxes in my van full to the roof! i have two screaming kids and was turned away...because they were not excepting anything under five yrs..but on there Facebook page it said excepting everything..and the younger lady I talked to there was rude, I left a Facebook post and heard NOTHING! In my opinion bad customer service Will never go there nor recommend them! Oh and I drove all the way from north delta surrey area! Almost 1 hr to be turned away, rudely at that! read more

All the clothes and books I have bought from here have been in great condition. I love that there is a play section for my kids and that the staff is extremely helpful. Great prices on books (often between $1-$2) and the clothes are decent prices (not as cheap as Sally Ann but the store is cleaner and easier to use when you have little ones with you than Sally Ann. I have never sold anything to them but have heard good things from friends that have. I also like that any toys/equipment they sell are all checked for safety recalls. read more

I will never shop there again. I have shopped at several locations and left satisfied with my purchases. The customer service is extremely poor. No customers and 5 employees standing around laughing and talking. At no point was I greeted. I stood there not knowing what to do with my box of clothes. I guess they were that busy standing there do nothing at all. No smiles on their faces and I felt very uncomfortable. Made me feel like trash when I brought my daughters clothes in. Maybe if the girl would have looked in the box, she would have seen name brand clothes in there and several with tags, because she had so many outfits that she never got to wear. If it was not for the fact my daughter was playing with a toy, I would have never bought it. Even the cashier did not greet us when we went to cash out. No personalities at all in this location. I went in there will full intentions on seeing what I could get for her clothes and spend more than I was getting for them. My excitement of shopping there was a big disappointment. I would not recommend anyone to shop at this location until they learn how to show better customer service! I make sure all my friends know what a JOKE they are. I completely agree with Curtis C and Diane L. I ended up donating her clothes to Value Village to support their Diabetes fundraiser. Excellent customer service is the key to a successful business. Zero Rating from me. I have tried 3 times with this store and have promised myself that I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK AGAIN. I agree with R.B. of Surrey. This store makes you feel like less of a human being and that your goods, even if "like new" are unworthy of acceptance by the store, but, well what the heck, we will go through them and you can come back later and get your offer. And the Store Owner even responds to reviews and "apologizes" about our customer experience. Nonsense, you have not done anything to "change" your customers experience. You do not care one bit. Sorry, but this store is DISHONEST. I took in next to brand new items, not a single mark. They looked new. They offered bottom dollar and were items that are desirable!!!! How is this possible? When questioned why they did not offer me maximum percentage as advertised, they said that they have excess stock. Hmmm? Convenient!!!! Just another excuse to Buy Low and Sell High. As if they would resell at bottom dollar. I was BELITTLED in this store. I WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. I have tried 3 times with this store with items that are "like new" and barely used and felt ripped off. I checked out the same items in the store that I brought in, and they were charging top dollars. Big sad story they are selling to the public. I have given this store a fair try and too much of my time and effort and I am now done with this "experience". I have given one star because the store exists and this means potential.
