I know I can come here for high quality gifts for my friends and family that they love time and time again. There are a range of products to select from- both for older and younger audiences, which makes it a great spot to buy for multiple people. I especially enjoy having a local spot that makes buying from other smaller businesses accessible, so Lou Lou's is a 10/10 from me!!

Who woulda thunk it? An independent toy store in Hickory, right on Union Square! From the outside,…read morelooks can be deceiving. You might think it looks like a consignment shop or the like. Inside, however the place is kind of magical. The first thing you see when you enter is a large display of toys made from recycled plastic, complete with dirt and tools. Everywhere you turn, there's another awesome, well put together toy or baby gear display. The merchandise is divided by age appropriate items. Just when you think you're done, there's a large circular staircase down to another level, where the toys for older children are located. One of the best things is how "hands on "kid friendly it is; it's a total no judgment zone! Tons of sample toys have been laid out for kids to actually play with! The next great things are the prices! Very fair and reasonable - not boutique prices like you might think! Great place to pick up a gift for a kid you love!

The employees are always polite and welcoming. Decent store and location. Good for baby shower gifts.

Prior to this last experience I would have recommended this store but after meeting the owner and…read morediscovering her business style, I will NOT be shopping this store again. Yes the selection is wide, and cluttered with kiddie items of all sorts which is why so many rave about this store. The previous experiences, I have had lovely interactions with the other clerks but the owner is horrible! I recommend that if you intend to purchase an item, make sure to check the prices because if the owner doesn't feel it is fair to her consignees, then she will raise the price on the object. I bought a infant carrier which was marked down to 12.50, Great Deal.. I thought until I went to the register and the owner deemed the price was to low. It was marked down to that price on the tag but she refused to honor it. It is a present for my husband so I went against my better judgement and purchased it at $25. Then as I was walking out I asked if she had a Facebook page which she snidely replied "Yes, remember you bought it!" What a poor display of customer service and business acumen. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Also, all sales are final so be careful if you intend to shop here.

I have bought many items from this boutique, the customer service varies from good to very bad. I…read moretry not to hold that against the boutique itself because every sales person does not have the same level of customer service but today will be my last day in this boutique due to their terrible return policy. I bought an item right before the COVID-19 shut down so of course I could not return it within the seven day return policy that they have in place. Seven day return policy I think is ridiculous anyway especially for people that may be from out of town. I pointed that out to the sales person working today and because they have been open for over two weeks since the shut down she said they couldn't return it. I have looked several times to see if they were open since shut down and today was the first time I saw them open. So if they are willing to lose a customer over a $20 shirt when I was prepared purchase 4 other ones and a dress then so be it .....I'm done with them! They get a -5 stars from this customer! To be clear I don't hold the sales person responsible, I hold the person whom she called on the phone to ask about that exchange responsible and I'm assuming that was her manager. I think most Retailers have been very flexible with exchanges and the time frame of exchanges due to Covid 19 pandemic shut down. Had she cited the reason she couldn't take the return back was because of COVID-19 and I may have reacted differently but that wasn't the reason I was given.
