I know I can come here for high quality gifts for my friends and family that they love time and time again. There are a range of products to select from- both for older and younger audiences, which makes it a great spot to buy for multiple people. I especially enjoy having a local spot that makes buying from other smaller businesses accessible, so Lou Lou's is a 10/10 from me!!

Who woulda thunk it? An independent toy store in Hickory, right on Union Square! From the outside,…read morelooks can be deceiving. You might think it looks like a consignment shop or the like. Inside, however the place is kind of magical. The first thing you see when you enter is a large display of toys made from recycled plastic, complete with dirt and tools. Everywhere you turn, there's another awesome, well put together toy or baby gear display. The merchandise is divided by age appropriate items. Just when you think you're done, there's a large circular staircase down to another level, where the toys for older children are located. One of the best things is how "hands on "kid friendly it is; it's a total no judgment zone! Tons of sample toys have been laid out for kids to actually play with! The next great things are the prices! Very fair and reasonable - not boutique prices like you might think! Great place to pick up a gift for a kid you love!

She stated that they had not bought them from the customer yet. So I kind of waited around the register looking at things. I watched two people come in and I heard them take the offer and both times she said walker. So I knew they were available. This girl had her back to me and put a sticker on the walker I wanted. And I walked up and said oh great is it available now? She turned around and said oh no it's not but this other one is. She handed me an older kind of more used one that didn't even have a sticker on it. Then her little friend tried to ring me up with it right then. I told her I wasn't done shopping. Then I watched this girl put the walker upside down on the floor. I asked a family member to go see if they would sell it to her. Same thing oh it's not available. Idk if she was saving it for someone or she wanted it for herself. But it was the only boy Mickey Mouse walker in the store. I ended up buying him a pink one from there just so he would have one at my house. I was ticked and I'm calling because that is ridiculous. I was going to buy him a bunch of stuff from there but I ended up just getting the walker because it pissed me off so much. Here is the walker when she took it and flipped it upside down.

Their stuff looks a lot cuter on babies and toddlers than older kids, but that's just my opinion. Lots of cutesy stuff with appliques and stitching. The employees are always polite and welcoming. Decent store and location. Good for baby shower gifts.

Prior to this last experience I would have recommended this store but after meeting the owner and…read morediscovering her business style, I will NOT be shopping this store again. Yes the selection is wide, and cluttered with kiddie items of all sorts which is why so many rave about this store. The previous experiences, I have had lovely interactions with the other clerks but the owner is horrible! I recommend that if you intend to purchase an item, make sure to check the prices because if the owner doesn't feel it is fair to her consignees, then she will raise the price on the object. I bought a infant carrier which was marked down to 12.50, Great Deal.. I thought until I went to the register and the owner deemed the price was to low. It was marked down to that price on the tag but she refused to honor it. It is a present for my husband so I went against my better judgement and purchased it at $25. Then as I was walking out I asked if she had a Facebook page which she snidely replied "Yes, remember you bought it!" What a poor display of customer service and business acumen. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! Also, all sales are final so be careful if you intend to shop here.
