Was in town for the holiday and decided to try this place out since there's not a lot of places…read morearound here (if there are they need to advertise a little more). The place is a cute outdoor spot, had a cute little play area for kids so that was nice. We ordered at the window but the menu screen wasn't working so we only got to see half the menu in a super fast motion. When I got to the window I asked to see a paper menu and they didn't have one. Lucky I saw food on here so I ordered the baked potato. The potatoes were small (I like the skin on the potatoes) but overall very good. My husband got the crawfish and it was good with nice flavor. They didn't have extra spices around or seasoning so you kind of just get that flavor but it was good. The sausage was awesome, wish I got more of that. Overall, good place.

We should have walked out when saw glass door that was so dirty with finger prints and everything else u hardly could see inside. Saw a few takeout orders come in and out so we reluctantly then Ordered food at counter to then be told after sitting down they were out of what I ordered so I had to order something different. Sat down at table which was so sticky my forearms stuck to it, napkin holder on table was so dusty my finger left mark when drug it across it. Place looked like it had never been cleaned or updated in years. Lights above had bugs galore in lightcover, floors/baseboards dirty, fans above on their last leg/blades. Windows also needed cleaning. By then I still wanted to walk out but I needed to see what the food was like. Trying to give benefit of doubt. Service very slow, looked short staffed. Hoping they washed hands at some point no gloves used with server taking orders, collecting money and touching food/cooking in plain view. When food arrived it looked ok until I tasted the coleslaw it was very bad, looked discolored and tasted old needless to say didn't eat it after one bite, my husband spit his out, then came the fried fish, I wasn't impressed no flavor parts of fish was just batter no meat, also the batter didn't stay on onion rings so as soon as u picked them up batter would fall off onion, Hush puppies tasted old not fresh, definitely frozen great value brand or worse. Didn't finish our meal and that's not like my husband he always finishes. Everything tasted same probably fried all in same grease. Still can't believe we stayed and (ate what we could)of the food. I hope they improve if read this, we like to support local businesses that's why we decided to try COUNTRY BOYS but unfortunately we won't be back. The cabins, marina, and store at this facility is nicely setup. They even have private boat slips…read morethat you can rent. The cabin that we rented was newly outfitted with a large hot water heater, appliances, and air conditioner. The beds were new and comfortable as well. My main issues were that we loaded up some firewood to come out to this nature retreat and the management wouldn't allow us to start a fire. They had a 14" TV and only a love sofa and upright cushioned chair to lounge around. My thoughts are if I'm here to rough it I'm going to go tent camping. But if I rent a cabin that has a TV at least have one you can see good enough and have somewhere to sit. Also, there is no refund policy. I asked the manager if we could cancel and get a refund, I even said we were good with getting half back since it was a short notice, but they said they don't refund money. I eventually was able to get them to agree to a credit for some time in the future to use. So as nice as the place was, I couldn't give them less than 2 stars, but if you are OK with nowhere to sit or watch TV, then this is an overall nice setup.
