I love Sports Systems. I've been a customer here for at least 6 years. I mainly used the bike shop…read morefor my maintenance needs. But, the store is full of an impressive stock of inventory for your sporting needs. Today, I stopped by the shop to get a water bottle cage. I had a remaining balance on a gift card to use. I found the cage. I also looked at a pair of biking glasses as I am in the market for some. The glasses where right next to the register with a few employees. I asked if I could take the transition lenses outside to try them. The took off the security device so I could do so. I opted not to get the glasses today, but I might get them in the near future. There was some trouble getting my gift card balance applied, but that was resolved and my purchased was complete. I read several Yelp reviews from customers complaining about the employees ignoring customers. I have to address this. Maybe it's just me, but I don't feel the need to be acknowledged when I'm in a store. If I need someone, I will flag them down. They have always been kind, courteous, and respectful to me over the course of my patronage, bike shop and store.

So upon my arrival I asked for Rico and he came with a unwelcoming approach he handed me off to another salesperson unbeknownst to me after I told him I was picking up my bike. He flatly turned around without a word and another uninterested person who didn't address he would help me instead. But just stood there. I finally asked where Nico went to my husband and this guy said I was ready to go. I was surprised and I said oh your helping me now? I asked if everything was there and he pointed to a box. I was surprised he had no interest in showing me how to operate the bike or set it up for me. I asked for him if he would adjust the bike for me since he clearly was doing the absolute minimum. The lack of service was obvious since the first interaction with the staff. No they didn't sale me the bike, Melissa did over the phone but apparently there is no interest in providing customer service unless the person made the sale was present. I was surprised to see 3 staff members outside providing service to a couple with optimum care and service making necessary adjustments to her bike but that same care wasn't provided to me. I would have bought other accessories and clothing during my visit but the shunning left me with a bad taste. Which I had never experienced before at a bike shop.

I recently moved to Albuquerque and wanted to have a step-through e-bike ready and waiting for me…read morewhen I arrived. After doing some research, I reached out to Two Wheel Drive and was lucky enough to be connected with Zach, who made the entire process seamless from start to finish. From our very first exchange, Zach was patient, responsive, and incredibly knowledgeable. I shared my needs--something lightweight, upright, easy to manage, and reliable for everyday riding--and he walked me through several great options before recommending the Kona Ecoco. He was honest about what would work best for my size, lifestyle, and comfort preferences. Even though I was still living out of state, Zach made it easy to place a deposit over the phone, giving me peace of mind that the small frame would be held for me. When I arrived in town a few weeks later, the bike was fully built, tuned up, and waiting for me--complete with all the custom accessories I had requested installed. Zach greeted me warmly, walked me through everything, and made sure I felt confident before rolling out the door. I genuinely could not have asked for a better experience. If you are looking for a local bike shop with heart, integrity, and stellar service, Two Wheel Drive is it. Thank you, Zach, for your care and follow-through--you made this new chapter feel grounded and exciting from the start.

Everyone from the boss to the bike maintainers have been professional, polite and taken the time to talk things through with me. I did a lot of research and had a pretty good idea of what bike (or at least type) I was after. The discussion and totally fair pricing is what made the sale for me. I've been back for service and it is excellent. I've been back for advice and pointers, again excellent. I've been back to buy bits and pieces and found just what I need with discussion and guidance. I'll be back at some point in the not too far future to buy another bike. This is my bike shop!
