The absolute best ballet shop one can find in the Seattle metro. I had a pointe shoe fitting, along with my 5 year old daughter, who needed new ballet slippers and leotard. Rhea and her two lovely associates (Unfortunately I forget their names) helped us very nicely and professionally. I am an amateur adult ballet dancer and was treated as patiently and respectfully as I could possibly imagine. They carefully examined my feet and my old shoes and patiently let me try on different shoes and explained the pros and cons. I ended up found a beautiful Nikolay(the old Grishko) shoes. They also were very nice to my daughter during her shoe fitting and leotard sizing. And while I was on my appointment, the ladies talked to my daughter to keep her entertained and let her play with the store stuffies. They even showed her the pointe shoes as she showed interest. My sister was visiting from the Philippines and was excited to check out ballet/dance stores while visiting us here in Seattle. She was excited to look at pointe shoes when we walked in, and I wasn't with her so I didn't know she was making a motion wanting to try it on. I know trying on pointe shoes mostly need appts. Lady in there with blonde hair did let her know we need an appt, but was condescending in tone. And then the sales associate who's Asian was also condescending to us saying we should have some kind of ballet experience or have taken ballet classes. I'm on pointe - my sister isn't and she was just excited. There's no need to be condescending and judgy in your tone. It's disgusting. I've trained in Seattle and now dance in L.A. not recommending this store because of the awful interactions/experience my sister and family had. read more

I feel so fortunate to have such a wonderful store with fantastic staff so close to the studio where my daughter studies ballet. Cindy is as knowledgeable, patient and as sweet as you can get. We went there when it was time for my daughter to be fitted for her first pair of pointe shoes. If any of you have a daughter on pointe (no pun intended), you know getting her first pair of pointe shoes is a special occasion. Cindy took nearly 45 minutes to make sure she got the perfectly fitted shoes and now nearly 3 years later, we will not go anywhere else for her shoes or any of her dance wear needs. They changed owners (and name from Fuzi) last summer and the new owner, Rhea is so friendly, accommodating and so lovely. She is so invested in her customer and it really shows. We are so grateful that she took over the business when Fuzi decided to close. Their new location feels much more open and inviting, with better parking! I am an adult ballet student, returning to dance after many years. I was fitted into a pair of pointe shoes at a different store that weren't working for me. I emailed Rhea at On Pointe Dancewear about the issues I was having with my shoes and inquired about getting refitted at her store. When I showed up for my appointment, she had several shoes ready for me to try. Rhea was very patient and spent over an hour with me to make sure that we found a shoe for me and, in the process, I learned a lot from her. We ordered a shoe to be delivered in the store and, when it arrived, I double-checked my fit with Cindy who was also knowledgeable and great to work with. I was really impressed with On Pointe. The store is clean, bright, and inviting. Both Rhea and Cindy are knowledgeable and personable. It was very easy to communicate with them and they are very responsive by both email and/or phone.
