I am new to the ballet world and searching for ballet attire. I couldn't find a skirt in my size anywhere. I called DanceTrendz to see if they had one and Jami was so kind to offer to make one for me if they didn't! After a local dance shoe store failed us, we called DanceTrendz. The owner was very supportive of finding our adult son a large wide tap shoe. She thought she had a set in stock that would fit, and when it did not she went on a personal quest to find some that did. Within a week, the shoes were in hand and just what we needed. Great shop, and it's wonderful that they'll go above and beyond to get you what you need (especially since our local store in Seattle would not). read more

Such an awesome experience for a new "dance mom". I have no idea what I'm doing, but Jenny was so wonderful (I even overheard her talking to someone and was willing to open up on a Sunday just for them)! I was hectic, it was late, she was getting ready to close and yet she never made me feel rushed. There's a HUGE selection of dance attire, everything is very reasonably priced, and it's great material. We got a chance to try on leos and dance shoes and my 3yo had a wonderful time in the store. Jenny was even knowledgeable about the different dance schools. She took her time to talk to me about the one I was joining and made my whole experience easy and comfortable. I signed my little one up for dance class at the local studio and they recommended I come here to purchase shoes and costumes. Someone also suggested I might be able to find cheaper prices at amazon, but I decided to check this place out first. I AM SO GLAD I CAME IN. The owner made my little girl feel like a princess and even gave her special attention when other customers came in. As far as pricing goes I found everything to be EXTREMELY reasonable and the quality to be exceptional. I was especially impressed when she suggested we size up on the shoes otherwise we would be back again soon to buy a bigger size. She could have easily sold me those shoes knowing she'd have another sale in a couple of months. A couple of the other parents approached me and asked where I bought her tights. Her tights and (leotard/tutu?) were noticeably a much better quality then what others bought online. I trust this store exclusively for any of our dance supplies and I have no hesitation coming back here again as we need to get new gear (since my kid grows like a weed). read more

I first went to Dance Trendz when my toddler started dancing back in April. They fit her for some ballet shoes and were very helpful. My daughter recently got moved to the next class level and needed some tap shoes for that class, so we went back to Dance Trendz. They let her try on the shoes and made sure that she was comfortable in them. Great service and we will be back for all our dance needs! read more

Stopped in here since my daughter needed new ballet flats and heeled tap shoes. The young lady at the store hadn't heard of heeled tap shoes and thought that might be a special order. (The correct answer is you can get character shoes and fit them with taps or there are brands that come with taps already, strike one). In trying on canvas ballet flats we couldn't find something similar to what my daughter already had, the main brand they had on hand was Bloch and the styles on hand didn't fit my daughter's narrow foot. The young lady told us that the "rule" at our studio was that ballet flats needed a thumb width at the end of the shoe. Strike two - the teacher the clerk mentioned was someone who teaches the younger classes when girls are still growing, my dancer at 14 doesn't need the extra length since her feet stopped growing 2 years ago and when we told her who my daughter had as an instructor she hadn't heard of that teacher (my daughter's teacher has been teaching there the longest and owns the studio). And in even more alarming news the clerk told us that Bloch had bought out Capezio so if we could find a Bloch shoe we would be in better shape since we wouldn't be able to find the Capezio brand. I did some checking today and there is NO news at all of Capezio ending as a company or Bloch buying them out, hmm #alternativefacts. My daughter also needed new pointe shoes, she has yet to find her perfect shoe and if you have a dancer you know that this can mean trying on various shoes to see if a different brand, style, shank, width works better. We have been to 4 different dance stores looking at different shoes, some places we have left with shoes some times we have not. To be "fit" in shoes at this store was going to cost $20 with NO guarantee that there would be a shoe that fit. I understand the concern of not wanting to lose a sale to a website but to charge a fee for a fitting (not the first pointe shoes mind you but the third, so she does know what she is looking for and how they should feel). After having problems finding a ballet flat and not knowing about tap shoes I elected NOT to pay to have them try to fit her in their limited stock. Verdict - not worth the time to stop in. read more

Being a student of one of the owners, I knew this store was going to start out good, but I never could have predicted it would be as trendy, accommodating, and available as it is. I can go there and get ballet shoes, leggings for jazz, and pants for hip hop all in one trip! The hours are great for dance families with busy schedules, and the owners are driven, hardworking, family-oriented people. I would recommend Dance Trendz in a heartbeat! read more
