I came here looking to buy some new salsa dancing shoes. I was pleasantly surprised at the…read moreselection they had. Do not believe the previous reviews from years ago that said they only have children's shoes. They certainly have updated their stock and they have many selections of women's and men's dancing shoes. You can see some of my pictures for reference. The person working there was very friendly and helped me immediately. I came at a good time as I was the only person in the store (around 4 PM on a weekday). She told me her recommendations and what I should look for and said to pick out whatever design I like and then she would get the right sizes for me in the back. I had to try a couple of sizes to find the best fit and she was very patient and helpful. (My dance shoe size turned out to be 1 size bigger than my normal shoe size-not sure if that's typical or not) I liked how there's a little mirror and stage area where you can try on your new shoes and do the spins and moves that your dancing shoes will take you all night. It didn't take very long for me to walk out of there with a brand new pair of salsa dancing shoes, and I am in love with them. The prices are very reasonable even compared to online vendors and if you buy them here you'll be supporting a local neighborhood store. It's definitely a quaint little place with lots of goodies inside, so come check it out. I certainly will recommend this to friends and family who are getting into dancing.

I was contacted by Dancewear Center and they apologized and spoke to me at length about my…read moreconcerns. They stated they would address my concerns in upcoming training and stated they did have some new employees who might have handled things better. I fully understand having new employees and am happy to allow some grace there. I appreciated the effort and them reaching out. If the employees at large adopt the customer service attitude of the individual who contacted me I think shopping with them will be a far more welcoming, efficient, and professional experience. I upgraded the review in part because of that, but also, in part because they do mobile fittings for studios who can't always get to the shops up in the city and I do hope they stay in business and are able to continue to provide this service to outlying areas, and, as I stated in my previous review, they have shoes on hand in most cases which is extremely valuable in dance and this area as a whole. I wish them well in continuing to improve and providing excellent service in the future.

This shop is very poorly managed, and it is dangerous to use the sport gear worked on by this shop:…read moreI tried to get my ski bindings remounted and moved back at this shop for two months. They totally missed the originally promised date of getting it done in two weeks. When they finally said it's done. I came to the shop, examined the skis and questioned if any work was done since there is no signs of binding remounted on the skis. The person manning the front desk (refused to give a name when asked) said confidently the work is done and made up reasons for why I can't see it. I fortunately had a picture from last winter showing exactly the positions of the binding. (Attached as Old). When compared with the pic taken at the shop (attached as New), it clearly showed no work was done to move it back. No apologies was provided by the front desk young man. I asked the man to write down a note for the technician since so much miscommunications have happened. He initially refused. When I asked to speak with the manager. He also refused. When I asked "Erik", another staff to help, this man told him to stop as well. Skiing is a high risk sport, and ski bindings are one of the most important part in keeping the gear safe to users. Their technician should get their certification/license canceled and this shop should be barred from working on technical sports gear in order to prevent blatant mistakes like this to happen again. Based on the reaction of the staff and lack of admission of their fault, I don't see any hope they can or want to correct their actions and keep their customers safe. The same report is made to the Better Business Bureau.

We had to go as we needed new rackets and shuttlecocks for the REC center badminton club we play at. We were only here for 3 days and 2 nights so we needed rackets and stringing service asap so it was a rush trying to get our ducks in a row. While the price was steep it is an investment. You don't buy new shoes, bags, or rackets every year if you take good care of your items. Save money, budget wisely, and you will get what you need. Sophie basically performed a full-binding exorcism on my indecision. I walked in mumbling something like "uhh I ride kinda switch and sometimes hit side hits but also like buttering around," and within five minutes she had narrowed my choices from "all of them" to "these exact three that I won't hate by February." Her product knowledge is scarily good like if bindings had a trivia night, Sophie would win a free lifetime supply and then give half away because she's just that nice. I walked out with premium bindings for less than the "discount" price I was about to pay online (before shipping, tax, and the inevitable regret). 10/10, five stars, two thumbs up, would let Sophie pick my bindings again in a heartbeat.
