Update: As a long term customer of this salon I still cannot…read morebelieve my recent experience that has ended my relationship with this salon. Miriam is the person I have been loyally going to for my cut, color & style for over 2 years. Recently she decided due to family reasons she would not be at the salon on a regular schedule but would be in every few weeks & assured me she would give me a call to come in on those days. The last time I was there in June she told me that she was almost certain she would be in on July 20th. Great I said! That is my birthday & I will be able to get my hair done. She said I am not positive but I will give you a call. I had not heard anything about rather Miriam would indeed be in on July 20th & I needed to get my hair done soon. I contacted Miriam around July 10th to confirm when she will be back in the salon. She informed me oh yes, I will be in on the 20th of July but sorry I am all booked up. I was shocked as she had promised to call me & I had no reason to doubt her. I guess no freshly styled birthday hair for my Saturday night. She then responded I will be back in the salon on Aug. 3rd. I did not argue with who I thought was a personal friend but I was disappointed. I called the salon & made an appointment for Aug. 3rd. A couple days before that appointment I get a call from the salon that Miriam will not be in on Aug. 3rd & they don't know when she will be back in. I should contact her directly. I was really frustrated. Why would someone tell me TWICE they will be in & then not be in. Where is the common respect. I contact Miriam & she says oh yeah I won't be in. I will be in on Aug. 17th however. At this point I am without words as to the waste if my time & lack if respect given to me especially after so long. I tried to explain to Miriam how I felt, ask why would she be so disrespectful to other people's time & tell her how I felt. She would not listen at all. She said well I posted on Facebook that I would be in on July 20th, sorry you did not see it. It booked up. Really Facebook? We are not Facebook friends & have not communicated like that in the past. I am your client not a Facebook buddy. Then she would not even acknowledge they she said she would be in on Aug. 3rd. All I heard was that I was being narrow minded & that I should just come in on Aug. 17th. She was completely missing the point & denied she ever said she would be in on Aug. 3rd even though I was staring at it in a text & sent her a screen shot. Bottom line I will not be back. I am very flexible about exactly how many weeks I go between appointments but I have no desire to continue to play these games. Just be aware of how a long time customer can be treated & when confronted argued with & told you are wrong & narrow minded.

I have been visiting Tammy & Company for the last two months…read more Being new to Texas from California, I really had no clue who would be a good fit as my new stylist. I started off with the Tammy (owner) she was very open and listened to dilemma. Tammy used to work for Aveda before opening her own salon so I was confident, that I would be well taken care of in her chair. Tammy is always booked so it makes it hard to get in for us walk-ins. But, this gave me the opportunity to meet the other stylist and that's how I met Kim. Kim is high energy and a fantastic stylist, as a second generation stylist this lady practical read my mind before I even mentioned that I wanted a new style. Of course these two have been there the longest so they are book up unless you call ahead of time. Audra is the newest stylist to the group. She's bubbly, funny and really loves what she does. Audra is great with color and cuts, I will be referring my girlfriend to her. If you prefer to walk in and do not have time to make an appointment like me, then ask for Audra I am sure you will be delighted with her work.

Found Salon Gil and they made space for me that day. Got there and was taken care of by one of the ladies, I'm terrible with names but she deserves full recognition so I'll say she's the lady set up when you first walk through the door on the left. I'd been growing my hair out for two years and finally decided it was time to cut it. I showed the woman a picture of how I wanted my hair and just let her do what she wanted with it. I was really really nervous at first but she worked magic. I will absolutely be back when it's time for a trim

The stylist we got in the second chair on the right didn't introduce herself to my son at all or speak to him at all. I was told they specialized in mixed hair but the stylist got frustrated half way through and didn't even brush it out completely, she left him completely lopsided with hair everywhere. It was a terrible experience beside hanging out with the front gal!

I am always hesitant and nervous when trying a new stylist, but Kim was very friendly & flexible with her schedule. What was surprising was that Kim told me what look I should have instead of me telling her! I came in for layers, but was suggested to do highlights and root touch-up (due to all my gray hair). At first, I was hesitant (Asian hair+highlights = not many stylists can pull the right color). She has been in the business for many years so trusted her. Plus, she has roots in California so figured she has a good sense of what's "in style." (I always ask how long they've been doing hair). I didn't want to highlight my whole head so she did a bottom partial and colored the top of my head to avoid high contrast between my roots and highlights. In the end, it turned out nicely! I am glad she suggested what she did. There were a couple of bleached out spots but she was able to tone it down. She did not get upset when I told her to fix it. She was patient and always made sure I was happy with each step before she continued. I will definitely come back to see Kim for my future styling needs. If you don't know what look you're going for trust Kim to give you suggestions! If you don't agree, speak up. She won't get offended.

Here's my overall run-down of the experience . . . Pros: - B is very meticulous and does a great job. You can tell she really cares about the quality of her work. Check out my profile photo and you can see her work! - The prices are VERY reasonable. I never get charged more than 110 for the cut and dual-process highlights. You ladies with colored hair know that is a steal. - You don't really need to book your appointments far in advance as they always have good availability. I never make my appointment more than two weeks in advance and have never had trouble getting in. They even take walk ins if you are so inclined. - All of the staff are very friendly. Now the Cons: - Usually they keep you waiting a bit to start your appointment. The sense of timing is pretty flexible around here. You can't be in a big hurry. - IF you are looking for a plush/fancy salon experience, this isn't the place for you. Facility is seriously nothing fancy.
