It definitely feels like a spot to bring a date or group. That was probably my only positive takeaway from this. The menu you came off inauthentic, fancy for fancy sake. Up until this point I ate restaurants that served up authentic Puerto Rican or Latino comfort food. This place felt like a derailment and left me disappointed and unsatisfied. Looking at the menu for one, I didn't see anything that appealed to me. Then some friends pointed out one of the dishes were ropa vieja. I was excited and thought the restaurant had redeemed itself. I thought I was getting ropa vieja with plantains. Instead I got something that resembled piononos and looked like it would leave me hungry. Still, I stayed open minded. I wanted to get piononos during my trip. Truth is, I forgot what I ordered. The food was alright but too salty. Probably the worst thing I had on my trip. I'm not saying it wasn't good because it was decent. I wouldn't order it or recommend it though unless you get an appetizer. Hell, people on my table wondered if it was an appetizer. I'm not the only one who ordered it. The other two who did enjoyed it but one would later admit he thought it was too salty. He didn't want to be a downer on what was already turning into a disappointing dinner. Speaking of, service was slow. I think we waited a hour for our food. It was getting everyone annoyed. One of my friends had ordered mussels alongside a risotto and got tired of waiting. He told them to just pack his mussels to go. At one point they brought another dish that no one ordered. It was meant for a different table. So yeah, it wasn't a great dinner. Needless to say I wouldn't come back here unless I was trying to impress someone.

We caught sight of this scene on Monday and couldn't get that off our minds all week. Before leaving the island we made sure to drop in for a fresh coconut...only to learn this cafe without a menu makes food and beverage to suit your needs. We had plans to get dinner after our coconuts but once we learned what this spot was all about we determined there was no longer a need to go anywhere else. Jonas Serrano is the beautiful mind behind Phyt NYC and has a gym in the same building. He also happens to sometimes be at the cafe ensuring guests with good vibes only are welcomed in. We had the entire space to ourselves on our last night on the island. It couldn't have been more perfect. The food was so good we ordered an extra plate to go for the plane ride the next day. BEST. IDEA. EVER. Thanks to Jonas I had a healthy, delicious meal to keep me satiated on my long haul home. And our last evening in Condado was perfect! After a stressful and busy workweek this was the ideal place to unwind. We had a lovely perch above the busy street below and enjoyed giving Junior (the adorable resident pup) lots of love. If you are a low-key visitor looking for a relaxing space and delicious meal look no further. Don't expect to be served if you are unruly or just looking for your next drink. This is not the place for all that. Have a seat, meet Junior, enjoy the breeze, and if you're lucky, learn a thing or two from Jonas!

The shrimp tacos were good and came with a salad and Cole slaw. The chicken wrap was good. Generous chunks of chicken. They don't have a Yelp listing yet so I posted it here. We had lunch here twice. It's nice to have a 'clean food' spot in the area.

We placed our order inside, grabbed our drinks and pager and sat outside to enjoy the weather. The food was worth the wait! Good portion sizes and fillings were all spot on. We got a pastrami, a Cuban and a chicken sandwich. All were tasty and perfect with that bread. There's a subway on the corner that must only be in business from the people that don't have the patience to wait for this food. DON'T BE ONE OF THEM!
