I had a very unpleasant long tiring day while trying to go to the islands. I went to the ferry terminal at 10 am & found out next boat is 1:30! Paid all this money just to be there , three was no place to even get a cup of coffee. I had to take a cab to come back to this area & found this cafe. everything was just going wrong . Only thing went great was this place . Very nice, homey cafe with good cup of coffee & sweets. I was there probably 2 hours just chilling, talking to the other customers. We came here almost every day during vacation for bfast sandwiches. The service was excellent. Egg, ham, and cheese on sobao bread is a 10/10 as well as the salami and bacon sandwiches. This is a solid sandwich place. Have been here a few times. Think it's only open until the late afternoon though so go early.

We found this place while on vacation in Fajardo in February. It was so good that it became our "go to" place for cafe con leche and media noche sandwiches. We tried several different desserts and pastries as well. Everything was delicious! read more

The food here is SOOO good We had : - sandwich Timon with pan agua , mayo and everything on it - cappuccino - cafe con leche - budin - bebida parcha (which I believe is passion fruit) It all totaled to $30 dollars which is reasonable. PRs Spanish is def quicker than I'm used too lol but service was amazing and so quick. Taste wise everything was great. Got this when driving from Ceiba to Yunque and it's a cute roadside food point with great pastries and sandwiches. My boyfriend had the pollo (chicken) sandwich which he said was one of the best sandwiches he's ever had. Toasted and tasty. I ordered the timón sandwich purely because it was bolded on the menu and also the name of the shop and it was just as amazing, toasted and tasty. The guayaba y queso (guava and cheese) pastry was delicious! Would've been even better if it was toasted but I still loved it. The food was delicious but we had a hard time ordering because we don't speak great Spanish. We thought we were getting three egg type meals but only got two. It was all delicious though! The people were nice but they just weren't great at English I think. Which we understand because we are in their country! We sat at picnic tables and watched a big lizard crawl around and eat crumbs from under tables. read more

Great bread, good breakfast sandwiches but the location is a bit uncomfortable. Nowhere to really sit and eat or park.

After reading all the glowing reviews, we decided to try this place for breakfast. What a let down! There is no inside seating, There are a few tables under a small leaky tin roof on the side. Our orders of eggs and bacon took 30/40 minutes and was disappointing. If you are looking for a pastry or sandwich, this might be the place for you. However, if you are looking for a nice breakfast in a comfortable environment try the Bakery at Villa Marina in Fajardo instead. read more

Humble, tasty, and friendly: this place hits all my requirements for a hearty endorsement. We'll be back more than once to Panadería El Timón and I recommend it for breakfast, lunch, or coffee if you are visiting the Las Croabas, El Conquistador, Fajardo ferries, or Ceiba areas. This time, we came for breakfast (desayuno). It seemed a good sign that we appeared to be the only tourists in the tiny busy place. Two nice ladies behind the counter were handling everything with skillful speed, from taking orders to making coffee drinks to cooking eggs and pressing sandwiches, to handing out completed dishes. I got in line behind an elderly gentleman who was picking up several fresh baked, 2 feet long, sub sandwich-perfect, Puerto Rican-style loaves similar to French bread wrapped in paper bags. I was jealous until I discovered that this same heavenly bread would come butter-filled and press-toasted as a free side on my $3.85 fried egg & ham platter. Score! We wanted to try a bit of everything, so we added a few pastries, a couple of flans, café con leche, and hot chocolate to our egg-based breakfasts. The feast for 3 came to less than $25 total, and everything was fresh and entirely delicious. We ordered in my simple traveler's Spanish (thanks, Señora Wadell of West Brook High!), but both ladies spoke to our young son in English (little did they know that his Spanish is much better than mine, thanks to his Spanish immersion IB school). Though it was only 9:30a, we noticed only after we sat down that most other patrons were eating the hearty stuffed sandwiches. I had half a mind to go back up to the counter and order the Tripleta (3 meats, cheese, and french fries in the mix) or the Timón (pork, swiss, veggies, pickles, condiments, and again, french fries), but we'll just have to come back again next time for these. A small snag in our visit was that we failed to receive one of our ordered items (a vanilla flan). Our drinks & cooked items were called out for pickup first, and then our pastry case items came out one by one later, requiring multiple trips back up to the counter and creating a bit of confusion. By the time we realized the missing dish, we were completely stuffed and ready to leave for our day at the beach, so we just let it go. No hard feelings; this remains one of our favorite meals of our trip and will be on our must-do list for when we come back to PR next year. read more

First of all, the lady at the register with the salt and pepper hair was super sweet and accommodating. But yes the food was great and felt very home-like cooking. Like abuelita was cooking in the kitchen type feel. I only had scrambled eggs since I'm doing a low carb diet and I don't eat meat and black coffee. She was so concerned I wasn't having bread and asked if I didn't want to add anything else to it, so I decided to add some veggies and peppers. She made it into an omelette for me. So so sweet. I definitely recommend if you want a home-like style breakfast with great service and just a lot of love. read more

This small bakery has more to it than it appears! On a 6 day trip to Puerto Rico we ate there THREE times. HIGHLY recommend the tripleta and the el Timon sandwiches. Very affordable. Coffee seem yummy but I'll never know. The reason I say run to your cars and lock the door is because of this place's real masters. The bees! Bees are EVERYWHERE here. Lamentablemente tuvimos una horrible experiencia desde el momento en que entramos por la puerta, el Staff del día jueves 2 de marzo a las 11am. Desde sus expresiones faciales y su tono de voz. Nos atendió una dama de pelo corto rubio. En todo momento buscamos ser amables no empece a que nos trataban con hostilidad ya que tenemos negocio propio, y para nosotros el cliente es nuestras prioridad para subsistir en el mercado. Entre las cosas que experimentamos fue que cuando procuramos por un area donde sentarnos y nos indicaron con hostilidad en donde nos podiamos sentar. La coffeción de la comida es totalmente diferente a lo que se veía en algunos reviews que habíamos observado, en fin, no nos gustó. Pedimos unos vasos de cafe para tomar un liquido por mi salud y nos preguntó para que los quería, algo que nos sorpredió porque podía ser más amable y cobrarme, que estaba dispuesta a pagar por ellos. En un momento dado salió esa misma dama al area donde estábamos y mi esposo le pregunta si es la dueña y le dijo de mala gana que no y se voltio, luego mi esposo le dijo que debería velar por el trato que nos da porque los trabajos están difíciles y le dio nuevamente la espalda y continuo. Lo más triste es que decidimos traer a unos familiar muy especiales que vive en Florida y no han querido regresar a PR por ocasiones como estas y por como se hacen las cosas aquí y recibe este trato. Bajo ninguna circunstancias recomendaría este lugar, es muy penoso, experimentar esto, y para los dueños que confían en su personal que con tanto sacrificio han forjado su negocio. While staying at El Conquestor in Fajardo, we wanted an affordable breakfast alternative to the overpriced breakfast menu at our resort. Panderia El Timon is a quick 10 minute drive from El Conquestor. It's a no frills place that serves breakfast sandwiches and has a lot of pastry options. No breakfast item was over $5 bucks. Very excited. They have basic omelets and egg sandwiches. Seating is available both indoors and outside and parking is accessible in front or around the corner. As a person who speaks English, I was kind of hesitant to wonder out to a "locals place" to find food, but this place didn't make me feel out of place.
