Cuban sandwich with sweet potato fries
    Lily K.

Latin Gyros was a great spot for brunch! We were seated quickly and looked over the menu. This place has an interesting restaurant layout with a staircase in the middle as you walk in. I decided on a cuban sandwich, a favorite of mine. Their cuban was absolutely delicious, warm and full of melted cheese, ham and pork. I would order it again if I were to go back! I got it with sweet potato fries that went great with the mayoketchup dip. My bf got a latte, which had that pretty latte flower art. Great tasting coffee! Perfect way to start your day. He also got the Crazy Aly, which was a cheesy dish with potatoes, eggs, chorizo and bacon. We obviously had to share a sweet french toast to round out the meal. TL;DR: their sandwiches seem good, the Cuban I had was great! Their portions are good, coffee is great as well. Overall I would recommend Latin Gyros to anyone in the area.

Our favorite breakfast spot during our trip to Luquillo! Portions are HUGE, everything is FLAVORFUL, service/vibes are SPECTACULAR. Everyone is friendly and they don't rush you out. The Gyro Breakfast is a MUST. The lamb was so soft and delicious. The home fries the best my husband and I ever had. Pancakes are FLUFFY! Mimosas great and the Cappuccino DELECTABLE!

I had never received such great hospitality. They literally made me feel at home. I had a caramel latte and it was so good. For food, I had the crazy aly and it was so tasty. The portion was huge. I took my leftovers to go and had it for breakfast two days later. I would recommend.

We stopped in for lunch with a large party and were not disappointed. We were seated immediately. The staff were really helpful and the food was well prepared Their breakfast selections are very good. If I had to nitpick something, I had the churrasca gyro and wished the meat was a little more seasoned.

The best breakfast in 2 weeks! The server was personable, helpful and spot on with her recommendations! I had the french toast with fresh fruit and Nutella, large portion , very fresh ingredients and the taste was outstanding! My husband had the veggie omelet and it was what he described as fresh, tasty and large! We will be back before we head back to Massachusetts.

Excellent food, attentive staff, and great vibe. I highly recommend Latino Gyros for breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner. We recommend the chai tea for sweetness, veggie omelette for a healthy choice, and the cuban sandwich and breakfast wrap.

The restaurant is cute on the inside a bit small, but that's no big deal. It is nicely air-conditioned inside, which is always great, haha. Staff was amazing, friendly, and fast. The food was great, but be warned each meal could feed 2-3 people, haha. You will leave stuffed and happy, haha

We decided to try this place after reading other reviews. First time all the way from MD! Food is very tasty and service was beautiful and welcoming. We had coffee (playero) was recommended by the waitress and was very good, we even took one to go. Must have the whip cream though Our food was very good but HUGE PORTIONS! Lol, so please be mindful of that. We got the full brunch, Latin French toast, Greek breakfast and stack of pancakes. Enjoy!

It was really really good but don't come here looking for authentic PR food. It's the kind of food you find in the states.

For appetizer my wife and I shored the Keftedes (meatballs). They came over a yogurt sauce and with a side of arugula. We were a bit disappointed. The taste wasn't bad, but the portion was very small for the price. You get three small meatballs. It's definitely not for sharing. But even for one person it feels a bit high. For the main course my wife ordered the Moussaka and I got the Shrimp Kritharoto and a side Greek Salad. We enjoyed both dishes, as well as the Greek Salad. Keep your n mind this is a small restaurant. There's not a lot space, both inside and outside. We went for dinner and it was packed. We were lucky to get a table inside. It felt like being in a Greek sardine can. Not a place for groups. It is worth eating here, though. We'll be returning to try more dishes and ouzo.

The prices are very high and the menu is a little short, so I would only go once while you're there. They provide fresh baked complimentary bread and a fried ball of what I think was octopus- both were delicious. We ordered the lobster tails and ossobuco. The lobster tails were standard but the ossobuco melted in your mouth. We ordered two desserts. They dressed one up with the happy birthday chocolate additions, very nice. I'm sure they find a way to do that with whatever dessert you choose (it's not free, which makes sense with this type of restaurant). The coffee bean chocolate truffle was amazing though, highly recommend.

We've been to a lot of fine dinning restaurants all over the world and I can say the service was on par with our expectation in a place of this caliber but the food itself was below average. Most of the dishes we ordered were alright, not spectacular or jaw dropping but not bad either. Only exception was the grilled octopus which was overcooked with a large portion completely charred that we had to cut out and ditch. This was the most unexpected for us in a restaurant such as this. Overall I would say this place is ok for a special occasion but if you have other choices maybe pass this over wouldn't make you regret that decision.

My brother and I tried dishes from both menus, and found it to be quite good. As we were walking past, a small sign for 'Grandma's Kitchen' caught our eye. My brother had been encouraging me to try Puerto Rico's national dish: Mofongo - mashed fried plantains. Unfortunately, restaurants were just packed with long waits and I wasn't in the mood to wait outside in the sun for a long time. The door next to the sign stated that it was a restaurant called 'Istanbul'. We peaked inside, and was welcomed warmly by a host, who let us know that the restaurant was both Grandma's Kitchen/Istanbul. There was nobody else dining inside, which was weird considering how every other restaurant in the area was packed. The dishes are made to order, so took a bit of time for it to come out one at a time. Mixed Seafood Stuffed Mofongo ($25) - served in a wooden pilon, the tall and narrow neck was stuffed with the mashed plantains, topped with a seafood blend of clams, dense fish pieces, octopus, and squid. The sauce was really well done, not too rich, but buttery enough to accentuate the seafood. I have to believe the seafood was prepared from frozen, but it tasted really good: a definite notch up from the seafood I've been having on the cruise boats. It was the first time having mofongo, and I liked it. This version had fried plantain chips, mixed with the mash of more plantains. I don't think this version had pork skin rinds, and I didn't miss it. It's extremely dense, so ended up eating maybe a third of it while finishing the seafood. It's a solid alternative to rice, though definitely can't eat too much of it. Doner Kebab ($18) - from the Istanbul portion of the menu, this dish was tasty, though the meat was cooked on a flat top grill like a burger patty, instead of on a vertical rotisserie. The lamb/beef patty was loosely formed and well seasoned, with the accompanying tzatziki sauce being a good add-on. Both dishes were cooked very well, the back kitchen has some skills. Service was friendly throughout. Water is not offered, but guessing they will give to you if asked. Payment was provided after the meal, and they do stick on a mandatory 15% gratuity for all party sizes.

St. Germain Bistro Bar happened to be right across from our Airbnb, and honestly it felt like we got lucky. Even though it was late, they seated us right away and helped us pull together two small tables so our family could sit comfortably. My kids were starving, so that alone was a huge relief. The portions for the kids' pasta and chicken nuggets were a little smaller than expected, but the flavor and quality were excellent. You could tell the food was made with care. I ordered the onion soup and the fried cheese with guava dip and wow. Absolutely delicious. The guava dip especially was incredible. I also had a mojito that was perfectly made. But what really made the night unforgettable was the kindness of the staff. My son had forgotten his inhaler and was having a hard time adjusting to the humidity. He was coughing a lot and clearly uncomfortable. Vianca noticed right away and went out of her way to help. She brought over honey and encouraged him to take a little shot with ginger and honey, then brought hot tea as well. She even suggested things like putting socks on him and using Vicks when we got back. When I mentioned that my kids are half Puerto Rican and their abuela already swears by those remedies, she just lit up and said, "Well you're home then, you already know what to do." That moment really stuck with me. The warmth, the care for kids, the genuine hospitality. It's exactly the kind of Puerto Rican kindness people talk about. The kitchen is small, so service can be a little slower, but it's absolutely worth the wait. The food is great, the drinks are great, and the people make the place special. If you're nearby, definitely stop in. Places like this are why people fall in love with Puerto Rico.
