They are simply the BEST! We first decided to go with a self-install security but it just didn't meet our needs. One issue is that there is the lack of personalized service. This is not the case with Omni Guard. We had a fantastic in-home consultation with Christopher. He walked us through all our options and ways to best protect our family and home. He provided great follow up and has been nothing but responsive to all our follow up questions. Dan completed the instillation and he was fast, efficient, thoughtful, neat, and clean. I was impressed with the reviews on this site and so called Omniguard. I have a simple alarm system already in place that is not monitored -- it is just a loud alarm if someone opens a door or window, which is what I want. My problem was that I had a new front door installed, which disconnected the old wired sensor. I wanted that replaced, plus a few new sensors added to additional windows. Even though my system was hard-wired, it was able to accept wireless sensors, which is what needed to be used. I explained all this to the staff over the phone, emphasizing that I just needed new sensors, and I did not want it monitored. Chris came out within a few days to give a bid, and he was great - prompt, professional, easy-going and nice. He confirmed that wireless sensors could be added to my current system. My problem came when he gave me a bid. He told me he would give me two bids, one just for my old system with a few new sensors (unmonitored), and one with the same system but monitored, just for my consideration. The cost to add a couple of sensors and begin a monitoring contract: $462, which includes the first $50/month for monitoring and committing me to a three year contract. The exact same sensors with NO monitoring? $1639. That's right, $1639 just for a couple of sensors and no contract (and a new 2-way keypad for monitoring, which I didn't want or need). It felt like their goal was to make me feel stupid for not wanting monitoring, even though I made it clear when I called that I did not want that. Chris nonchalantly asked me what I did for a living, which was a thinly veiled attempt to see if he could pull one over on me by using fancy technical language in the bid (sorry, no go). I emailed him, pointing out that it was ridiculous to charge me that much for a couple of sensors, a keypad that I didn't need and a very small amount of work. Here is his exact response: "Let me see what I can do in regards to the keypad. I can also certainly come down a bit in the installation/configuration amount. I will have an answer for you in regards to the keypad by noon. At the end of the day, OmniGuard may not be the best fit for what you're trying to accomplish! But, I am more than willing to help accommodate where I can." Not only did he NOT respond by noon, he NEVER responded. He never sent another email. It's not hard to see that "Omniguard may not be the best fit for what you're trying to accomplish" can be translated to "I don't want to work with you if all you want is a simple unmonitored system -- I won't make enough money on that!" I have no doubt that if the full bells-and-whistles system is what you want, that Omniguard does great work and provides great service. But I was appalled at their attempts to fleece me when I wanted something simpler. Good customer service means giving the customer what she wants, not what you want to sell her. They were totally able to help me out, and they didn't. By the way, I called Security First Alarm after this, they came out, added a few new sensors, reprogrammed my old keypad and motherboard and it works great, all for a few hundred bucks. We bought a house in Vancouver in March, 2016, but could not move in until June. The builder had already installed OmniGuard security and provided 3 months of trial service. This was perfect for us, since the house was going to be empty for 3 months. A day before we left Vancouver, Chris came to the house and spent several hours with us showing how to operate the security remotely. Once we left Vancouver, I had several questions and minor issues, and Chris was always available to answer questions and helped us setting up options online to better manage the home security remotely. We returned to Vancouver in June, and the trial period expired. Chris once again came to our home and explained in detail the advantages continuing OmniGuard security service. We did install few additional components and signed up with Chris for continuing the service. Chris is the primary reason we decide to continue. Late last year OmniGuard Security saved my business. I'm not exaggerating. It was about 10:30 on a Thursday night and I had just gone to bed. Like many people, I sleep with my cell phone on my nightstand. It started buzzing. I answered and it was a customer service agent from OmniGuard passing on a message from the local fire department that the business adjacent to my commercial photo studio was on fire and that I should go there immediately, as requested by the fire officials. When I got on site a policeman escorted me the scene and handed me off to the fire battalion chief who took me over to my studio and allowed me to open the door so his men could check to make sure the fire had not spread to my space. Luckily it hadn't and my studio only sustained smoke damage. The chief told me that had I not been there, they would have likely had to destroy my front door to enter and check the space. Also they wouldn't have had access as early in the process and so the fire might have spread to my area before they would have realized it. I have had OmniGuard for 2 1/2 years I have gotten nothing but the runaround from OmniGuard and their service center my alarm center. Our system has never worked I can never get a tech to come out other than one time and he would not verify that anything was working just proceeded to tell me that I didn't keep my system clean. I called again in May 2019 and today is September 18th 2019. I got a call back today about that service request from me. I then called the number and waited on hold for 30 minutes and that was with typing in an extension to the person that called and said I could reach him directly. Then she told me that she could not help me I asked them to cancel my monitoring because I have switched to ADT. ADT technician that came out said that my system from OmniGuard was not even installed correctly and could not have worked. And yet OmniGuard tells me they can't help me and won't help me that I need to call my alarm center my alarm center says they can't help me but I need to call OmniGuard. Take it from me don't waste your time or money because neither of these guys will help you. Call ADT read more

I chose OmniGuard for my home security system after reading their many 5 star reviews. I have been very impressed and pleased with their customer service and the alarm system they installed. (They came back to my house to fix a problem the same day I called them). I've only had my system in place for a few weeks, but so far everything is working great --- I chose basic motion sensors and window/door sensor option but you can upgrade to a fully automated home system with endless possibilities.... It is apparent they strive to use the latest technology available and have developed a state of the art security system. The installation and monthly fees are competitive with other large scale security systems, but the peace of mind and safety I now feel far exceeds any costs I pay. Working with OmniGuard has been good, but not so much with Alarm.com which is who you call when there's a problem. I've needed to contact Alarm.com and OmniGuard customer service twice in the year since I've had the system I'm not very confident with the people I'm talking with. My alarm went off at 3:34AM this morning. Of course I assumed someone was trying to get in. While that proved (happily) untrue, I've called Alarm.com twice so far today as I'm scared to set the alarm and have it go off again for no apparent reason as it did this morning. The customer service folks don't seem particularly concerned and guess it's just a glitch. I'm waiting for a call back for a tech to come out. Last time it took 2-3 emails and numerous phone calls to get someone to come out. I hope it won't be the same this time. It's difficult to tell who you're working with when a problem arises (OmniGuard or Alarm.com). The tech who came out last time was great, and the same person who installed the system. The challenges I've experienced are not with the tech but with the customer service you have to navigate to try to get the tech to come out. read more

I had a problem with my garage door opener and had called Omniguard several times with no response. This led me to look for another home security provider. After posting my updated review I received a phone call from the owner of the company. He was very polite and apologized. He explained the company was doing some restructuring and some things had slipped in the process. I told him the problems I had experienced. He said he wanted to look into my problems and would call me back. He called back very quickly and found a different solution for my garage door (Z-wave versus Wi-Fi). This conversation was on a Friday and he said someone could be there on Monday to correct the problem. My garage door is now working. While I did experience some problems with Omniguard, until recently they have been extremely receptive and I hope that their service will continue to get back to where it was when I first contracted with them. After checking out the mobile app for their system on their iPhones, I knew this was the one we needed and the price was extremely competitive. OmniGuard is local, responsive and extremely cost effective. Chris and Dan installed a comprehensive system at our house a couple of weeks ago and we are thrilled with the results. First off, the initiation was fast and seamless. I sent an email and within a week they did the walk through, estimate, and the installation. Chris was very thorough in explaining the details of the contract and the system and made good suggestions about what we did and didn't need. The installation was fast -- Dan did a great job putting the system components in discrete places that worked with the layout of our house, and he even dismantled the old system for us. So far, the system has worked perfectly and we really like the functionality of being able to manage it remotely via our phones. Other things we really like is being able to have multiple passcodes for different users (like our dog walker), and the ability to monitor various parts of the system (e.g., it tells us when a window is open). Nobody bothered calling me back and one company had the audacity to suggest I access a website to get my questions answered.
