I bought a package of services here a few years ago and have been going ever since. Gina has created a warm and earthy space that is welcoming and comforting. I have great treatments from Gina (acupuncture), Rose (Reiki) and Chris (massage). All have been excellent. Since I love and need massage, I've returned to Chris 10+ times over the year and he is fantastic. You know how during a lot of massages, you have to tolerate some less-than good moves until the therapist gets going? Or the 'therapeutic' massages that really hurt in the name of healing? Not so with Chris. He knows the human body and has an amazing touch. His massages feel amazing while you're on the table and you'll feel great the next few days as well; he can get to those knots and sore spots and provide real relief. Experience began when I received a text at 10:32AM asking me to come at 11:15 (11AM appointment) because they were running late, I was the first customer, and no one was there yet. I was already on my way. They recommended I go to to the local bookstore to wait. Given the reasons I was seeking reiki and acupuncture, going to a bookstore was not optimal. I killed some time and walked over around 11 (in a second text, she said she might arrive earlier). A few minutes later, I watched them arrive and go inside. At 11:13, I text to ask if I could come up as it was very cold outside. At this point, it had begun to snow. I was told I could come up. I filled out the forms and spoke with the acupuncturist (who was nice and knowledgeable). She explained that she'd insert a few needles, I'd have the reiki, and she'd return to finish. The reiki music was relaxing. I didn't feel any major difference afterwards, which was fine. The acupuncturist returned, we talked more, she gave me some additional information and inserted the rest of the needles and then put on a meditation. At that point, things were fine. A few minutes into the meditation, I hear people talking and laughing. Someone mentioned their friend's father dying but it being something that was expected. The talking and laughing was enough to disturb the session, but given that a relative of mine is ill, hearing those specific comments was triggering and caused my anxiety to spike. At that same time, the lamp that had been placed above my stomach became extremely hot and was causing discomfort. I repeatedly yelled, "Hello" and "Excuse me" to try and get some help. It took a few moments for someone to come because they were engaged in conversation. When the woman who performed my reiki came in, I explained the lamp was too hot and that I could hear their conversation. She apologized, stating that she thought the music in my room was loud enough that I wouldn't hear it. She then moved the lamp. She left and things quieted down. I couldn't refocus and my anxiety was increasing, so I called for someone again to ask to stop the session. The acupuncturist came in (as it was apparently time for the session to end). When I explained what happened, she also offered an insufficient apology, stating that the person who came in was someone they hadn't seen since 2022 and they were just greeting her. She then said that she hadn't heard the talking. I told her it was because I'd called someone in to complain. She then said that the talking had only lasted five minutes and tried to frame the loud talking as "healing" for the person who came in. I told her that one person's healing shouldn't take priority over another's and that in a space like this people should know enough to be mindful. The woman who performed the reiki checked me out. I told her that the experience had been negative and anxiety Inducing. I asked if they offered a discount for the disruption of services. She said they did not. Bottom line, if you don't mind the practicioners arriving late and having to wait in the cold, followed by loud conversation that disrupts the service you are paying for, followed by excuses being made in the name of "healing," (instead of just offering a sincere apology and some sort of discount for their errors), this is the place for you. I attended Ommmango Wellness for a massage after a much needed relaxing day after a longggggg year. It was a bit unclear how to get into the location because the door was locked and no one answered the bell; however, after calling I realized that the massage therapist was not ready as of yet and I was let in shortly. Cleo was my massage therapist and she was absolutely great. The entire space brings calm and relaxing energy. I love the massage room with views of the outside space and plants. The massage was relaxing and Cleo was attentive to my needs. read more

I had a rough experience here. The main provider (Gina) is anti-vax so if you are at all immuno-compromised I would steer clear of this place. Also I waited almost half an hour past when my appointment was booked. Once I started the appointment I was immediately very disappointed by the presumptuousness of the provider. She blatantly told me the reason I've been sick is the Covid vax and refused to believe it could be anything else. I had no issues after receiving 3 vaccines in total so this claim was completely unfounded. She told me not to get the next covid vaccine. She also told me I should go off my psychiatric mediation, which is completely inappropriate, considering I have a psychiatrist I work closely with for medication management, and I never told the acupuncturist that I was worried about my medication. She told me not to get a new IUD, when I have had one for 5 years with no issues. Again, this was not one of the concerns I brought up and I was very taken aback. I was also told to eat cold foods only, which makes no sense to me. After my session, she left a needle in me that I found when I left. The receptionist also did not understand how billing and insurance works, and told me I owed a grand total of $20, when I found out over a week later that I owed an additional $90. I would not go back here, nor would I recommend this place to anyone. If you're anti-vax and into pseudo science, this is the place for you! I believe Eastern and Western medicine can and should work together, not in opposition. Holding the view that it needs to be one or the other, like this practice does, is dangerous. read more

I came to Gina for acupuncture to help me with Premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). I have been struggling with this for nearly two years. Every month for about 12 days I experience deep depression as a result of my PMDD. I have been coming to her every two weeks. For the first time I went through my cycle with no depression. I felt great! Additionally, I love that Gina talks to me prior to my session, every time we meet to see how I'm feeling in that present moment. Sometimes I may have a pain here or there and Gina will target my physical pain as well as my mental and emotional. I just had a baby 6 months ago and my body was aching to the bone. I had not received a massage since giving birth, but it was due time since I just returned to work today. I booked an appointment for massage and ended up getting both body work and acupuncture. It was amazing. Let me tell you about Ommango... I didn't feel like I was in Brooklyn, on Fulton St. in Fort Greene right beside Cafe Habana. Instead, I felt like I was at a mountain retreat since the whole studio/apt was empty except for us and while I was getting treated Gina left the backdoor that leads to the deck open - so I could feel wafts of wind. Gina has magic hands. She would hit a spot that was knotted and I would make a sound and she instructed me to moan, grunt, or do whatever I needed to let the energy leave my body. She does holistic treatments that focus on connecting every aspect of our psychic and physical lives. My body felt like it had released so many toxins, I was literally weightless after the massage. So, when she asked me if I wanted acupuncture, I just nodded "yes". Now, I have had TWO main fears in my life: 1) Tokophobia (giving birth) - pretty much conquered that. 2) Needles. I can't say enough kind words about Gina and her Accupuncture practice. First of all, her place is immaculate and the perfect atmosphere for relaxation. I have been going to Gina's practice for about a month after I decided that self care was sorely missing in my routine.
