If you've ever wished you could step into a cozy breakfast scene straight out of a movie, Savannah…read moreMoon Bakery & Cafe is your spot. It's quaint, charming, and has that small-town, heartwarming vibe that makes you want to linger over your coffee a little longer. I ordered the Homemade Hash and Eggs, and it was almost perfect. The portion is hearty, so much so that I couldn't even finish it. But here's the kicker: the dish had absolutely no seasoning. None. Not even a sprinkle of salt and pepper. As someone who loves bold flavors, I found that strange. Thankfully, they had salt and pepper on hand, so after a generous shake (okay, several generous shakes), it turned into exactly what I hoped for: hearty, satisfying, and delicious. The coffee was solid but mild. I'm a "give me an extra espresso shot" kind of girl, so I would have preferred something a bit bolder. They offer basic creamer and sugar options, but I didn't notice any flavored coffee or syrups, so if that's your thing, keep it in mind. If you're a simple coffee drinker, you'll be just fine. What really sets Savannah Moon apart, though, is the service. The girl who greeted and served me was friendly and super sweet, exactly what you'd hope for in a place like this. She was genuine in a way that made me feel like a regular, even though it was my first time here. Overall, this is the quintessential breakfast spot. The prices are average in comparison to most of the sit-down breakfast spots I frequent. It's not trying too hard, it's warm and welcoming, and it just feels like the kind of place you want to visit again (and I definitely will).

I was there for breakfast, and had a Lavazzo cup of coffee, corned beef/potato hash with two basted eggs, and it was delicious. The corned beef hash was not prepared by a chef with precise knife cuts, but how I would do at home--irregularly cut potatoes, onions--it looked like hash! My friend had Eggs Benedict, and she told me they were perfectly delicious. And guess what? Bill was right at $25! Our server was a friendly, attentive young woman, who took good care of us. Run, don't walk, for an amazing breakfast at Savannah Moon Bakery, in downtown Thomasville. Their downtown deserves its own entry on social media.

We were greeted with a smile the second we walked in, and our server was friendly and attentive the whole time. A+ for vibes and service. Now, the food... oof. We started with the appetizer special of the night, which, shockingly, was the best thing we had--and it was aggressively mid. Everything that followed? Two thumbs down. The peas I ordered as a side; I swear were marinated in red onion slivers for several decades. Even after picking out all the visible onion, (as shown in pictures) it still tasted like Shrek's bathwater. If I had ordered this on a first date, I would've just gone home to save us both the trauma of onion breath. There's no way a single person has ever eaten this dish and said, "Wow, that was delightful." I'd actually pay money to see the facial expressions of anyone taking a bite. My partner's mashed potatoes? So dry and dense I could've thrown them at a wall and they'd stick. Come back the next morning and they'd be holding up drywall. Not a single drop of moisture in sight. I asked for crushed red pepper for my flatbread (thinking maybe it could be saved). No - No pepper flakes. Apparently none of their flatbreads are allowed joy or spice. Even if they did have red pepper, I don't think it would've saved it. Best thing we had all night? My partner's chicken. And even that was dry. So, that says a lot. Final verdict: come here for a drink and a snack before going somewhere else for the actual meal. It's a great pregame spot, but if you're hungry-hungry, keep walking.

Jesse was our server, he did an incredible job. As someone who worked in hospitality for 10 years, I give the food and the service 10 stars. I watched as the other employees handle a high maintenance customer with kindness and respect, which shows how well they treat their customers. Can't wait to go back, thanks again, Jesse!

Got their version of BamBam Shrimp on a bed of greens.to start. Presentation was on a bed of chopped iceberg lettuce, no side plates were offered, and we used our single paper napkin to keep our silverware off the table and wipe our mouths. No linen napkins. I did surf n turf, medium well which most kitchens struggle with. No different here, cooked well all the way through. Baked potato was genuinely cool to the touch. Collard greens were excessively seasoned with vinegar. Not good at all. The presentation was shockingly bad, one side on my plate had a rim of black pepper, the other side had a rim of butter from the shrimp, that's my best guess. Shockingly bad. My wife ordered ribeye medium rare. The outer part was well done and the inside was very rare, cook temperature way too high. Baked potato cool to the touch again. From my seat the kitchen looked chaotic and undisciplined, no quality control at the pass at all, no floor manager present anywhere to be seen. Sometimes my view was blocked by employees clocking in to work. This table should be the last to be assigned period. Non culinary folks could find easy ways to improve this place, linen napkins, side plates, hot food, precision cooking etc. The lack of oversight for the food preparation and presentation of the food killed the experience for sure, no supervision or management of the kitchen and food.

Last night we came to celebrate my son's birthday. We were seated promptly for our reservation. Service was great with our server telling us if the specials (the daily blue and the yellowtail collars they had as an appetizer). We ordered a round of drinks for the table. All was going well. The smoked fish dip was good - a solid performer. We especially liked the pickled veg that came along side it. Our mains consisted of the daily blue, two had the new chicken sandwich, and I ordered the duroc aged pork chop. Liam's is fancy now, with mains not coming with sides. This certainly cranked up the bill. I had the pork chop, which was really small despite the declared weight and the price of $45. The taste was good, but didn't really impress me. The daily blue had skin that was charred, but the fish part was good. My daughter wasn't impressed with that. The chicken sandwiches, however, were a hit. Go figure. All but the daily blue ordered a side dish. Two had the mashed potatoes, which were good, I ordered the side with stringy cheese, prosciutto, peaches, and sliced peppers. No flavor. I get the bill and there is a $9.40-something charge in there for a "non-cash transaction". Also, my two drinks were charged a dollar more than the menu price. With everything there at a premium price (a larger and much better pork chop can be had at St James for more than $10 less - with sides!), everything is a la carte, and a silly charge for not having cash means I'm done with Liam's. The place where I discovered my first and favorite scotch, a love for unique cheeses, and great cooking techniques has been outdone by at least one local competitor while increasing prices and serving less. It's a shame, but they never seem to be full, so instead of improving value and delivery, they've gone to increasing prices.
