If you are want your construction project done right choose Omega! Julio and his sons deliver quality with heart. My 1960's addition to a 1919 home was a disaster hidden by under textured walls and ceilings. Omega found numerous oh ohs once the walls were opened. While it did significantly increase the cost, I know the framing, electrical and heating are corrected. Also the contractor Julio with some help from his sons performed all the work! This bedroom had three windows where the new slider is and a window added for cross ventilation in a stucco bldg. Here are some pics of the old room and the finished product. In 2017, we contracted with Omega to replace our toilets (among other things).  In one of the bathrooms, there is a countertop over the toilet.  Because the toilet Omega purchased was too tall, they installed the toilet WITHOUT the tank cover and left it as is. read more

I hired Omega Construction to do repairs and painting on my old house in the Heritage District. Previous owners had done some faulty things, and there was a lot of deferred maintenance. Julio and his crew were completely up to the task of the myriad problems encountered in fixing this old house. They spotted problems I didn't know I had and offered many solutions to many problems. They are also creative and have a good vision for color and appearance of the house. Things I want to let you know specifically are, that Julio has years of experience working on historic homes in San Francisco and elsewhere. He has immense pride in his workmanship and skill set, is ethical, and cares very much about the finished project. He does not cut corners, and does things right the first time. Julio and his crew are great communicators. We check in almost every day, and he always lets me know what he is thinking and planning for the repairs and painting. When I have had worries and concerns, he addresses them and eases my mind. I have complete confidence in his decisions. They show up reliably everyday at 8 a.m. and put in a full days work 6 days straight. Lastly, Julio's crew is his family! His wife Maria handles the business and city permits and office work, and brings lunch to the crew every day. They have 5 sons, and 4 of them are old enough and skilled enough to do the work. I enjoy them all as people and have fun talking to them. I think you will too. We hired Omega Construction for my Mom's kitchen remodel on April 5, 2017. I requested a quote by emailing them and Maria responded to my inquiry right away. She was able to schedule Julio to come out the next day. Upon our meeting with him, we knew right away that we wanted to hire Omega Construction for our kitchen remodel. Julio was very professional and provided us with brilliant ideas and options for a new kitchen. An estimate with the breakdown of the work (explaining all work to be performed and all material costs) was emailed to us shortly after our meeting with Julio; I believe it was sent that same evening. Omega Construction's pricing was very reasonable and they were able to accommodate our budget based on what we wanted out of our project. Three weeks after we signed contract and submitted our down payment (so they can order the materials cabinet, quartz counters, etc), Julio and his team began the kitchen demolition. They typically worked from 7am-4pm, Monday to Friday. They completed everything within 3 weeks with a minor delay since the vendor for the backsplash sent the wrong items and materials had to get reordered. However, this only delayed the project by 3 days. Once all of the minor touch ups were finished, Julio scheduled the City Inspector to complete inspections . Permit inspections passed on 5/23/17. Overall, we are extremely happy with Omega Construction. Julio and his team are very efficient and their work is impeccable. Julio and Maria were very responsive and promptly answered our questions and provided us with great feedback. I look forward to working with them again in our future home projects. Julio and family worked on my wood siding chimney. Seemed frivolous to some but when the rains come all that water is going to damage my house as it already damaged the chimney. We were looking for a local construction company we could trust. We went on yelp and the best company was Omega Construction and Handyman Service. We reached out to them, and Maria got back to us soon after and set up an appointment for an estimate. We needed a complete remodeling of our bathroom. We're talking everything from top to bottom (new sink, floor, insulation, toilet, shower, tub, electrical, pipes, walls, and we even wanted a new window). We hired Omega Construction to fix my son bath tub and tap hot water for my guest room. When we purchased the house Seeno did a rush job and didn't put the tub correctly. When my son shower it felt like the tub will drop down to the first floor and you can hear the squeak noise. For our guest room we never knew that we didn't have hot water until my sister moved in with us. Seeno again didn't not connect or tap it for hot water. All these year we just have cold water. Our guest have to go upstairs to shower. They guys and his crews did a excellent job! They show up on time got the job done less then 5 hours. Very professional and know what they're doing. We literally started looking for a contractor around March. We contacted 3 different contractors and one of them was omega construction. I saw the reviews and the pictures and I saw how active they were on yelp as well. So when we met up with Julio and Maria, we kinda already knew that we wanted to use their services. It helped that it was a family owned business so it was like meeting and trusting another family and that they were local here in Vallejo. When we first started with the estimates, we knew that it will be a big project. We have a 1950s house and it hasn't been renovated since then...so there were molds and we also had an issue in using a contractor who isn't licensed. We had my grandmas bedroom fixed as well as the living room and the bathroom and the front windows. Julio even fixed the kitchen sink, paint the front of the house and fixed/added electrical wirings and he even fixed all the pipes. I love how quick and efficient they work that they finished everything within a month. I also like that it was easy to communicate with them especially with Maria, since we had to change the name of the invoices. We know that we are not done with the renovations and we will be using omega construction again hopefully in the near future. Julio was unreliable and wasted a lot of my time. I asked him to come to house to give me an estimate on fixing a bunch of stuff. He said nothing is worth fixing and just want to replace everything new. I asked him to give me a price quote for both repair and replace, and then I will decide. He said okay but never came back with any numbers. I ended up hiring someone else was able to fix everything except for one at a fairly reasonable price. read more

Maria runs the back office of the business, and was super responsive and on top of all scheduling and money items. The short story, for those who skim reviews: Omega Construction is the best! Stellar communication, polite and professional workers, and top-notch work with quality materials! For those who like the unabridged story, please read on. Upon purchasing our 1987 manufactured home, in September, we hired the "local favorite" contractor, who had done work on the home before the sale, to replace all of the HVAC ducting under the house. The job was supposed to be finished before we moved in, but wasn't actually completed until more than a week later. Nevertheless, because a number of our neighbors raved about the quality of his work, we hired him again, for two jobs that were supposed to take less than a week. His workers began one of the jobs--very poorly--and after a series of no-shows and no-contacts that stretched over more than a month, we considered the job abandoned, ordered quality parts, and finished the botched job ourselves. (And later learned that the other job he'd recommended was completely unnecessary.) Shortly after this, we discovered large soft spots in our kitchen floor (which was covered in brand new linoleum). We found a new contractor with a reported 40 years' experience repairing mobile and manufactured homes, and he came out at the end of January to give us an estimate. He suspected leaky plumbing might be spraying upward and softening the subfloor, and he gave us a verbal quote for the repair. Two weeks later, our claims adjuster came out and advised that there was no way to confirm the cause of loss as water damage until the flooring was cut open to reveal the pipes beneath, as the plumbing was enclosed within a moisture barrier. We called the new contractor again, to hire him, and more than once he said he was on the road and would call us back, but failed to do so. After a few more calls from us, he scheduled the job for March 4. The night before, he called us to say he'd been injured with a circular saw and would call us back to schedule the job for the following weekend. We had no confidence that he would call us (he never did), so the next day, my wife contacted three contractors directly from their Yelp pages to request estimates. WITHIN FIVE MINUTES, Maria from Omega Construction replied by email and arranged for Julio to come to our house two days later. We had a detailed WRITTEN estimate by the end of that business day, and by the end of that week, Julio and Eric had come out and completed the job. (Incidentally, there was no water leak--thus no insurance claim--rather, the problem was that our floors are made of 3/4" PARTICLE BOARD.) Oh, and those other two contractors from whom my wife had requested estimates? The second one called the day Julio and Eric were repairing our floor; we never heard from the third. We are so pleased with the professionalism of everyone at Omega--evidenced by both their excellent communication and their quality work--that we will be hiring them in the future to replace the substandard plumbing that the previous owners had failed to replace when it was fully covered by a recall. read more

We also had Julio replace our hot water heater, he and his son did the job, we also had him and his team do some electrical work. I recently purchased an old home, and contacted Omega to help with some renovations, starting with a kitchen remodel. I left a voice message, and Julio responded almost immediately. We met, I explained my plans, and we set a date that week. Julio was very receptive to requests, helpful with advice, and took the time to answer my questions and explain things in detail when I asked. They started right away, and sent me updates throughout the day to let me know how the project was coming along. As the work went on, it became evident that there were numerous other issues that we had not expected, including poor wiring, plumbing issues, removal of load-bearing structures, rot within the walls, and leaky windows. Julio was very adept and professional at handling all of them. He kept me constantly updated on any issues he encountered, and was able to tackle each of them without any problem whatsoever. While he was there I asked him to take care of a few other items I hadn't got to yet, which he happily did for a fraction of the cost other contractors had quoted. In the end, what was supposed to be a straight-forward kitchen remodel ended up being a tangle of issues leftover from previous owners, but my home was in very good hands; Julio and his workers are very knowledgeable about their work and they are very skilled, flexible, and accommodating. I read a lot of reviews of the local contractors in my area and decided to go with Omega Construction. I called for an estimate and Julio came out the same day to estimate the work needed on some flooring issues in my bathroom. We agreed on the price on new flooring and other services in my bathroom and we were ready to go. As Julio was working on my bathroom, he made sure I understood what he was doing throughout the day. There were a few more issues he found as he was working and he explained in detail what needed to be done. I always expect some issues to come up as our house is older, built in the 1960s. Julio's team worked very well and they cleaned up nicely afterwards. The flooring was reinforced and looks really nice. A vanity, mirror cabinet and toilet bowl were installed perfectly. I had them out about a month ago for a job walk of exterior repairs and painting for a whole house. Julio came and walked the project. He took no notes, pictures, or measurements. I asked him why no notes? He said he's done a 100 of these jobs and will remember...... SO, he left details out of the quote and tried to charge for plans and permits for a repair and maintenance job. When I questioned him on these things I got no response. I guess when I told him I work with contractors in SF for a living he didn't believe me because his quote was way over the top. No. No. And NO. Contacted them in early September for a simple fence replacement and repair. They told me they could start mid October. Did an estimate Sept. 19, I had a few minor questions and changes on the original estimate. I wrote to them requesting the revised estimate and wrote that I was planning on using them. After a couple weeks I got a call from the office person and we went over details, she said I would be getting an estimate soon. I waited and waited. Sent another email and no response. Sent another one TODAY--Oct 17, The week they said they would be able to start the work, asking where the estimate was and what should I do. They sent me a curt email telling me that they are way too busy and to find someone else. WOW. Left me hanging for almost 6 weeks.
