I order the chicken popcorn. Sat in a waiting area in the front. The order took about 10-15 mins as there were people already there before me. Now comes the tasting part of the chicken popcorn. It was not good. It was dry and did not seem fresh. I can taste the oil in the chicken, it seems to be old oil. For someone that's used to eating at Don's on bellaire, this place is not bad for the area! I love how they cut the ends of their banh mi so it's not hard and easier to eat. The meat is flavorful and bread is the perfect crisp. As for the bulgogi fries, I like how have some sauce on the side in the case you would like to dip. Fries are nice and thick. The only downside is that there was not that much meat, especially when you're paying $7+ for it. Om Nom Cafe is a delight to the neighborhood since there really isn't a Bahn Mi place located around the Harvest Green/Aliana area of Richmond, TX. Yes, there are Vietnamese restaurants, but not a "Casual, here for a quick bite" kind of place. The space is clean and modern and the service is friendly. The location just opened so they told me both times I came here, that it will take 10 minutes or so to make my sandwich. I'm okay with that, as long as it's good. I'm sure as the place matures, that may change, or it may not. In either case the bahn mi was good. Was it the BEST I ever had? No. IMO that honor goes to Vietwich in Stafford. They USED to be close to this neighborhood but moved away. So for now, we have Om Nom and it's not bad. TRY IT.
