Olympus board shop suck. adding to my disappointed in there service again. The P-tex repair I got done here failed after 2 days of powder riding? wtf? did they not wax it after? let it cool down maybe? or they just blow at it. I got a full service repair done for $59 and a free beer in Steamboat colorado to fix the shabby workmanship done at this shop. You would think it would be more expensive in a ski town like steamboat but no. Com paired to the $75 silver package at Olympus I would rather drive 1000 miles to have it done by someone who actually snowboards and knows what they are doing. F this place in the A read more

I went in for snowboard gloves, got what I needed. a little scant on the selection, but this ma-n-pa type store can't compete with the big places - they had what was going to sell. I didn't need wrist guards embedded in my gloves, (already have a set) but I needed just the glove. needless to say, they were life-savers, the DaKine ones i bought were perfect, and reasonably priced. I will definitely come back to check out their boards at the end of the season! they really are knowledgeable about the gear from what I overheard. read more

Came here a few months ago for a board with my boyfriend. We ended up leaving with some new boots, gloves for us both, and more. Great service, great dudes. Will return once season is back. read more

Hands down, the best snowboarding shop for hard gear in the LA area. I've been going to Olympus since it first opened. Actually, I've known the owner, Jeremy Godokiss, since 1996 when he worked at SkiSurf Shop in Redondo. He outfitted me with my first board, boots and bindings there, and my boyfriend bought my next board from him at Olympus. Jeremy is amazing and he genuinely wants everyone that rents or buys from him to have a stellar experience. If he doesn't have what you want or need, he will be happy to point you in the direction of where you can find it. I give Olympus, Jeremy, and the rest of his staff, my highest recommendation. You won't find anyone more committed to making sure you have what you need to have a stellar day on the mountain. They sell, rent, and maintain/repair all your equipment, as well. They even have a stone grinder. If you skateboard or kayak, Olympus is definitely a shop you should check out, but I go for the snowboards, excellent service, and because I think Jeremy is the coolest~You should see him do back flips (read: layouts) on the hill....so rad! Dingo is the store's mascot. Be sure to give her some love. And if you see a 6 ft blond hottie with pretty blue eyes and a beautiful smile, hands off...that's Michelle...Jeremy's long time love...she's rad, too~ read more

The best (and only) snowboard shop in the South Bay. Rentals are as cheap as you can find and they offer discounted lift tickets. Also, went in today because my inner lining lace broke in my snowboarding boots. 20 minutes later I walked out with a new part. Give these guys a look for anything snowboard and paddle board related! read more

We are so lucky we found this shop ... this family of five is up in Whistler riding boards they recommended... Never Summer Boards and bindings .. we took a chance and trusted their expertise. We are in awe. These boards are incredible. They set us up perfectly and everyone is riding on a dream. I have a bad hip and am flying ... not catching an edge and loving every moment. This could have never happened without them. Thank you!!! Fans forever :) thank you for the hours of advice and for these amazing pieces of heaven we click on and hit the powder with now .... read more

Olympus Board Shop - Thank you - John and Amy and kids - Ski & Snowboard Shops Near Me - Carson, California

Hidden gem of a board shop. I always prefer to shop small instead of at the big monster retailers. I thought Arthur and Chris were awesome guys and made the buying experience memorable. Very excellent service. Plus, they gave us free beer while we waited. What else could you possibly want? Shop...here...now!! read more

Really impressed with the customer service, knowledge, and friendliness of the staff here. We wanted to get some gear for our first trip to Mammoth and Jeremy and Taco were very friendly and helpful with their advice about boards and boots. They were very patient with us trying on the boots, and gave us a nice deal on last years boots. Great local boardshop and what others said about caring more about relationships than sales is right on. read more

Snowboard shop in the winter, stand up paddle boarding shop in the summer. These guys are great! Jeremy the shop owner is amazing. Super friendly, super knowledgeable and all around a great local business to support. Went on quite a few paddle boarding trips in Redondo Beach with the crew there. Best prices in southern California to get outfitted with rental gear (board, paddle) and a lesson! Love these guys. Can't wait to get back out on the water with them! read more

Really good snowboard rental prices and they know their stuff. 10/10 would recommend!

Had my first SUP Lesson this morning with my amazing instructor Stefania. First the owner Jeremy was awesome. My wife got me the lesson for my birthday and he was very helpful and answered all her questions and promptly replied to all emails...My instructor Stefania was so cool and relaxed and did an awesome job of making me feel comfortable. She taught me all the basics and allowed me to progress at my own rate making sure that she spent time to teach me the proper techniques. We hit the open water where I quickly learned ho w to successfully fall off the board but there was no tension we just hopped back on and visited the sea lions and came back. I feel amazing and will take more lessons and plan on purchasing a board from Jeremy once I get my sea legs under me. Thanks You I had an awesome time you guys Rock!!! read more

This is THE place to go in the South Bay. This is were we have bought all our snow boards and SUP's. Good selection of good stuff, they wont try to sell you some budget Walmart boards that you really dont want. Great knowledgeable staff that knows what they sell. read more

Jeremy, On behalf of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Los Angeles Harbor and the members that were able to attend the trip, THANK YOU! For many of our members, this was a life changing experience. The opportunity you provided our members was not only an opportunity to try stand up paddling, but a lesson in conservation and oceanography. This was my first time seeing you instruct a lesson and I've got to say, it blew me away. You were definitely in your element and it was fun to see! As we drove back to our San Pedro & Wilmington Clubs (and before all of the kids fell asleep from a fun-filled day), our members expressed their gratitude and appreciation for you and the Olympus Team and the overall experience they had. Even Neyo (who spent more time falling than actually standing up) couldn't stop smiling the whole way home. Thank you for kicking off the summer for our teens with such an amazing experience! See you on the water very soon. Anthony Luna read more

Bought a skateboard for my daughter last year and these guys were great. when the hubby and i decided to take stand up paddle board lessons, we knew olympus was the place. we went out with jeremy today and it was FANTASTIC. he was so encouraging, kind and helpful. i was pretty nervous and he was so patient with me. we were out for about 3 hours and he taught me several strokes i would need. we cruised passed the seals and the bay was so alive! fish were actually jumping out of the water. we stayed in the harbor... tried to venture into the ocean but was pretty rough (for me). didn't fall in but almost! jeremy hooked my husband and i on this sport and i'm so excited to do this together! the only bummer is my husband fell in and lost his wedding ring... time for an upgrade! oh and we love taco too!!! read more

Ok went back for a second visit and delt with a guy TACO! yooo!!! he is the *!@&@ man! He gave me a qoute and that was great. He even stood by his qoute unlike some other shops who do the bait n switch.I will always come back here as well as reff my friends to this shop. Thanks again for all your time Taco! read more

I've never reviewed on Yelp but the service by Brian at this shop was so good, I had to open a Yelp account just to publicly praise him! Specialists, knowledge, customer care-Brian is one of the best I've ever encountered at any retail - hands down! Andreas read more

This place is tiny AND busy, which is a good sign for business. There are only 2-3 people in the shop at a time and when busy season hits you're most likely going to wait. If you want something done the same day, forget it or they'll charge you $10 extra for a rush job. So be prepared to give yourself lead time and leave your stuff there if you need a wax or a tune up. A big plus, they offered me beer while I waited! The guys know their stuff and can set you up with any gear you want and help you be a better boarder by helping you select the right equipment and perfecting your stance. read more

My family and I have been customers of Olympus Board Shop for over 15 years. From the first time we went in to buy a snowboard, Jeremy (the owner) had great customer service and was nothing but helpful. Along with Taco and some of the other staff, they helped make sure I got on the right size board for my height, and helped me pick the right deck and bindings to match the type of riding I was going to do. Since then we've bought numerous boards, boots, bindings, goggles, etc. and sent many friends and family in to buy and rent boards as well. The vibe is great, the people are knowledgeable and actually snowboard/ski regularly so they know what they are talking about. If they're busy with other customers, they always invite you to take a seat on the couch to watch some videos and offer you a beer while you're waiting. Highly recommend Olympus for both experienced and beginning snowboarders/skiers. read more

Aaron was at the launch waiting for us. He got the 4 of us set up and we were off onto the water. It was a great day. Thank you Jeremy. Doug read more

I had rented boards from other shops with limited success in control and comfort. These guys listened to how the other boards felt and recommended a different shaped board and actually measured my stance. The board worked much better and allowed me to have a much better day on the slopes. I was able to go faster and corner harder just based on the type of board I was given - and these guys knew how to make that happen. I'll definitely be back. read more

Yo, WASSUP TACO!! that guy is the man, and knows how to hook you up. All the guys there know whats good. I went in there with an old board and bindings. I bought new boots and bindings, but taco was telling me my board was way too wide. It would be like snow boarding on a plank of wood. He assured me he wasn't trying to sell me a new board, but insisted on talking with Jeremy (the store owner) about trading my board for something more suitable. And that was exactly what happened. I traded my old burton, for a barely used pre-owned board. Im super stoked. I always go to Olympus. I would call ahead and make sure the store is not uber busy. If it's not, be prepped to get hooked up. ** talking to taco is always trip. that guy has some hard bro lingo going on. I love it.. his personality always reminds me to slow life down, and say "wassup". wassup olympus board shoppppppp read more

These guys are great! Knowledgeable and very helpful. They take the time to thoroughly explain things and answer questions. I bought my fiancé's snowboard, bindings, and boots here a couple of years ago, and got an awesome deal. Protip: They have great sales during the offseason, especially during the end of November to mid December. We live in West LA, but drive out here whenever we need our boards waxed or need something repaired. Today's visit involved getting my fiancé's Nitro boots repaired. The shoelaces broke and they replaced and re-laced them for free. Can't recommend this place enough! Thanks Jeremy + team! read more

This place is located right next to Scardino's on Torrance Blvd and can be easy to miss. It's a small little shop with lots of merchandise! I came in to get my snowboard waxed yesterday 10 minutes before close but these guys were really nice and welcoming. They also only charge $10 for a hand wax if you leave it overnight. I needed it right away and they charged me $15 which I think is still a fair price. Sports Chalet charged that much for the machine wax and we all know hand waxing is much better. I love supporting small businesses so I intend to come in here every chance I get to help keep these guys in business! If you're looking for some boards or gear, come check these guys out! They're really helpful and aren't pushing to sell things. They really want the best for the customer. read more

Owner is a cool guy. Knowledgeable a about his products and was able to recommend other options for products.

These guys are great. They only carry what they think is the best product. And with their experience they know what they're talking about. Pricing is AMAZING. Amazing work (waxing and resurfacing my board) and customer service. I'd recommend Olympus to any friend

People travel from all over just to shop/hang. My last visit a family from New Zealand were in and another couple just drove from the Valley to pick up gear. I personally drove from LA to pick up some Nitro boots. Well worth IMHO. They carry a very distinct selection of quality gear at prices that you wont believe. STELLAR service whether it be Gino, Taco, Jeremy or whoever. They provide customer care that is frankly...... bar none. Rarely do shop helpers give you a big smile and 0 attitude after having them custom fit multiple boots for you. Gino to be precise made sure that my smaller left foot felt just as comfy as my right foot for every boot i tried. The OBS crew has taken care of me since 08/09 season and there are many more that they have silently and patiently taken care of over the years. This is your one stop shop. Ive said before and will do again this is a shop that is RAN BY THE PEOPLE FOR NONE OTHER THAN THE PEOPLE. They make my every trip worthwhile and that is an understatement. They take credit cards but one word of advice... CASH is KING : ) read more

The guys here helped get me all set up with a new board, boots, and bindings (that are actually from this decade! I was in need...) I would definitely support local businesses like this and pay the extra 10-15% that it costs compared to some online retailers simply because of their service, knowledge, and attention to detail. read more

Great shop for SUP surfers! Everyone is incredibly knowledgable, a great change compared to the usual surf shop. Was first introduced to them when my quickblade paddle started taking on water and they were able to fix it. Also, purchased a new paddle at discount from them and had the option to demo several others which was a great experience before my actual purchase. Plus they do an excellent job at putting rail tape on the board. Highly recommend and look forward to returning when it is snowboard season! read more

Olympus board shop is by far as good as it gets. The staff is not only very knowledgeable but they are super duper friendly and personable. I rented from the shop twice before I finally decided to purchase and new board, boots, goggles, gloves and helmet from them. Jeremy the owner definitely adds to the quality and customer service that is so hard to find. The people at Olympus make you feel like you're a good friend. I have referred countless friends, family and customers of mine that have been amazed by their service. When I first came to Olympus I knew nothing about snowboarding or what I needed. They took their time and went out of their way to provide me the tools and knowledge I needed to become the avid snowboarder I am today. Thank you Olympus for being so freaking awsome!!! I'm so glad I found this shop! After a bad experience of renting at Mt. High, we decided that we would rent our boots prior to heading up there. Renting snowboarding boots from Olympus was a good experience and the guys working at the shop are super chill and nice. The day I came to pick up, nearly every employee asked how I was doing even though the tiny shop was full of customers! Each set of boots cost $15 per day of use. We came in on Friday to place our rentals on hold - this included filling out a liability form and trying on the shoes which were both great quality and clean. I came back on Sunday to pick them up and my boyfriend dropped them off on Tuesday. They don't charge for the pickup or drop off day which is awesome. Olympus contributed to one of our most smoothest snowboarding trips yet. We definitely will be returning in the near future and even more so considering that they said we can call ahead next time so they can prepare our rentals beforehand, now that they have our information! read more

Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Same day rental pickup and even willing to give you an extra day to return depending on the circumstance of when you're renting/riding.
