The other was a suit I had worn once. I bought that suit from a very reputable store and their tailor did the alterations on it. I was foolish and did not try it on until the day before I was going to wear it to a wedding. Holy crap! The pants were way too short and the sleeves on the jacket were not only short but uneven. I had no choice but wear it and looked like a clown. I brought both suits to Ann Harrington at Take me to the cleaners and she could not help but laugh when I showed her a picture of me in the suit. Ann said she would do what she could but that I shouldn't expect too much. The outcome was unbelievable. She had to add extra fabric to the pants and the sleeves because the butcher had not left enough material. Absolutely everything fit perfectly! What a fantastic job she did. The pants were supposed to be 29 inches and Ann measured then and said they were 23. I thought I was going to have to thrown the suit away but thanks to Ann I now have 2 suits that fit beautifully. Old fashion quality and workmanship and at a reasonable price. Could not ask for more and I will NEVER go any place else again. Thank you so much Ann, you are great. I didnt hear of Mr Tara through advertisements or yelp or google ads. He was reccommended by a friend of mine who knows a thing or two about clothing. Yes, the small shop is a little stuffy, however every repair job the man has done for me has been excellent and top notch. Even corrected a garment that another tailor did a shoddy job on. He has a loyal customer base and certainly doesnt need me to give him free advertising on yelp because his work speaks for itself. Being in the service industry myself, it irks me that some folks will dish out a bad review based on what most people would percieve is a slight issue.

I had zero experience sewing and found B & B Sewing on eBay while looking for an industrial sewing machine. They easily spent more then an hour of their time discussing machine options to meet my needs and educating me on options. They had a few good sewing machines I was deciding between and even offered the option to call them for advice if I find another machine I like somewhere else. I was surprised of the offer but very much appreciated it as it can sometimes be quite a challenge to trust a business is focused on what's right for the customer. Short of it is that I found a harder to find sewing machine on craigslist that B&B didn't have and so I called them for advice. Without hesitation they said that is a great machine for what I'm looking to do at a good price and that I would be best to buy that one for my goals. Its refreshing in this day in age to find companies that have the customers best interest in mind. B&B sewing was helpful above and beyond expectations without any gain and I will without hesitation shop with them first for my next machine as my workshop grows.

I contacted him directly to purchase a used machine (the 2nd one I had purchased from him). The first machine arrived no problem and in decent enough shape. With the second machine, he sent it but hid the fact that it had a broken front leg in the casting, where the bearing sits for the shaft underneath. When I contacted him about it, he told me "Oh, you could easily get that welded" and refused any discount or to take the machine back for a refund. Clearly, this guy knows absolutely nothing about welding. For one, welding cast iron is a nightmare. For two, the broken area is a machined housing for a bearing, which supports the mechanism under the sewing machine. To sell a machine to a customer - which you either should have known was broken or which you knew and failed to disclose - is simply unethical. And then to basically them them the big "FU" and say no refunds and anyone should be able to weld that for you.. that's just simply dishonest. Any ethical business person would have offered either a discount or refund. I can't believe this guy sold me a broken sewing machine and then expected me to run around town trying to get it welded on my own dime, all while dodging standing behind what he sells. What is this world coming to? Shame on B&B Sewing Machine. And shame on the dishonest owner sticking people with his defective merchandise.

Beware!! New Owners who do not know what they are doing…read more I am a 20 year customer and loved all the people who worked there and never had a problem until now. The new owners are not cleaning the clothes on the premises. When I went to pick up my shirts on the day they were due and they could not locate them as I waited for 45 minutes. The person who was at the counter is part of the new ownership and is totally incompetent. She finally called someone to find out the tags or slips are falling off and would be there the next day. When I went there the next day, they were still not ready. She said they may arrive the next day after 2:00pm. I asked them for a discount of any amount just for my inconvenience. The person at the counter called her manager and I spoke to her on the phone and after I explained my situation she said no discount. I asked her if she still wants my business. She said NO. Thank God it was a small order. The total for the two shirts was just 6.50. All I wanted was something to tell me they respected and appreciated my business with them. Even a dollar or two. Now I will never go back and will tell everyone I know this story. No Business Acumen and another example of a new owner coming in a screwing up a business that had been around 70 or 80 years.
