We used Olympic several years ago and had a great experience, but then used them again recently and had some challenges. They put a new bathtub spigot in and did not seal it at all--there's a substantial gap. Over time the spigot has also not worked as well as it should. It seems like they've fallen off in quality. What prompted me to post this was that the V "business owner" replied to my initial 5-star rating with a ChatGPT response. How do I know? They left the "ChatGPT says" in their response at the top. Sad to say I'm changing my review of this company to one star. They "fixed" a sink, and now that repair has flooded my entire kitchen, dining room, and entryway. I called immediately and was assured someone would come out. I received multiple confirmations -- texts, phone calls, emails -- all saying help was on the way. After waiting all day, I finally reached out again... only to be told they wanted to reschedule. Apparently a flooded house due to their own faulty work isn't considered an emergency. I pay extra every month to be a VIP customer, yet here we sit with no kitchen access right before the holidays, all because of Olympic Plumbing Technology -- and now I can't even get anyone to take my call. Edit: fixed the leak MYSELF with foam ring. Do NOT trust this company at ALL. I had a small leak even after replacing the wax ring myself. They came out 3 times and still didn't fix the leak, it is a new toilet (less than 2 years old) and was told I'd have to replace the toilet to fix it, they think is caused by microcracks. They charged over $500 and that seems overpriced just for coming and adding a wax ring and an extra nut. The plumber left his bucket of gloves and tools the first time and last time left his gloves. I understand charging for their time and service but now I'm out over $500 with same problem. I definitely won't be using them in my future. Good things: they were great at scheduling and showing up and being communicative with that. read more

Two incredible plumbers Steve S. and Danny S tackled my job. They performed a very complex job involving my 85 year old "Cast Iron Stack". My LEAD PIPE from the STACK to the toilet developed holes from age and leaked. Danny with 47 years experience new how to proceed. He knew how to remove LEAD PIPING from the Joint at and inside the STACK, and then rebuilt the pipe in black 4" PVC up to my NEW toilet FLANGE. CARE : They gave me the better silicone rubber insert into existing STACK joint (thank you) and also gave me the upgraded stainless toilet FLANGE (thank you). I needed this job done delicately and with experience so while digging out the old broken Lead pipe, that my existing STACK would not get damaged or cracked... yikes. But alas, Danny and Steve pulled it off perfectly. This job was not cheap but i was paying for much more than standard plumbing on the job. They get an 11 on a 10-star scale. Bill Brower Tacoma Wa. Our primary bathroom toilet was leaking from the base. Just a slight one but the one that was concerning. I called on a Friday afternoon, explained the problem and was able to schedule for either the next Monday morning or afternoon. The lady I spoke let me know that a plumber would be there Monday and within a window of time. They'd call 15 or so minutes before arriving. They were on time and did call ahead and sent a text as well. Monday 2 plumbers arrived (Caleb and Garrett). I learned that Garrett was an apprentice. During the process I was asked to observe and was shown what the cause of the slow leak was (bad wax seal and loose floor bolts). The toilet was removed and re-set with a new wax seal and floor bolts. I was assured the floor was sound even though there had been a leak for who knows how long. The guys were in and out within 45 minutes to an hour. The repair site was left clean and with no trace of repairs. The leaky "gunk" was cleaned before re-setting the toilet. I recently hired Olympic Plumbing Technologies to install a kitchen faucet. I provided my own faucet, and the only service required was the installation. However, I was charged over $500 for the job. The job took 40 minutes. After researching local plumbing rates, I found that the average labor cost for this service typically falls between $150 and $300. Given this, I believe I was significantly overcharged. I was not informed of this high price in advance, and I feel the charge was unfair compared to industry standards. We had some much needed hosebib work at our house. The outside valve was difficult to impossible to shut off. Zachary did an EXCELLENT job describing the work and what might be the minimum necessary work as well as what the most necessary work might be. We needed the outside shut off valve in the house as well as the hose bib replaced. Zach was very professional, clean and well versed in the work. Additionally, it was of greater value to us to sign up for an Olympic Plumbing Membership Group which paid for half of the membership cost in today's visit and will pay for the remainder plus additional benefit throughout the next year. This company came to my house yesterday to diagnose them and left everything disconnected, even the electronics. I haven't had water since yesterday. I sent them photos, called them, and sent them an email. They don't want to come. They say it's not their fault. The entire state of Washington should be careful with this company. We had a leak in an upstairs bathroom somewhere, which caused a lot of damage to the downstairs closet. It was in a very weird spot (corner) which caused damage to drywall in several places. Olympic Plumbing gave us a very quick turnaround time for an appt. Despite a frustrating call on the day of our appt advising that they might not be able to make it (after we changed appts/work around), they ended up being able to make it, albeit several hours past the appt time. Anyway, I understand some things can come up beyond their control. Once the plumbers got there, they were informative, knowledgeable, professional, friendly, and efficient. I was advised how much it would be (OUCH) and why. It was a lot of money to have the pipes fixed (760) but ultimately it was a job well done and I felt assured that the problem had been finally resolved. If I have ever any plumbing needs in the future, they will be the first company I call. read more

I live in Seattle and maintain my daugutters house in Olympia, she is a single parent with two young children so when you can't flush the toilet in the morning your in trouble. this was a last minute in the morning emergency, by the time I got there went through the motions to do what I could it was 10:30 am. Wanted $2,200 to go under the house into the crawl space to cut in a T and hydro jet the line. Called another plumber who had no problem snaking the line and charged only $321. Gaig and apprentice Were polite, patient and seemed very knowledgeable. We decided installing a new water heater was the best option. Helped me get financing at a reasonable rate and monthly payment. So far great experience working with them, but to be fair I've only had them do an assessment and estimate. However they've exceeded my expectations so figured I'd share. The company was able to send someone SAME DAY I called and they sent a text when the technician was on his way with his name and picture to know who to expect. The technician Zach was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. He spent a generous amount of time walking me through all the steps needed and answering questions. We had them install a hot water heater and were told it would be a Bradford White or AOSmith. While we preferred the Bradford, the AO Smith would have been acceptable. Instead they installed a Rheem, which is not a brand we agreed to or are okay with. Also, the technician failed to turn the water heater on, and as it is closed up in a cubby we didn't realize that and were without hot water for a few hours as we were told to keep waiting for it to heat up. We will see if they will make this right, but as of right now, we paid $2400 for a water heater of a brand we explicitly didn't want. read more

I woke up this morning to a leaking pipe. When I called Olympic Plumbing, they scheduled technicians to come at 9 AM. The technicians arrived at 8:58, and were friendly and competent. I also asked them to replace a hose bib that got damaged in the last freeze and they did that in addition to replacing the damaged pex. My bill was just over $1000 for one hour forty five minutes, and minimal supplies, including 2 feet of pex, 1 foot of copper, and a hose bib. I think that is excessive, but I don't have a basis for how excessive. I am very happy with the quality of the work and the competence of the technicians, with some reservations about the value of the service. I do know that this service call was outrageously expensive. What I don't know is how much more or less outrageously expensive it would be compared to other plumbing companies. read more

We tried to get an appointment on Friday 6/21/24, Olympic Plumbing Technology said they would come if they could. We made an appointment for Monday 6/24/24, just in case Friday wouldn't work. It didn't. They canceled Monday saying that there were scheduling problem, and no technicians were available. They said they would come between 2:00 and 7:00 Thursday 6/27/24. The technician came at 4:30. During scheduling, Olympic Plumbing Technology personelle were asked repeatedly about fees. We were told there was no service fee and that the estimate was free. The technician showed up and said if he went under the house it would cost 280.00 and said they would give 50.00 credit and waive the travel fee because of the scheduling mess-ups. He was adamant that going under the house would cost 280.00. He was told, no. They were told on the phone on Monday that the leak was under the house and there was no mention of an additional charge for stepping foot under there. The technician said he could give an estimate from a photo. We asked why we couldn't have done that in the first place. Instead, they wasted several days of our time. I had to rearrange my schedule several times to accommodate them. I told the person who arrived at the house that it was bad form and that they needed to get their s**t together. the estimate was vague and the price quoted from looking at the photo we had taken was over 1,400.00 with tax and any permits that may be needed. Not pleased with company. Will not be doing business with them. read more

My shower faucet dripped all the time. I used a handyman site and found a service provider with many stars. I paid for the consult-a fee that would have been applied to job. He looked at the faucet, and without taking it apart, told me he'd have to cut into a pristine wall to access the plumbing and replace a whole bunch of stuff. I asked if he could just do what I saw someone do on YouTube and just take the plate off and fix something. He said that work wouldn't be under warranty and would be inadequate. I didn't agree to service. Soon after I noticed another drip in my backyard faucet. I called OPT and scheduled an appointment for a few days later. Ron was prompt, respected Covid regulation consistently and offered same day service. He easily repaired my faucet without defacing a perfectly smooth wall-the way I had asked the other guy to do it. Pricing was fair and I did not feel taken advantage off. Both faucets were repaired and all is good. I also have an issue with my water heater. Ron helped me go through all of my options with information, not pressure or alarmism. I will be calling OPT when that is something I want to pursue. I would totally recommend OPT. read more

I was impressed with the professionalism the two men displayed. It was kinda expensive but I haven't needed that kind of repair before so maybe I'm just out of touch with the price. read more

A few months back, we had a problem develop in one of our showers. They responded in a very timely manner. They worked until they got the job done. My son was the one who called them. A couple of months after, my son got an email about a water heater give away. Long story short, my husband has multiple stage 4 cancers. My son shared his story and he was selected as the winner. My son let me in on it. We then worked with them on setting it all up. The big day arrived, which also happened to be our anniversary. They showed up with the CEO, a sasquatch, swag, a certificate, water heater, balloons and donuts! Our water heater was in a dangerous state. They ended up replacing a very large clunky water heater, with a tankless system. They had it done in record time. They even cleaned up the wall behind it. They brought a lot of joy to my husband that day, to all of us actually. We have 4 generations living here. This kindness will be long remembered. I highly recommend these guys based solely on their ability to get the job done at reasonable cost. Everything else was a huge blessing. read more

Called Olympia Tech to check out a leak under our house. They said they could have someone out in a few days which they did. Told us there was a 60 dollar visit charge. Fine. When the plumber came out I was showing him how to get under the home, at which point he said there is a fee for going under the house. Not to do anything, but just an additional fee to go under there. The extra charge was 230 dollars, which was nearly an additional four times the original quote they gave us to come out. They knew the leak was under the house and never mentioned the additional charge for stepping foot under there. I asked the plumber to leave at that point. I find it very shady when a company refuses to give a ball park estimate over the phone. Even the worst case scenario price would have been nice to know so that we didn't waste our time and money. I called on a Monday after trying to fix the clog myself that was backing up my washer machine and dishwasher, and finally giving up. They set me up a service window for Wednesday (non emergent issue so the wait was fine). I asked for a phone call so I could warn my boss and leave work for a few hours. Received the call as expected and early in the service window. Josh was courteous and professional and gave me the bid after I explained the issues and he looked over the problem. Unfortunately getting the clog through my sink was a no-go. He had to leave and return with some parts to cut open my washer drainage line and snake a 2nd time. I was a little worried because this doubled the time he spent in my home....I assumed the price was automatically going up. Nope! Even though it took him a little longer, the initial quote is what I paid, which was already a little less than what I expected it would be. I was pleasantly surprised. Even though the call took longer than expected, he still ran the water for a bit to make sure the clog was gone.
