Aberdeen, WA - Olympic Inn & Suites - Mini fridge includes a small freezer.
    Jojo M.

Aberdeen, WA - Olympic Inn and Suites First realize you're in Aberdeen where accommodations may be limited. Pros: Clean rooms, new towels, hot shower, comfortable bed Con: You will hear even someone tip toeing on the 2nd floor above you. Might want to get a room on the 2nd floor. No elevator. It's a motel in WA. your neighbor may be smoking pot. The bath floor heater completely rusted. Front desk hours indicated it opened at 8am went there at 10am and there was a line waiting for the front desk person to show up to work.

My hotel room tried to kill me. I checked in in the afternoon, tossed my stuff into the room and caught a faint whiff of cigarette smoke, but someone was smoking nearby and I had to get back on the road for a rehearsal dinner for my friend's wedding. I got back to the hotel just after midnight and realized that the cigarette smell was INSIDE the room. It was musty and the air was stale, so I opened the window to get some fresh air. And then I realized how unsafe that was, closed it, and turned on the AC in the hopes that might filter the air some. It didn't make it worse, but it certainly didn't make it better. When I went to the bathroom, there was visible mold on the floor in front of the bathtub (not even in the caulking crack, but on the floor itself), which was concerning as well. By the time I washed my hands, I was already struggling to breathe. I ultimately realized I couldn't stay there if I also wanted to keep breathing so I went to the front office to let them know I couldn't stay due to the quality of the room and that I wanted my money back. I found that while the front office is brightly lit at night, it's not staffed after 10 pm, but there is an on-call number. I called and advised of the situation. The man I spoke with said the maids would have to check the room in the morning and they wouldn't be able to give me a refund if they didn't smell the cigarette smoke. This was annoying/frustrating for two reasons: 1) the maids would've cleaned this room before I used it. They either noticed the smell and didn't care or were nose blind to it (it smelled so old, I'm wondering if it came from the carpet, which looked like it hadn't been replaced since hotels became non-smoking) 2) whether they smelled it or not, my body was having a physical allergic reaction I figured: safety first, money later and started packing up my car. My breathing got worse and I was going into anaphylaxis. (Not my first anaphylactic rodeo, but terrifying when alone in a strange town.) I took my first epi pen in between my first and second trip to load the car. And when I went back into the room, I kept my mask on except for the picture and video to document what was happening. I was originally planning on just sleeping in my car that night, but in spite of the epi pen, the anaphylaxis was continuing to progress. Slight silver lining: the local ER is only 7 minutes from this hotel. I got to the ER (taking a second epi pen on my way there) and by the time I got in, I couldn't talk. Thankfully, I have an "in case of emergency" anaphylaxis card in my wallet that I handed over along with my used epi pens. IV Benadryl and steroids along with an albuterol nebulizer got me breathing again. I'm now on a course of post-anaphylaxis prednisone, which is its own special hell. When I got out of the ER 4-5 hours later, I called the hotel's on call number again and was sent to voicemail. I left a message advising of how the night played out, that I wanted a full refund, and that I wanted a call back confirming. I received neither. I was supposed to stay at this hotel for two nights. The second night I slept in my car as I didn't have any more epi pens with me, so I didn't even feel safe trying a different hotel. I'm currently contesting the charges with my credit card company, but this was a horrible experience all around. The lack of cleanliness triggered a medical event. Instead of showing concern or even a modicum of customer service, I was brushed off and fully charged for both nights plus an additional separate charge of $65 for some reason. (Also being contested.) Save yourselves. Stay anywhere else.

We came home covered in bedbug bites after spending a night at this motel. Disinfecting everything now.

The first day it was a cheese quiche with some fresh fruit; the second day was French toast served with some sliced fresh fruit. Plenty of fuel until lunch. The historic "colonial revival" home was built in 1905 and it was a delight to stay here. This inn is the only Bed & Breakfast on Washington's central coast area. Nice to see that the inn survived the pandemic.

We live in Las Vegas and we were visiting Aberdeen for a funeral. This is the town my husband grew up in and he hadn't been back in over 20 years. We could not find Hotels in the area, only motels. I was pleasantly surprised to have found this B&B and quickly booked the Canterbury room. It was clean, cozy and spacious. The bathroom was large and it had a lot of counter space for makeup and toiletries. The Aberdeen weather in March is pretty cold, but it was nice to return to a nice cozy and warm room in the evenings after spending the day with family. Breakfast was amazing! Billy, Cindy's son, is a great cook and very hospitable just like her. I returned to Las Vegas and missed eating my breakfasts overlooking the harbor and the beautiful Broadway Hill neighborhood. We also enjoyed great conversations a couple of days with a Doctor whom we met there. It was a great visit/vacation to my husband's hometown. Thank you Cindy and Billy for your hospitality! I highly recommend A Harbor View Inn.

The room had a musty smell, the bathroom needed work, it looks like they just patched things up. When using the shower the water leaked out everywhere, the anti slip things in the bottom of the tub only covered about half of it so when getting in I almost slipped and fell. Room was extremely dark even with all the lights on. The light above the sink needs replaced and fixed it looks like it's barley hanging on. The little bench thing by the sink was all messed up chipped paint and torn carpet. Speaking of carpet the one in our room either needs a deep clean or completely replaced, I didn't want to walk on it bare foot. There was no glass thing in the microwave so we couldn't heat up our food. We couldn't open the windows to air out the room because there were no screens to keep bugs out. There was hair in the drain of the tub from someone else. For the price we payed it was nit worth it. We will definitely not be staying here again.

I wanna start with saying the staff were very nice and friendly and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. But just about everything else was extremely uncomfortable. I had to wear socks and shoes because the carpet felt soggy or damp. There was a very weird smell that I still can't put my finger on.... Which is scary. There were very obvious marks on the tables from what could only be past people breaking up and parting out their drugs... there was moisture actually seeping up thru the flooring in the bathroom and I was on the bottom floor so that's interesting. Lots of peeling paint, chipping and pealing furniture, there was long brown hairs all over my bed, there was some sort of weird metal hook near the ceiling I don't even wanna know why... just overall very gross and just.... Sad. When I got there there was a very obvious drug deal going on in the parking lot at 2pm in the afternoon. Some questionable cars coming and going thru the night. At one point I'm not sure if I heard gun shots or two single fireworks that went off minutes between another. I brought my service animal and didn't feel safe enough to take him out to potty at the one patch of grass that's behind the dumpster and on the street where all the homeless and drug users are roaming. It was so uncomfortable I left a day early!!! Planned to be there two nights, couldn't bare another and drove 4 hours back home a day early. I wish I could get my money back for the night I didn't stay there :( I truly felt so uncomfortable and so unsafe. Only reason it's 2 stars instead of 1 is because of the staff. You can tell they are really trying their best with the situation given and I commend them for their well mannered employees and staff members. With that said I will NEVER return.... Ever.

They were renovating other rooms so that means it's getting better! Pros: - Surprisingly large room with lots of space. - Comfy beds with 4 pillows per bed. Pillows were medium soft and I liked them. - Ginormous flat screen TV. - Effective heater/AC unit in the main area. It's the kind where you pick hot/cold and hi/low and it continuously runs. The low setting isn't too loud yet effectively masks most of the road noise. - Desk with lamp, outlets, and decent office chair. - Pretty clean. Wasn't afraid to set my stuff down or snuggle into the bed. - Cozy towels and plenty of them. - Pretty affordable. My stay was $89 after tax. - Fridge hiding in the cabinet under the TV. - Very effective (albeit weird-looking) bedlamps. - Toilet clean and worked well, and has a hi/low flush buttom on the top to conserve water. - Wifi of decent speed and password-secured. - Lots of food options in the surrounding area. Cons: - All of the road noise. Never been so thankful for heater/AC noise to help mask it. - Gross coffee. Really bad. - The heater in the bathroom was rusty and ragged. I was too afraid to turn it on. - Gross ironing board provided, complete with what looks like mold spots. - Shower bare minimum passable. Soap/shampoo cheap, showerhead adequate but not great, and the temp controls aren't very effective. Water's always within tolerable parameters in terms of pressure and temperature, but you kinda get what you get. - General "low rent" feel: Dated, cheap, etc. Overall, adequate. Wouldn't go out of my way to stay at Olympic Inn & Suites again, but wouldn't be opposed to it either. Though I'm curious to see what comes of the renovations they're doing.
