Checked in 8/22 given room 110. The room smelled horribly moldy. Called the front desk and the clerk said the smell wouldn't be so bad if I opened the window in the room, and it should help because there are two windows. Went to the front desk and asked for a refund as my wife has asthma and she cannot breathe the mold. His answer was I can't check you out now, but I'll check you out in the morning because I'm doing night audit. We won't make you pay for a room since you're not staying here. Then he went to the back room came back out a couple minutes later and says I can't do anything to help you. I can't guarantee we're gonna refund you. The manager will talk to the owner, but you paid for the room and we might not be able to refund you, it's up to the owner. Apparently, the best Western Aberdeen thinks that people should stay in moldy rooms and deal with the smell (or simply open the window). These guys helped us with a last minute 2-night reservation when our Airbnb fell through. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, the shower had strong enough water pressure and the front desk staff (David) and cleaning / maintenance staff were so friendly. The breakfasts were healthy and good both mornings (scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage depending on the day, coffee, tea, different kinds of juice, fresh fruit and muffins and moist waffles). There was a pool and small gym available that we didn't use. This was well worth the cost. The only reason this isn't 5 stars is because in the early morning we could smell the bacon from our 2nd floor room and hallway. Still, if we're in Aberdeen again we'll definitely return. read more

I came in. We have two service dogs we didn't care to pay for one. We explained that we had one service dogs and they asked what our dogs task was and then said that his task wasn't qualified as a service dog and charged us for both dogs both nights. We have paper for them as well read more

Drove 5 hours to our reserved room and the piece of trash staff sold the room to someone else with no advance warning due to local guests checking in ahead of us. Horrible experience here. The hot tub was full of black mold that got on my skin which caused skin problems and itching. The room was also filthy with hair and dust on the furniture/bed. The shower head and the head of the sink had mold around it. The water from the bathroom was also extremely dirty and left a white coat of lime on my shoes as well as my clothes. I've sent pictures of the obvious hot tub full of black mold, dirty water, and obvious health conditions of my room and the property manager has refused to take responsibility for any of this. I've spent money to stay here on my birthday and have received nothing but black mold on my skin, skin rashes/itchiness, and a whole bunch of stress due to this irresponsible property manager and their negligence to clean the rooms and common areas properly. A solid Best Western. The kids used the pool area, nice and warm and the spa area was nice and hot, probably the hottest one I've been at in over a year, a lot of best westerns spa's are on the colder side, this wasn't! Room was solid, bed was comfortable, had a view of a river and the kids loved the train that went by. The train lasted probably 10 mins, wow! Could be noisy to some but was nice to see a train in action for us, not something we see much anymore. Breakfast ended at 9 am, too early! Much prefer the weekend breakfast that ends 9:30 or 10am at other B.W., check out at noon was nice though! As for the breakfast, typical BW, waffle batter which is always solid, boarderline edible bacon, eggs, potatoes, toast, muffins, cereal bars etc. Biscuits and gravy here were better than most B.W. but the biscuits need to be warmer and have a crunch to them, why are they always cold and powdery? So strange. Anyways, a solid choice if you need a place to stay, was close to many fast food options, major stores like Ross, Marshall's, Walmart, even a Goodwill if that's your thing. read more

The eggs didn't taste powdered, the biscuits, waffles, and bacon all tasted fresh. We even were able to bring our pup for $30/night. Very nice accommodations. Although, I didn't check the refrigerator temp, and everything was frozen solid, lol. Check-in was smooth and pleasant. But unfortunately on leaving, the young lady working the front desk, July 10, 2023, was extremely rude. She asked for our room keys, no problem. But when I told her we don't return room keys, as our private info may be on them, she smirked as if I was crazy. I shared a site that showed yes, that can happen. She dissed me, angrily saying I didn't hafta share that. I replied, after your attitude, that we wouldn't return our keys, I just wanted to show you I wasn't crazy. She yelled at me again, with other guests in her presence. I truly don't care if it's true or not. We travel quite a bit and never have had ANY attitude from someone working registration. Many I've told about not returning keys, and haven't encountered any problem. To give some grace, maybe she was having a bad day, and I pushed her over the edge by not returning our keys. Stayed here for 1 night for business. It's about a 30 minute drive to Westport. Check in was quick and efficient. Room was comfortable and clean. TV had 1 HBO channel and the connection between the remote and TV adapter was slow. WIFI connection was choppy, but we were in the middle of a storm. Not many food options in the area that deliver - Domino's and Chinese. The hotel has a pool and fitness center with up to 50lb dumbbells but the 1 treadmill was out of order. NOT MILITARY/GOVERNMENT FRIENDLY. I cannot express how offended I am with the customer service here. I am traveling for business, military, and require a double occupancy room at the Government rate of $101.00. It is not ideal but, one of my soldiers Government travel cards is not setup and will not be ready any time soon. The double occupancy room was a mitigation in case the soldier was unable to get his travel card setup before our work trip. When I called and asked for the GOV rate, the receptionist was right away confrontational, asking me if I was in fact traveling for GOV business. I explained that I was and my needs. I had to ask her to verify the Per Diem rate because, she would not initially tell me and I was on strict guidance from unit on the amount we could spend. Again, very confrontational. I should not feel like a moron asking to verify pricing to ensure that it matches my data as well. It continues to go downhill. They wanted to charge us the Per Diem rate per person even in a shared room. She then tried to explain to me that it was policy and that he was going to get reimbursed anyway. No... he was not going to get reimbursed. I have been in the military for over 10 years. I have traveled the world, I have traveled the country, I have been a unit Commander, Special circumstances always arise. Please do not question me on policy and my integrity. The receptionist told me the double charge was hotel policy. She said she would check with the owner to see if they could meet our need. The owner said no... and that was that. I decided to look online to see what sorts of rates they would give if I was not traveling on Military Orders for a double occupancy room. Between $130-140 dollars. They wanted to charge us $202 + tax when I told them it was GOV travel. Unbelievable. Totally unwilling to work with us. Clearly this is an owner policy issue and it shows. When customer service is THAT bad, it is evident that it is a toxic workplace and that starts at the top. We booked here instead of our normal spot in Ocean Shores because it had such high reviews on other sites. After our stay, we will definitely go back to our usual. Was it the worst place we've ever stayed? No. Was it the best? Absolutely not. Our first night there we arrived at night. We had been in the car 5+ hours, our kids were exhausted, we were tired, I just wanted a bed at the point we arrived. Check in was fine. The guy was nice enough. We booked a double Queen suite and when we opened the door, the smell of mold was so unbelievably strong. Again, I was so tired I didn't even care. We had our dog with us and the first thing my husband said was do not take her out on the side of the building. There were several interesting people on the side of the hotel that I don't care to interact with, especially at night. I pulled our bedding back and noticed there was hair on the sheets. I'm guessing (and hoping) it was from the cleaning staff making the beds? Everything else seemed fine. I went into the bathroom and noticed some questionable matter on the wall. I notified the front desk the next morning and they took care of it right away which I really appreciated. We never had their breakfast but they were serving hot food but people eating looked happy. I saw some sketchy reviews about the pool and hot tub. My kids were so excited to swim that It could have had slime oozing from it and they wouldn't have cared. The pool is pretty small but my kids were happy and really isn't that all that matters? The reviews about the hot tub were a little sketch. Mostly stating the water was green. The green I noticed seemed to be from the lighting. I decided to chance it and sit it in it. Besides heavy bleach smell, I didn't notice anything different. If I grow a third arm or something, I'll be sure to update the review but so far so good. The front desk staff were pleasant in our interactions. We survived the pool and hot tub. My only reason for not returning would be the smell in the room. The bed was comfy. The TV was meh. Poor picture quality. The WiFi was a joke. But all in all. Hotel is posted as a 100% smoke free facility. The room smelled of smoke. The night clerk said it used to be a smoking facility that was converted and that they have problems when it gets hot out. The hotel said they would take care of us as they had no other rooms available, but then would not respond when we went to check out. After multiple attempts they offered us $50 off and 500 reward points. This was nothing as we were already paying double the standard rate due to a last minute trip. You can hear your AC and everyone talking in the hotel. The WiFi is awful and so was the check-in experience. The person checking us in acted like she was doing humanity a great favor just by being there: absolute lack of customer service skills. The room looks nice and is of a good size for the standard King bed option. The view of the water is meh. The swimming pool seems nice and yet since we don't care for it, doesn't get any points. Parking is plenty and at 11PM was packed to the brim. I guess mediocrity doesn't really matter? Will find a different place in Westport or Ocean Shores next time around. I had to stop here on the way to Ocean Shores the last week of January since there had been a rockslide the night previous. The room was pricey given the area but it had to do. The help was nice and professional, the morning breakfast was a bag of snacks and the lone option was ordering some pizza from a local outfit. Pretty decent, especially for Aberdeen. The single room with King bed I stayed in was nice and clean, the price is decent. The room comes with a TV with your standard mix of hotel cable channels. The interface and remote leave a lot to be desired. Reminded me of late 80s cable TVs, slow and you had to channel surf, no guide. The WiFi was around 5mpbs at best. Enough to do work but forget about streaming. Overall, it's not bad and if I were to have any complaints it would only be about two things. 1. Location - The hotel is right next to train tracks so if you're on the riverside facing part of the hotel you're going to hear the train. They do a decent job insulating the windows (you get three sliding windows on top of each other) but you're going to hear the train a little. 2. PILLOWS! Bring your own pillows. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were like trying to sleep on bags of cotton balls. It was uncomfortable at best and painful at worst when I had to stack two on top of each other to try to sleep. As a result, I did not sleep well the night I was here but the room was decent enough that I'll be back, just with my own pillows. read more

Worst service ever! I spike with Sharon and Jackie (General Manager) about a refund issue. When I arrived 12/8/19 Sunday with a Hotels.com reservation, the agent working at the lobby desk said he couldnt locate our reservation and wouldnt check us in. We provided our IDs with names which reservation was made with, and also the confirmation number. Agent just kept saying there was no reservation in his system. We arrived at 10pm, and had to get a room to stay overnight, so we asked what else could be done. He was willing to give us a room with price match and -10% discount. We were very grateful and I even rated them highly of their service on hotels.com Today, I found out that the hotel charged for both the first booking that was already made through Hotels.com that they claimed couldnt find as well as for the last minute new booking their employee made. I called for a refund for the first one since we showed up with the right reservation, and it was their employee's mistake for not being able to locate it the first time. Sharon picked up the phone, didnt know how to handle the situation and mentioned all false information that was not true. She said it was charged because it was a no show when I made the reservation through expedia.com. I didn't even use that website!!!! And she hung up on me. I called back, and she put her general mananger, Jackie on the phone. Now she claimed that I was give her false information, and that even as a GM, she doesn't have the authority to give refund, that I need to wait until the owner if the hotel comes fack from India, and that will be at the end of the month. What upsets me is there was no apology, and willingness to accept their mistakes. I was wrongfully charged $151.16 that I never approved for, and when I am having to spend extra time sorting through the situation because of their employee's needs, first thing you should do is apologize and show the willingness to work with your customer, not hang up on them. I am now on the phone with them for over 20 minutes to explain myself, and they just wont listen and start to just speak over my voice. I also raised my voice, because I didn't what a corporate backed business to shush me and steal my money. Jackie also hung up the phone on me, denying to refund me and told me to go ahead and try and get my money back from my credit card company instead. I hope the owner reads this. If you hire a GM, and do not give them the authority to make calls to resolve issues, what is their role? I have been on the phone with this hotel, hotels.com, and my credit card company for the last 2 hours. Who is going to compensate me for my time?? And with no luck at all, I am now having to wait 2 weeks until the owner comes back from India to approve the refund and hope that it gets approved. This is absolutely ridiculous. Summary: I made reservation to stay 1 night through hotels.com Employee couldnt locate our reservation even when I provided all correct information. Employee makes new reservation and we stay 1 night We are then charged for both reservation (meaning NOW they are able to find the reservation. This is the best motel in town, rooms are nice and clean, beds are comfortable and nicely arranged to move around, bathroom is private and good sized, I had double queen room, non smoking with 3rd floor view of the Wishkah river. staff are friendly helpful and knowledgeable. Motel is somewhat easy to get to with plenty of parking, front door is covered to load and or unload vehicle. Free WiFi and breakfast. Really the only draw back I found here were the customer coin operated laundry, machine was small and $2.50 per wash and $2.50 to dry. The free breakfast was not very good as far as eggs, potatoes, and biscuits, they tasted instant; sausage was extremely salty, ham was rubbery. There was waffles that I did not try, fruit and yogurt, dessert rolls are cheap and nasty! There is plenty of room with tv. Coffee, milk, juices and breakfast cereals. First off, the bed was very comfortable. I slept very well. However, we were greeted by a disrespectful young woman who had a really bad attitude (best western can message me for her name on yelp). This front desk worker put a negative spin on our stay as soon as we walked in the door, so that bummed us out. In the room, we noticed urine all over the bottom of the toilet (I would post a picture, but it's too disgusting to do that). I don't think I have ever seen urine caked around the base of a toilet before (we definitely smelled it in the bathroom). So, of course, we closed the bathroom door when we didn't have to go in there. If not for the disrespectful front-desk employee and the urine surprise, this would have been a higher score. read more

This hotel was awful first of all spa was green afraid to get in, illness was a concern. At breakfast people were handling food, decided they didn't want put it back. No social distancing regardless of no masks packed in. Noise was bad you could hear kids running after 10pm. No air in room very hot during night. For the cost it was awful. FRONT staff indicated a river room and it was not. One of the least desirable BW we have stayed at. read more

The hotel is located very close to a rail line, yet train noise was not a problem. It was ingenious and expensive for the owners to install two double-pane windows, making 4 layers of glass separated by 3 layers of air to dampen the noise. We heard the trains, but the sounds were low and non-intrusive. That is just one example of the care with which accommodations earn an attaboy. Other observations: I seldom sleep well in a strange bed and yet I got a restful night's sleep here. I like to read in bed and have to confess that the bedside light wasn't bright enough until I removed the shade. The front desk staff seemed like they were understaffed. Breakfast was good, but they need more room to serve and seat guests. The pool situation: First night: Hot tub out of order with "broken heater. Hot tub remained the same through our stay with no indication of intent to repair. Pool being filled with warm water from a hose. Next morning: Murky pool water with one swimmer and a concerned staff member on phone about pool quality. Same day: Murky pool water with two men in the pool area with chemicals to test water. The water was still at an unsafe condition, with no visibility to see the bottom of the pool. According to the State of Washington rules found here, http://app.leg.wa.gov/wac/default.aspx?cite=246-260, the pool did not seem to be following safety regulations. Furthermore, when I did some more internet research, I found several poor reviews (mostly on trip advisor) over the past few years about a broken down or dirty hot tub at the hotel. I was disappointed that this seems to be a problem the hotel has over and over again. On our final morning, I tried to give the hotel a chance to make things right somehow with our family before going to post reviews on yelp and trip advisor. I was polite and clear about my complaint. I expected the hotel to try to win my favor with to-go lunches (advertised at the front desk), a small discount off a future stay, or at least an apology to my son. Instead, I was told that management had already told the staff that "no discounts would be given because of this" and that it was was "out of my hands." After I ate breakfast, I talked with a family of five that was waiting patiently outside of the locked pool door in their swimsuits. They had booked this hotel to use the pool, and they had been called in their room saying that the pool would be open soon. They were waiting there at least fifteen minutes while the front desk clerk was on the phone in the pool, checking chemicals and talking with someone (presumably about the pool quality.) They were kind and polite, but were going to be very unhappy if they couldn't swim. Finally, at 9:00am, the front desk agent told them they could swim and told me that we could swim, too. Unfortunately for my family, our vacation was over and we had to pack up and head home. The hot tub was out of service with a sign on a cone the entire visit. At least that family of five seemed to be having a good time in the pool. The situation with the pool darkened my entire visit to Aberdeen, and that is while I will warn other guests to steer clear of this hotel when visiting Aberdeen or the Washington coast. I liked the bed and the housekeeping staff, so I will probably stay in another Best Western soon. Just not in this Best Western. read more
