So first of all , they changed our rooms 3 different fxcking times , 1st room was not the correct room we reserved ... second room had pee stains and other stains on bed sheets . And also did not have the pull out couch we requested.. we were hoping 3rd times a charm but we showed up to the third room ... the deadbolt WOULD NOT LOCK THE WAS A GAP IN THE DOOR AND YOU COULD SEE THE HALLWAY LIGHTS THROUGH THE DOOR , the fridge was on but not working and overheating creating aFIRE HAZARD. Which I mean is not surprising as they had a fire earlier this year. Not to mention the pull out for my children had a two by two foot pee stay and a big blood stain up by the head part their accommodation was to give us an extra sheet and blanket to cover it . !!! Pool was murky and looked like it had not been cleaned for awhile !!! Upon check out we expressed our concerns and were met with the "manager" telling us pretty much to fuck off and they were NOT GOING TO DO A DAMN THING ABOUT IT !!! WE WILL NOT BE STAYING HERE AGAIN AND WILL SPREAD THE WORD ! Room numbers are 116, 208 , and the last with nasty ass mattress and fire hazard fridge and non working lock was 218 for confirmation!

They have a full breakfast with a decent selection. The coffee is not good, but there are quite a few decent drive through coffee stands that are very close by. We stayed in 3 different rooms. We reserved a junior suite. It had bedbug markings (I did not see the actual bugs) & the room was dirty. They moved us to the king suite, which was very nice of them. It was HUGE! It was dusty and had blood stains on the shower curtain and bathroom walls. The toilet had rust by the pipe and it was definitely worn out. We could only stay one night in this room because we only paid for the junior suite, so that's what they moved us back to. The junior suite had 2 queen beds. No bugs, just hair in between the sheets and the mattresses were very stained. The walls had finger prints and door knobs were sticky. The heater/air conditioner did not work. We stayed 2 nights in this room. They are in the process of remodeling the entire building. The areas that have been remodeled looks amazing! I'm hopeful that this remodel is what they need to make this hotel a clean & comfortable place to stay.

For the price, this hotel is a perfect family spot for enjoying ocean shores and also a fun hotel with indoor pool for the kiddos. Came here with my family and a bunch of nephews. Booked a junior suite and a double queen room to accommodate everyone. The suites are spacious and rooms are clean. The pools was open till 11 and lots of fun for kids. Easy walk to ocean and right across street from pizza place for added convenience. Where these folks excel is in their amazing complimentary breakfast buffet and their super friendly/accommodating staff. Hot breakfast including all the hotel favorites (waffle, eggs, sausage, bacon, bagels, toast, English muffins, fruit, yogurt, hot & cold cereal juice and of course coffee). Kids can go crazy here and the staff even helped us clean up a little accident in the dining area. They gave us late checkout for both rooms. We will definitely come back here next time we're in ocean shores.

We have stayed here a few times. The remodel is very nice! The lobby looks great. The elevator needs some fixing its a bit wonky. Rooms are nice, its nice that they have ac. But a fan would of been nice aswell. We had a beautiful view of the beach but the windows are so dirty w bird poop you didnt have a clear view. And the windows dont have screens, pretty alarming if you are hot in the room & have children. The jetted tub was nice but the towels are awful. Very rough, thin and so small. There was also sugar ants in the kitchen area. All in all its a nice place!

    No bath towel!!

I used to love this place that's why we come back every year. This year is different: got the room the bathroom have wet towels on the floor, no bath towels at all. Bed needs some support and I have to watch myself overnight not to hit the wood that is supporting the bed. I asked for bath towels and the front desk made excuses. She's alone and will be right with us right away. Then, I went down to get the batch towels. More excuses. Looks like to me the housekeeping people just got up and left. Then, I discovered we are not alone. The door next to me and across me the same thing. I went back to the room but I was irritated. Every is not right with the room and the lady at the front desk keeps making excuses. Went downstairs again but she's going up she said getting me the towels. But she gave the guy the pool towels the shut the door to me. I stood outside the door very irritated. Then the lady said get the towel from the pool. She's not getting you and bath towels. You can be there for awhile. I ran to the pool and grab 3 towels. Then, she gave out of the room very rudely gave me the towel. It's not my fault that she's alone and everybody needs bath towel. I wanted to leave but my other half said it's late and let's check out tomorrow. He will drive home. This is VACATION from hell.

This is the armoire! You see it's broken & not to mention the tv inside doesn't work it stays on no signal.

When I tell you how highly DISAPPOINTED I am in this place, that's an understatement! These pics are from room 320 the Deluxe Suite with Ocean View, this is a serious joke I promise you I'm not exaggerating. The presentation from the entrance is nice and once you get to your room it's like entering The Twilight Zone! These are pics I took on 05.21.2021 as you can see. I DON'T recommend anyone waste their money in booking room 320, you will not be satisfied. How dare they even charge the rates they do for this room. I wish I could of gave it no stars! For $245 a night WHAT A DAMN JOKE!! This place need a major overhaul!!

    Signs, signs, everywhere are signs

The good: The Room had was quite large. It had 2 TV's, a mini bar with fridge. The linens were clean and the beds were quite comfortable. The bad: Signs, signs, everywhere are signs. Paper signs are in the elevator, walls, rooms, even in the shower! (see pics). The TV's only had 30 channels of non-HD quality stretched to fit the screen. The ugly: This is possibly the most run down hotel I've ever stayed at. Its literally being held together with tape. I saw electrical tape, scotch tape, masking tape, duct tape holding everything together. Even the wallpaper in my room was stuck on with masking tape. There were also stains on the sofa and the carpet. The pool was downright frightening. Part of the pool tile has been covered over with bathroom tile making it very slick. I watched 2 children slip and fall on this. Luckily there were no injuries. This is the only place I've ever seen that allows children in the hot tub. There was even a baby in it!

We loved this hotel and will be back for sure! The service was top notch, the room was immaculate, and the hot breakfast was plentiful and really good. The owners take special care of their guests, greeting each as if they have known you for years. They keep the hotel running smoothly, the prices were reasonable, and everything was as clean as could be. We had a room on the second floor, very quiet, comfortable beds (a bit too soft for my daughter but I loved it), linens were very nice and clean, we asked for extra towels, cups and soap and got plenty. We even had a slice of a view of the ocean. Parking was a little tight at night but plenty of space outside the hotel near the street. Very close to restaurants, gift shops and all Ocean Shores has to offer at half the price of the resort/casino with none of the smoke! Great stay!

Ocean view??? Both windows in room very dirty..
    Peggy L.

Nice staff, they were short staffed, check in was late, no big deal. The windows in the 3rd floor ocean view deluxe suite were filthy. So not a great ocean view. The old Morning glory signs just dumped behind hotel so nice view. Also only 1 exit weird. Not worth $300 a night. Won't be back.

Blood or something under light switch in bathroom.

BayVue Hotel use to be called Morning Glory. We stayed at hotel July 21, 2022. When checking in we asked if they had another room so my daughter and grandson could have their own room. We were told the hotel was full and there were no rooms available. When going into room we noticed the drapes were halfway off the hangers. Simple fix would be to climb on a chair and hook them back on right? Well being disabled this was not an option. The window screen was missing and the window was filthy on the inside and outside was full of bird crap. The inside of curtain had splats of something. The lamp in the room was broken at the top and it didnt even have a switch handle so no lights above table. The fridge is in a wood cabinet and the door would not shut and the freezer was so iced up it would not allow to be closed. The bedside table was filthy and there was dust and stuff behind on the floor. The beds were queens and someone wrote the date on the mattress 2014 and it was not good at all. The mirror in room had some sort of white rings on it. Not just a wipe off these were stained rings of some sort. The bathroom was the worst! Tile off the side of wall, looked at if it was black mold. Blood or something sickening on wall under light switch. Soap dish attached on shower was ready to fall off, soap kept falling off. The cuplinks on pipe in shower were off so the hole was exposed and the shower handle itself kept falling down. No cabinet under sink so you can see the pipes going into wall with big hole exposed and filthy, The pool chlorine was so strong you could smell it in the elevator. Parents of children in pool said they could smell on second floor and their kids came out of pool with burning eyes. Called front desk and was told that was not good and they would put a sign up to close pool that night. (I never checked to see if they did). In the morning they did have fresh water going in and it didnt smell as bad. My grandson was able to swim although some machine was plugged in about 6 feet from the pool itself so that was unsafe. Told grandson to get out. We did stay in room since it took so long to travel and there were no other hotels avail and was told there were no rooms at our hotel. I called when I got home to speak to management and was told they were not in. I called again and was told they would not be in until morning so I called. She was not in again. I called later and was able to talk to her. I explained all the issues and she offered me a 10% discount the next time I came! She refused to even refund just one night. When asked if I could speak to her Supervisor or owner she said she did not know that information. Refused to give it to me. I looked up the Grays County Assessors website and was able to get owners number. I contacted him and he was very rude, did not care at all. I will Never stay at this hotel again! Stay far away!

Dirty furniture. Another chair was covered in crumbs.

First time staying at an Inn/AirBNB type place. At first, it felt strange to let ourselves into this big beautiful house and to be the only ones there. But the better half grew up going to Inns and Bed and Breakfast type places and she was all in. NICE. That is the main word I would use to sum up The Collins. Especially with how well they took care of us for our anniversary. Every little detail was thought out and taken care of. The lady who was working there while we were there could not have been better. Super nice and attentive. WE LOVED THE COLLINS. I have been going to Ocean Shores my entire life but always stayed on the main hotel strip. The Collins is on the backside of Ocean Shores and very secluded from the tourist-y parts of the town. The house is gorgeous. A huge house with so many different things in it to do right across the street from the beach. The Collins has that beautiful, awesome Ocean Shores beach aesthetic while also being a very upscale, beautiful inn. My favorite thing about The Collins [aside from the hot tub] is just how well thought out everything is. From the all day snacks and breakfast. To every little touch they add. The people who created and run The Collins are obviously big fans of this type of Inn and really worked hard to create their ultimate image of it. And you can feel that in every little detail of The Collins experience. We also liked the french toast, Starbucks egg bites and all of the things they give you for breakfast here. The pastries were my favorite but we liked everything. We were also incredibly impressed at our room fridge having some nice juice and snacky type options. The better half and I loved this experience. We had such a nice time here. The hot tub, the wine, the chocolates, the kick ass shower, the nice breakfast and snacks. If you're looking for a great experience with your special person, it's hard to think of a better option than The Collins. I've stayed in pretty much every hotel in Ocean Shores and The Collins is definitely at the top of the list if you want a nice, beautiful, relaxing, memorable experience for you and your special person.

I understood that the house was older and that it didn't have modern furnishings BUT I expected it to be clean. The whole house was filthy! It appeared that the house had not been maintained in about 20-30 years. The walls, ceiling, cabinets, counters; tables - basically every surface - were dirty, greasy and grimy. The carpets in every room were stained and gross. The bedding and towels smelled, looked and felt dirty - I had to wash everything with my own laundry soap just so we could sleep and use the towels without feeling gross. The windows did not any screens - we wanted to have the windows open to enjoy the sound of the ocean and to air out this musty house - without screens on the windows all kinds of insects got in. The windows and sills were very dirty; the sills were black with grime and dead insects. Electrical outlets didn't work. Lamps either did not work at all or had burned out light bulbs. Lights inside and out had burned out bulbs - we bought lights bulbs just so we could have some light. The beds were AWFUL - they were so old, uncomfortable and hard, my husband ended up sleeping on the couch. The kitchen hardly had any equipment to use, what little equipment they had was dirty, there were only 3 cereal bowls! The dining room chairs and table were falling apart and unsteady. Outside the steps to the deck were rickety and blackberry bushes were encroaching onto the deck and under the steps so we had to be careful not to get snagged. Plastic chairs out on the deck were broken and sharp. The BBQ was disgusting and gross. We really wanted to "stick it out" and make the house work but we just couldn't bear it. We contacted management to voice our complaints - they've said they would like to make it right but so far nothing has come of that. This house is definitely not worth $350 per night; DO NOT waste your time and money on this place!!

The units are non-smoking, so I don't know if it was from nearby fire pits or what. Also, the bathroom does not have an exhaust fan (again, older building, probably a good 50-60 years old) and it is downstairs. So, if you are vacationing with several other people, leaving the bathroom door open isn't probably an option. But, considering you can hear the ocean from your unit, and are literally walking distance to the beach ( and we scheduled this trip, in July, two weeks prior to going, and usually you have to book a year in advance for Ocean Shores) and the price was VERY reasonable, and their customer service was great to deal with, those few issues were minor. There was some brief confusion when I booked the reservation. I had not realized it was a "horse hotel" with multiple stalls and also campsites as well as rooms. My disappointment was replaced by pure joy upon learning that humans can stay here too, as well as hybridized beings like myself (a centaur)! Everything here is done the old fashioned way, the right way: with kindness, trust, love and simplicity. Staying here will make your heart ache for a simpler time when folks were able to conduct business with a handshake, where their first priority was just treating each other how they want to be treated themselves, with dignity and decency. We came here almost my accident. I'll be honest. Ocean Acres was not in my first, second--or even top five--picks of places to go. We were aiming at much further up the coast. I could find almost nothing and what I could find was neither affordable nor desirable. We did not want to go to some sterile resort where you exist to be milked and sent on your way. We wanted to be in a place that was family-owned and served a purpose beyond just making money as efficiently as possible. We wanted to be somewhere that had actual personality, not just a hollow façade with a minimal, lazy attempt to lure visitors and nothing else. Ocean Acres Horse Hotel was--is--the jackpot on all accounts. Because of a recent death of a family member after a prolonged illness, it was important to be in a place with healing energy. I had a good feeling the moment I navigated my way to Ocean Acres' minimalist website and saw they have no automated process for automated or online bookings. Everything is done personally, over the phone. The owner, Carol did not even ask for my last name, the make of my vehicle or a credit card to reserve the room. She asked us to pay in cash when we arrived. When we did arrive, the first thing I did was try to pay, but she insisted we wait until morning to do so! She wanted us to be able to settle in, relax, and get a good night's sleep first. WHAT?! My thought was: who the hell are you and what time period do you hail from? Where is your time machine? Such a small gesture, but to be endowed with that level of trust by a stranger doing business with me...I cannot think of another time in my 46 years that that's happened. Again, you may think I am making too much of it, but being shown such trust and kindness so quickly had an immediate healing effect on us. It is impossible to discuss Ocean Acres without talking about Carol and her husband, the owners. I don't know how they do it. I could barely keep up with all the adventures they shared with us. Carol is a polymath of the first rank. Her amazing breakfasts held us in good stead the entire time we were there. We ate with the other guests--sometimes sharing a table--in their family dining room! Whilst cooking up innovative and astounding savory and sweet detectibles, Carol regaled us with stories about her life, her work, her relationship to horses, the wheeling and dealing required to get hay. We were also surrounded by her work--stunning oil portraits and bronze sculpture, for which she had rightly won awards. Carol and her husband knew we were hurting, and they pulled out all the stops to help us. They lent us their own, personal ebikes (which were so much fun to take on country roads, tooling around cranberry bogs, little ponds and abandoned farmsteads), Her cooking was phenomenal. She knew we loved animals but had none of our own, so she introduced us to their collie dog Price, with whom we quickly became BFF's in a neverending game of fetch, told us what foods her mini-pony (or was it a mini-donkey?) likes to be fed. And of course, there were other people and their beautiful steeds all around. Just being in the presence of so many happy critters and people had a very good effect on us; it was so needed. The property begins at the highway, off which a short, paved driveway leads to and terminates behind the main house, where the owners live and some of the rooms are. Then, a dirt road goes straight back (west) about a mile--all the way to the sea--passing by a beautiful barn, stalls, campsites, forest, meadows, a pond and other bucolic scenes on the way. Strolling the road on the property (and biking on it) was one of my favorite things to do there. If you ever pined for things (and people) with a personal touch, if you ever just wanted to drop out of the game and NOT be treated like a number, a walking phat money bag with a dollar sign over your head, if you miss interacting like a regular human with other regular humans, if you ever needed some puppy time but had no puppy of your own, if you ever wanted to feel safe, breathe in serenity like it floated in the ethers, if you ever just wanted a really damn good breakfast...Ocean Acres is THE place for you.
