It was a tad dark if you kept the blackout curtain closed, which you'd want to since the window is on a balcony that people walk past. The guy who checked us in was friendly. The only con is that the bed was a little meh and the pillows were pretty flat despite being new. (I know they looked new, because I always check hotels for bed bugs so I purposely looked at the 'naked' mattress and pillows) Overall, I would totally stay here again if I visit Aberdeen again.

Life got crazy and my wife and I had our first daughter, got married and didn't have time for a honeymoon. So we decided to at least take a little break and go to Westport. We could cook, walk 10 minutes to the boardwalk, walk 2 minutes to sit on the rocks and smoke a cigar and even step outside and watch the marina. I loved staying here and will be back again. Pros: * The cabin was immaculately clean * The fireplace was nice and put out some nice heat (it was rainy and chilly out!) * We thoroughly enjoyed the jetted tub! * Easy walking distance to shops and restaurants * Staff were very helpful and professional when we called with questions Cons: * Honestly, I can't think of a single con! We absolutely intend to stay again. This is the off season, so the cottage was very affordable. It was a super relaxing getaway!

We live in Las Vegas and we were visiting Aberdeen for a funeral. This is the town my husband grew up in and he hadn't been back in over 20 years. We could not find Hotels in the area, only motels. I was pleasantly surprised to have found this B&B and quickly booked the Canterbury room. It was clean, cozy and spacious. The bathroom was large and it had a lot of counter space for makeup and toiletries. The Aberdeen weather in March is pretty cold, but it was nice to return to a nice cozy and warm room in the evenings after spending the day with family. Breakfast was amazing! Billy, Cindy's son, is a great cook and very hospitable just like her. I returned to Las Vegas and missed eating my breakfasts overlooking the harbor and the beautiful Broadway Hill neighborhood. We also enjoyed great conversations a couple of days with a Doctor whom we met there. It was a great visit/vacation to my husband's hometown. Thank you Cindy and Billy for your hospitality! Went to the front desk and asked for a refund as my wife has asthma and she cannot breathe the mold. His answer was I can't check you out now, but I'll check you out in the morning because I'm doing night audit. We won't make you pay for a room since you're not staying here. Then he went to the back room came back out a couple minutes later and says I can't do anything to help you. I can't guarantee we're gonna refund you. The manager will talk to the owner, but you paid for the room and we might not be able to refund you, it's up to the owner. Apparently, the best Western Aberdeen thinks that people should stay in moldy rooms and deal with the smell (or simply open the window). Horrible customer service for a horrible hotel room.

Remember that I Love Lucy where Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethyl are in the old run down hotel room and the trains comes by and moves the beds around? Remember the bed they fell into and couldn't get out of? Yeah, it was sorta like that. This place has, hands down, the smallest televisions of any hotel I have ever been at. I didn't know they made 13" anymore! Bathroom light switches on the outside of the bathroom! I really dislike that! The Good. Nice complimentary breakfast in the lobby. Very nice front desk people. I wanna start with saying the staff were very nice and friendly and I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them. But just about everything else was extremely uncomfortable. I had to wear socks and shoes because the carpet felt soggy or damp. There was a very weird smell that I still can't put my finger on.... Which is scary. There were very obvious marks on the tables from what could only be past people breaking up and parting out their drugs... there was moisture actually seeping up thru the flooring in the bathroom and I was on the bottom floor so that's interesting. Lots of peeling paint, chipping and pealing furniture, there was long brown hairs all over my bed, there was some sort of weird metal hook near the ceiling I don't even wanna know why... just overall very gross and just.... Sad. When I got there there was a very obvious drug deal going on in the parking lot at 2pm in the afternoon. Some questionable cars coming and going thru the night. At one point I'm not sure if I heard gun shots or two single fireworks that went off minutes between another. I brought my service animal and didn't feel safe enough to take him out to potty at the one patch of grass that's behind the dumpster and on the street where all the homeless and drug users are roaming. It was so uncomfortable I left a day early!!! Planned to be there two nights, couldn't bare another and drove 4 hours back home a day early.
