We had a great time staying here except for the bed. I was in an accident and my legs were crushed so it is had to get in and out of bed if the mattress isn't firm and theirs certainly isn't. We stayed in the cabin room and it had a fireplace and a partial view of the ocean. But the best part was the restaurant. The food, wine and service was amazing! We tried the flight of red wine and found one we really liked so we got a bottle. The menu changes with the season and what we had was so good. I highly recommend a stay here. Next time I'll stay on the top floor of the resort. read more

Normally, I wouldn't spend the money on an "view" room but I got a great off season weekday discount. I love the view; I love the view & surf sounds from the balcony. The only thing I don't care for is there are no hooks of any sort to hang your clothes on in the whole room. Especially, in the bathroom where personally an under the sink cubbie for the hotel robe doesn't cut it. The only 2 rods to hang things on are the towel rack in with the tub & toilet area, and the closet out in the main room. Very inconvenient. The outer portion of bathroom where the sink is, only has the cubbie. Initially that is filled with towels & bathrobes. The lack of a towel rack near the sink seems to be a growing trend at motels. What's with that? Otherwise, so far I've enjoy the in room Keurig coffee service and I'm impressed by the room's addition of wine glasses to the clear coffee cups & water glasses. The downside is the cups are a small 8 oz and I had to cycle twice for a decent amount of coffee. View great! Not sure the rest is worth it. read more

They have one ADA (disabled) room at the resort and we booked it. The roll in shower was nice. The room was nice. The chairs were a good height for the disabled. The bed was another story. It was very soft which isn't always the best for disabled people as it is hard to move in, roll over, etc. The real problem was the toilet though. It was a low toilet to begin with which they made higher by an extension piece. If you are going to advertise that you have a disabled room you would think you would invest $150 for an ADA sized toilet. Their extention was awkward and had arm rests on it. On the plus side the resorts restaurant was wonderful. Very upscale food that was delicious. read more

There are not many options when staying in this area, so you need to plan advance in the summer. The Ocean Crest Resort is in a great area and has a wonderful location (with walkway to the ocean), but our stay was not great (particularly given the price we paid). One issue was that our room was kind of in the basement--where we did have view of the steps going to the ocean. We booked late and I am sure the rooms with views of ocean are much better, but we had many issues. What is frustrating is that some of these items could be easily fixed. Check-in was fine and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the first couple days of our stay then when it was open, we had so many poor experiences that were not sure about eating there (and the menu looked pricy). The room layout was odd. It was a very big room, but that meant that the TV was very from the bed with one very worn couch against the wall and a small table. The carpeting was really worn out. Here are a list of the issues we saw: - Leaky faucet (not tough to repair) - Shower head that sprayed water everywhere--including the floor outside of shower - Fans in bathroom were really loud--but then still did not do job - Towels were REALLY old and worn thin - Poor Wi-Fi in the room and then no 5G coverage since we were on vacation. - We did not get maid service one day at all (not even to change towels). - Lighting was not great, just very dark (maybe by intent) - Outlets were very loose--our chargers kept falling out so we had to hold them in place. -There were really loud noise when people above us were using water, like a river going through our walls. - Then this room could really use a coatrack or some shelves--particularly in the bathroom. On the plus side, they did allow dogs and just a $25 fee with plenty of parking. I just really think they need to put some money back into this resort--it could be really nice. read more

We did not stay in a room, didn't see any of the rooms and have never experienced a stay here. The views in the restaurant are absolutely stunning and really set the stage for our dinner! The host was a bit too curt and short, which generally sets the tone for the experience, but in this case was actually the complete opposite of the friendly, outgoing wait staff. Our server had a vast knowledge of the menu and specials and was able to recommend the perfect offerings for each of us. We started with the chowder, best in the entire coastal area, and the salad special, fresh and unique. Our entrees all came out piping hot and beautifully plated with Clark's Curry Prawns stealing the entire show! Highly recommend and will definitely be back! read more

Wonderful place to stay for a night. My husband and I stayed here and we chose the king with the balcony and ocean view. The views were stunning and the room was updated and spacious. I would say one drawback to the location is that there isn't much around in regards to food/entertainment in the area. We utilized the pool/sauna/ and spa which was wonderful and so warm. Felt nice to soak after a day at the beach. We also took advantage of the restaurant which had stunning views. The food was spendy and I unfortunately did not enjoy my meal. I ordered the chicken fettuccini and it was not quite what I was expecting. Regardless we had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the views and our stay. read more

The Check in area seemed dated. Parking lot was full and zero room for new cars. The breezeway from check in area to our room beautiful. Overlooked the stairs to the beach and a courtyard of sorts. Door to room dated then you open it up and WOW! Updated room with hard wood floors, open and clean, huge flat screen tv and then the balcony with the ocean. Wow!!! Unfortunately the cons while we were there barking dogs somewhere above us. A couple fighting complete with dogs and doors slamming was our 6am wake up.The restaurant is pricey and the pool bldg is across the road.You can hear the toilet flush upstairs and the shower water draining. The potential is so high for this to rock. We discussed how it be nice to have an actual walkway bridge from check in area to pool/hot tub. Larger Robes too would be nice. When you removed the carpeting you removed some of what kept your rooms quieter from other guests. Think about different insulation. With regard to the very close balconies/decks do what the cruise ships do and add side barriers so they are more private. Put the kabosh on guests having dogs or have a building dedicated only for dogs. Put an ice machine on the other side as well. Your staff is so friendly!!! The rooms were really clean. The restaurant while we saw it had elegant dining should maybe have a few comfort food items for guests that don't have the upscale palate. We would have loved an upscale breakfast. Wasn't offered. We also would have loved a room service delivery of your crème brûlées with a nice hot toddy. All in all was very nice and the view is crazy good. The courtyard with the stairs to beach was beautiful and your water features epic. Keep it going!!!! read more

We drove all the way from California on a road trip and decided to stop here for the pool, hot tub, sauna, and fitness center. Booked on Hotels.com. After booking, we got an email saying all of that is closed. They refused to give us a refund. We called Hotels.com and they said they needed to call the hotel to verify everything. The Hotels.com Associate told me that the front desk person refused to help and hung up on them. We stayed since I wasn't going to get my money back and the studio was OK but very outdated. The view is spectacular! I suggest spending a little extra $$ for a bigger room. We had purchased the standard room and it was so tiny and tight space. The door knob seemed very sketchy and old. The standard room had a full size bed, semi old looking furniture that was trying to pass as rustic. We went to the front desk to upgrade our room. The receptionist was very kind, and tried her best to find the best rate for us in a room we'd be satisfied in. We upgraded to a water view room with a deck, and it was gorgeous! The room was an accessible one and newly renovated and it spacious. Love the style of the furniture and good amount of storage for your stuff. The room also comes with a microwave and mini fridge. The price is high, but honestly worth it depending on your vacation needs. We had a pup with us so the deck was nice to have. And I definitely enjoyed my cup of coffee in the morning out there. Only thing missing with the room are chairs on the deck to enjoy the beautiful water view. The fitness center and pool is oddly across the street. They do have a nice changing area in the bathroom including showers. The fitness center has older equipment but gets the job done. The indoor pool ambiance was so nice. There's a good size pool, hot tub and sauna. There is also a deck outside you can enjoy when the weather is warm. Oh! And there's a stairway to the beach and it's a gorgeous walk down in the morning. We had walked down at night and that also was fun. They have a large light from the hotel to light up a section of the beach so you can enjoy the water at night. read more

First, we did not get the room we reserved. Was told by the manager that the new ownership group does not allow reserving specific rooms. Only the "room type". That is ridiculous. When we made the reservation that was not explained at all, we were assured that the specific room we wanted was reserved. When questioning the desk clerk she got quite snarky with me, saying "I cannot explain it to you any better than I have" (an explanation that made no sense), good job at suggesting a patron is stupid! Supposedly to keep rooms available for "drive up" patrons who want to stay for more than a night. We reserved a three night stay, and were not accommodated. Question: is it super common for random folks deciding to stay in the "middle of nowhere" on a whim, not making reservations ahead of time? Not me! Our room: two robes for confirmed 4 people? No cutting board, one stove burner not working. We are used to hand wash dishes here but there was no tray to put underneath the drying rack. One ice tray in the freezer. (Reservations for 4 adults) The coffee maker has no carafe, so no way to make coffee. Lightening is terrible. New fire logs are tiny. The swimming pool's change rooms are closed for renovations. This seems like ranting, but really? A little attention to detail at this price point? A fancy robe (and apparently meant to be shared by two people) is not making up for an obvious attempt to cut corners, and not investing in this property. We have been coming here for plus 30 years, but probably will be looking for new accommodations. read more

My friend and I stayed at the Oceancreat for two nights in a double queen suite, where we each slept in separate beds. To our horror, we ended up with over 100 bed bug bites, including around 10 on our faces. We struggled to get in touch with anyone who could help and took us several calls and emails to reach the hotel over the course of 24 hours, as bedbug bites do not appear immediately.. Eventually, the hotel confirmed they found a "light infestation." Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! Not only are we physically scarred, but we're also dealing with lasting anxiety. For 10 days after our stay, new bites continued to appear, as they can show up for up to 14 days after being bitten. We both suffer(ed) from intense itching, disfigurement on my back, legs, arms, and face, as well as insomnia and hypervigilance. Sadly, the hotel owners seem indifferent to our experience. I hate to write a bad review but I couldn't helped but feel incredibly disappointed with every part of my stay here. Everything was a let down, the rooms were cheap and very old, the wall were paper thin, and the service was poor. The room we originally were put in has 1 window into the hallway and sink area for the maids. We asked to switch rooms and were told we'd have to pay over 150 extra to change to a different room even though this was 6pm and it was unlikely anyone else would be checking in. The room we were switched to is straight out of the 60s but not in a good way and has paper thin walls. We definitely feel the hotel's photos were incredibly misleading for the majority of their rooms. Maybe there is one nice, more updated room in the resort somewhere? I'm a dog person but a very upset dog and was loudly barking for over an hour in a room down the hall. A cranky old lady at the front desk told me they were working on finding the owners. I'm curious as to how they don't have their cell phone number? Seems like they could use a policy update as it can be very distressing for dogs to be left alone in unknown places. The parking lot noises and street noises are also very loud even with windows closed on the second floor. I would highly recommend you stay elsewhere as there are lots of beach resorts nearby where you can find better service and better quality rooms for the price. read more

This was our second time staying there and probably the last time unless we get one of the new rooms, especially during summer months since the old rooms don't have AC. The accommodations are comfortable enough and we've had good views of the ocean and trees both times, but I don't think the old rooms are worth the amount you pay. No AC, not even a fan, creaky uneven floors, old carpet. For us access to the beach is important and with that long staircase we sort of get that but dreading the climb back up stopped us from going down to the beach as much as we would've liked. The restaurant staff was mostly nice but they need some serious training, 15 patrons for 4-5 staff (plus kitchen staff) isn't an emergency or cause for panic. The bartender wasn't happy about having to jump in and take our order and took it out on us, pretty much told us to hurry up and order because she had two other tables, I honestly wanted to leave but my husband was hungry. The food ended up being just ok. I guess that's the theme of this place, it's just ok. read more

I am a huge fan of Ocean Crest resort. It's a very nice little hotel right on the cliff overlooking the Pacific. I think every room has a balcony - at least the ones I stayed at always had balcony. It's super clean, staff are doing amazing job. Everyone is super nice. It's million times better than Seabrook that is 5mins away but is hundred times more expensive and it's super hard to get a rental next to the ocean. But in this hotel you literally see the ocean from your bed ! read more

It was our first visit to this little gem. Wow, what an amazing view! The Ocean Crest Resort sits atop a ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Not only is the view amazing but the food is super delicious. We drove up from our place in Ocean Shores; about a 20-30 minute scenic drive. I ordered half of an Ocean Crest Benedict. So glad they have half orders. I got one beautifully poached egg on top of thinly sliced ham and an English muffin. The hollandaise tasted fresh and the house potatoes were cooked perfectly. I also had a "wet" cappuccino made to perfection. We'll be stopping by the beach for a walk on our way home. It's a beautiful day! read more

I ended up opening both the window and the door for an hour to try to cool it down, with limited results. The people in adjacent rooms probably thought I was nuts. This is a lovely place. There are a variety of room/suite options, some with direct ocean views and all (I imagine) are within earshot of the ocean. Our hostess at the restaurant told us we have "the small room," when I told her which room we are in, but I like it just fine. It's clean, the bed is comfortable, and the bathroom is recently refurbished. I don't mind being cozy with the guy I'm with. The grounds setting is spectacular . There are pine trees, landscaped areas, and a fantastic staircase/boardwalk down to the beach. The staircase/boardwalk has been repaired. The dining room is exceptional. The food is delicious, prepared from fresh ingredients, and artfully served. The service is gracious. The ocean views from the picture windows are beautiful. Just came gone from what ended up being an abbreviated stay at this hotel. First: super friendly and helpful staff. Seriously, couldn't have been better. Second: the views from the hotel are breath taking if you book anything other than the economy room. But all around the hotel and the beach access, though it's a bit of a trek (stairs ug) were fab. We couldn't get a reservation at the restaurant, not their fault we just aren't 8pm eaters and they were busy. So I have nothing on that. Pool is decent sized and warm but the hot tub was closed which would have been nice to know in advance. Now let's talk about the economy room. It's tiny. Which is to be expected when you hear economy, I suppose. Zero view, the only window faces the hall, so keep your blinds closed. And the WiFi does NOT work in that room. We ended up sitting in our car to use the hotel WiFi. But I will say the place is clean, plenty of pillows and while the water pressure left something to be desired, no shortage of hot water. Would stay again, next time though we'll splurge on a view room with working WiFi read more

We were camping in Pacific Beach, but we drove by and I looked up the restaurant when it said it was open. It boasts that it serves Olympian Apollo Ono's favorite clam chowder. As a huge chowder fan we had to stop and have a mid-afternoon chowder snack. The restaurant inside was very nice, and had an excellent view through the trees to the ocean. Our server was very friendly, and attentive. The chowder was different than any I have had before. It is a pretty thin soup, but it had good flavor, and lots of clams. I thought it was pricey at $11 of an 8 ounce bowl, but it is during Covid on the off season, so I thought it was okay considering. Normally I would not pay this for a bowl of soup. It definitely isn't my favorite bowl of chowder, but it was good, and worth a try. We also got some of the house made rosemary, kalamata olive bread. That was tasty to go with the soup as it doesn't come with bread or anything else. The bread was $6. This was not a cheap mid-afternoon snack, at around $30 plus tip, for clam chowder and bread, but it was a very nice place with a great view. I would come back and have something more filling from the menu next time. It looked like there were some other tasty choices. read more
