You definitely can't beat the view!

I wish they had a separate listing to leave a review for the restaurant but after searching around, it appears they don't so I'll leave my restaurant only review here! We did not stay in a room, didn't see any of the rooms and have never experienced a stay here. The views in the restaurant are absolutely stunning and really set the stage for our dinner! The host was a bit too curt and short, which generally sets the tone for the experience, but in this case was actually the complete opposite of the friendly, outgoing wait staff. Our server had a vast knowledge of the menu and specials and was able to recommend the perfect offerings for each of us. We started with the chowder, best in the entire coastal area, and the salad special, fresh and unique. Our entrees all came out piping hot and beautifully plated with Clark's Curry Prawns stealing the entire show! Highly recommend and will definitely be back!

One of the best restaurants I've ever been to in my life. Makes my mouth water thinking about this place. We love it for special occasions. It's worth every penny. The crab bread is outta this world. The fish is always done to perfection with wonderful flavor and the crème brûlée is amazing!!!!!!!

Wonderful place to stay for a night. My husband and I stayed here and we chose the king with the balcony and ocean view. The views were stunning and the room was updated and spacious. I would say one drawback to the location is that there isn't much around in regards to food/entertainment in the area. We utilized the pool/sauna/ and spa which was wonderful and so warm. Felt nice to soak after a day at the beach. We also took advantage of the restaurant which had stunning views. The food was spendy and I unfortunately did not enjoy my meal. I ordered the chicken fettuccini and it was not quite what I was expecting. Regardless we had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the views and our stay.

Everything is closed but the restaurant and the hotel itself

We drove all the way from California on a road trip and decided to stop here for the pool, hot tub, sauna, and fitness center. Booked on Hotels.com. After booking, we got an email saying all of that is closed. They refused to give us a refund. We called Hotels.com and they said they needed to call the hotel to verify everything. The Hotels.com Associate told me that the front desk person refused to help and hung up on them. We stayed since I wasn't going to get my money back and the studio was OK but very outdated. The restaurant was the best part.

The view is spectacular! I suggest spending a little extra $$ for a bigger room. We had purchased the standard room and it was so tiny and tight space. The door knob seemed very sketchy and old. The standard room had a full size bed, semi old looking furniture that was trying to pass as rustic. We went to the front desk to upgrade our room. The receptionist was very kind, and tried her best to find the best rate for us in a room we'd be satisfied in. We upgraded to a water view room with a deck, and it was gorgeous! The room was an accessible one and newly renovated and it spacious. Love the style of the furniture and good amount of storage for your stuff. The room also comes with a microwave and mini fridge. The price is high, but honestly worth it depending on your vacation needs. We had a pup with us so the deck was nice to have. And I definitely enjoyed my cup of coffee in the morning out there. Only thing missing with the room are chairs on the deck to enjoy the beautiful water view. The fitness center and pool is oddly across the street. They do have a nice changing area in the bathroom including showers. The fitness center has older equipment but gets the job done. The indoor pool ambiance was so nice. There's a good size pool, hot tub and sauna. There is also a deck outside you can enjoy when the weather is warm. Oh! And there's a stairway to the beach and it's a gorgeous walk down in the morning. We had walked down at night and that also was fun. They have a large light from the hotel to light up a section of the beach so you can enjoy the water at night.

My friend and I stayed at the Oceancreat for two nights in a double queen suite, where we each slept in separate beds. To our horror, we ended up with over 100 bed bug bites, including around 10 on our faces. We struggled to get in touch with anyone who could help and took us several calls and emails to reach the hotel over the course of 24 hours, as bedbug bites do not appear immediately.. Eventually, the hotel confirmed they found a "light infestation." Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else! Not only are we physically scarred, but we're also dealing with lasting anxiety. For 10 days after our stay, new bites continued to appear, as they can show up for up to 14 days after being bitten. We both suffer(ed) from intense itching, disfigurement on my back, legs, arms, and face, as well as insomnia and hypervigilance. Sadly, the hotel owners seem indifferent to our experience. The photos are of one arm!

This is the only window in the room they tried to give us. First floor, parking lot/corridor

I hate to write a bad review but I couldn't helped but feel incredibly disappointed with every part of my stay here. Everything was a let down, the rooms were cheap and very old, the wall were paper thin, and the service was poor. The room we originally were put in has 1 window into the hallway and sink area for the maids. We asked to switch rooms and were told we'd have to pay over 150 extra to change to a different room even though this was 6pm and it was unlikely anyone else would be checking in. The room we were switched to is straight out of the 60s but not in a good way and has paper thin walls. We definitely feel the hotel's photos were incredibly misleading for the majority of their rooms. Maybe there is one nice, more updated room in the resort somewhere? I'm a dog person but a very upset dog and was loudly barking for over an hour in a room down the hall. A cranky old lady at the front desk told me they were working on finding the owners. I'm curious as to how they don't have their cell phone number? Seems like they could use a policy update as it can be very distressing for dogs to be left alone in unknown places. The parking lot noises and street noises are also very loud even with windows closed on the second floor. I would highly recommend you stay elsewhere as there are lots of beach resorts nearby where you can find better service and better quality rooms for the price.

We always come here to eat at least once when we come on our trip to the beach. The restaurant food is great. Tonight we had the flat iron steak and it was wonderful. It was cooked just as we asked. The steak was flavorful and very tasty. The scalloped potatoes were also very good. Our waiter was very personable and attentive. Be sure to call ahead and make reservations as it is often full.

Happy having lunch at Ocean Crest!

Another unbelievably delicious breakfast! We shared the traditional breakfast and had the eggs cooked just the way we like them-scrambled soft! Seems so hard to find restaurants that can do that but OC cooked them perfectly! Also had the most delicious Cherry chocolate bergamot muffin!! Omg! Great service and views! What more could you ask for?

After driving 3 plus hrs, when we tried to check in we were informed by their off site management company, By the Sea, that regardless of our written confirmation we had no reservation or room. Furthermore, Laura, told us, tho off season mid week, and no cars in the parking lot there were no other rooms available. I have never met a more abrasive, unhelpful, hostile person as Laura who hung up on me when I told her that our credit card had been charged for the 3 night stay. With no recourse and no one on site with whom we could talk with to straighten out this mess we had no alternative but to leave. Fortunately a brilliant motel, Moonstone Beach motel was a few blocks away, had an incredibly a helpful front desk clerk, Kate, who wiped my tears and checked us into a beautiful room with similar amenities for less money. My advice, beware of "By the Sea" management company, as it appears our situation is not unique and has had happened multiple times. So forget staying at High Tide and stop a few blocks earlier and stay at the Moonstone Beach Motel. They have wonderful on site management team. Look for my Moonstone review which I will post photos.

When we first walked in, you hear calm chill music, along with candles that light up automatically (turn off in the morning, battery operated). They had a huge Costco blanket meant for the king bed which was SO nice and cozy! The shower is nice! LOVED the papaya soap!!! Such a nice scent. They also provided a couple of makeup wipes as well. Both Thomas and Frank, and I believe Katie, were just friendly, and hospitable. Thomas actually refunded my money for the third night since they were running a special on purchasing 2 nights, third night was free! We will definitely come back!
