This is a cool, funky local fast casual lunch diner, where you can eat outside. The food comes out hot and fast. Now, they are not likely to win any Michelin Stars, but they it's an acceptable fast casual lunch place. I got the bacon cheeseburger combo for ~$7 and it was acceptable - fast, hot inexpensive. Don't expect super high quality, but also don't expect an inflated price for a lunch. They have plenty of spots to sit and eat on ~10 picnic tables outside. There are about 10 tables inside as well. In the 50 minutes to drive to Lansing's Olympic Broil, two meals seriously enter my brain depending on the time of year. During Lent, you can not pick a better fish lunch then the Olympic Broil. The savory fried fish, fries, slaw, drink is the ultimate during fasting. However, once Lent is over, Olive Burgers!!! Forget condiments, just ask for extra olives and mayo (sauce) on the sandwich with their delicious curly fries and you too get a taste of Heaven. Off the beaten trail, this is a culinary delight within the shadows of this wonderful capital city. Take heed, this is a justly busy place during lunch, I go around 2pm and the food is worth it! We went last night (12/15/20). It was beyond disheartening to watch not 1 not 2 but 3 employees use unsafe procedures. One didn't even have a mask on and was texting on her phone while near food. The woman taking cards and handing food had on gloves that she never changed in between and also had her mask under her nose. The young lady who bagged the food had her mask under her chin. When I expressed my concern, I was told "sorry" but sorry doesn't stop the spread of Covid. We wanted to support a small business. The next time we do, it won't be them. read more

Great food, decent price! We were in Lansing visiting Preuss pet store and we wanted to have some lunch, McDonald's was busy and I really don't like much in the way of fast food. I searched my phone's GPS to see fast food in the area and that came up and what didn't have bad ratings. I decided to try it since we were already having a bad day, I thought, what the heck? It was really fast, the people were friendly and the food was great! We will definitely make this our new "fast food joint" when we go to Lansing. It was also pretty quite, there were not too many people in there although it was lunch time on a Saturday and the other fast food places were busy. This is really on par with Culver's or Rally's for fast food...like the kind of fast food that tastes like it was from a diner and they were super quick, I am sure McDonald's would have been MUCH slower. read more

The food and the service have generally been excellent but there is a gotcha. I ordered a to go order and when they brought the order to the counter they told me what was in the bag but they were wrong. I did not find out they left two items off my order until I got home. Being 15 minutes away I decided to go back the next day only to be told I did not call so they can't do anything about it. Well I can and have done something and it is a shame because I really liked that place. Don't let that happen to you; check your order since you apparently cannot trust them to get it right. read more

part two of our tuesday night progressive fried dinner extravaganza was olympic broil. we'd driven past it on the way to the airport numerous times...we knew we had to stop to check it out. with a cheesesteak already down the hatch (see our best steakhouse review), we had to focus our efforts on just one taste. we ordered the chicken tender basket with onion rings. the food was delicious. more tempura-y, had good seasoning (we didnt need salt or ketchup!), and of course--pretty greasy. the chicken seemed to be all white meat...and not disgusting or chewy like a nasty nugget. ob resembled a mcdonalds on the inside. except not even as nice. note to anyone interested in going: they have a policy where you cannot return food 30 minutes after purchasing it. so if you change your mind--do it fast. also--who has ever returned food at a fast-food restaurant? are you effing kidding me? it was good. we will go back. but we dont feel particularly moved to go out of our way to do so in the near future. but definitely worth going to. read more
