Unbelievably rude staff!!! I went in today and ordered a gyro platter. I asked the gentleman taking my order if I could substitute another salad for the fries and he said yes.. when my order came out i got one salad and my gyro but no fries and no other salad .. I asked another gentleman there about my 2nd salad and he said "I know I know I know". Which by the way is rude and not how you speak to customers. They bring out my salad and we pack up my leftovers and leave .. the rude "I know" man came out after me and said you didn't pay for the 2nd salad. I told him it was part of my platter he said he told me he didn't charge you for it. Which I did pay the platter price. He went back in and came out again aggressive towards me and I said let me just give you the salad back. He walked away spattering on his way in. Didn't even have the ability to speak his words to me.. very unfortunate because we liked our food. But they will never treat me like this again. read more

Honestly, I do love this places food. But the staff? Thumbs down. They accidentally delivered food to me. Went and asked my neighbors if they ordered food, they all said no. Oh well, not much else I could do. 10/15 mins or so go by, I start eating it. Then some lady calls me up yelling saying I either need to pay for it or bring it back. I told her I already started eating it, why would I bring it back. She continued to yell at me, so I told her to come pick it up. I'm not gonna pay for something that was their mistake? The owner then calls asking what I'm going to do? Bro, it's not my mistake. Already told her to come pick it up. So at the end of the day, I will no longer order from here. Not when some crazy lady can't do her job right and so the company puts it on the customer to make it right. It's a no from me. read more

Hands down the best gyros in and around mayport. Olympia is a hidden gem on mayport road. It's in a plaza and when I talk to people about it they have no clue it is here. GET THE WORD OUT. Their gyros are amazing. The pizza is pretty good as well. They cook the lamb classically right behind the counter and give everything that signature Mediterranean touch. The location is small, seating for about 20 people but I have never had a wait at lunch time. This is a small family owned and operated business. Pricing is average. About $9 for gyro, fries and a soda, but the portions are huge and you certainly won't leave hungry. If you are like so many others and haven't checked out Olympia Cafe, I suggest that you do. read more

Today my coworkers and I went for lunch to Olympia Cafe. I was excited since I have gone there once in the past and it was a good experience. Today I asked for a Philly cheese steak. I arrived with an appetite and as I was down to about 3 bites left, almost finished I felt steel wire in my chew. Yuck! Luckily for me I eat fast BUT I do Chew my food. I felt this I spit it in a napkin and There I see Steel Wool Like from a wire brush perhaps used to clean the grill got mixed in the meat when making the Philly sandwich. So, I decide to discreetly inform the gentlemen, in the Counter who appeared to be InCharge or owner. I said Excuse me sir I wanted to show you what I found on my food, luckily, I didn't swallow it. Please tell your cook to be careful when cleaning the grill. I showed him and his response blew me away. No care in the world looked at me as if I had made this all up and instead of apologizing, he went on by saying; oh, I don't know where that came from it wasn't my grill because we don't use wire brushes to clean the grill."! Me being a retired navy and spent tour on the Mess decks I know what I saw! He is so lucky I went to church this past Sunday and reminded myself don't flip out or overreact. God doesn't like ugly. So, I had no other choice than to write this ugly review. Disregarded my complaint and its seriousness. I will NEVER go again! my first visit today, i've been wanting to come for awhile now based on the reviews. I wasnt disappointed with the food, service and location. The cafe seats plenty, but we decided to carry out. We placed our order for 2 gyro sandwiches, gyro platter, onion rings and chicken tenders. Everything was fabulous - the portions are more than i expected for all the items - gyro, fries and onion rings! Everything was very good and fresh, i would have to say its the best that I've had so far. The pricing is also very reasonable. We didnt wait long at all for our order and the owner even ran out to my car to give me a few condiments. Good things come in small packages. This strip mall restaurant is a great find. Pizza was excellent, as was my souvlaki platter. Clean, unpretentious interior fits well with the beach attitude. Shorts and slippers fit right in. The staff was great! My wife is gluten intolerant, the staff were very helpful in choosing dishes for her. She ended up having the dolmades, Greek salad, and hummus (sub cucumber instead of pita), all of which she enjoyed. We'll be back! read more

I cannot tell you much about the menu because ever since they opened, I started eating their calzones and cannot bring myself to order something different. Usually. On the rare occasion over the past 10-15 years I've ordered the Chicken Gyro Platter (very good), the pizza (really great crust and sauce and that is what makes a pizza stand out to me). But their calzones....one calzone is 3 meals for me. I order extra sauce because it's so yummy. I also love their tatziki sauce. So flavorful and loaded with garlic. I usually order pita and tatziki and get extra tatziki to dip carrots, etc. The people there are super friendly also. I never eat in but last night, my meal was delivered within 35 minutes. Comes with a big gyro with fries n a drink. They also serve and deliver pizza. It's close to the navy base and so there's lots of military people that eat lunch here in uniform. Yes u can ask them to take pix with u. There was this one time n one thing that I didn't like..... The ketchup! Stopped by thanks to Yelp, my boyfriend loves Gyros and I wanted Pizza so it was perfect. It was a friendly environment, it looks like a family owned restaurant. I got two slices of pepperoni pizza, we sat down, the soccer game was on and they had it on the tv. They brought us our food and like I said, it's delicious! I had a hankering for gyros and was headed to Arby's for their 2 for $6 gyro special until I remembered about this place. I'm so glad I stopped by. Their gyro value meal is such a bargain for $8.95. It comes with a fluffy pita with your choice of lamb or chicken gyro meat, lettuce, tomato, onion and tzatziki sauce. It was huge! I chose the lamb and thoroughly enjoyed it. Food was really good but a little too simple. We got the gyros and they were large and tasty but didn't have any cucumbers, feta and very little tzatziki. We added two extra large sides of tzatziki and it was really good. Service was casual but good. The pizzas that came out of the over while we were there smelled and looked good. We will definitely be back, but might have feta at the house to add to the gyros and feta is awesome on fries. read more
