Fun community chalkboard by the bathrooms

Oly Taproom had good pizza, but I felt incredibly awkward there. The outdoor seating was preferable to indoor seating even on a rainy day in December -- little space heaters on each table made it bearable, and the shelter kept the rain out. Inside was so quiet that it felt like every patron was listening to me order. The bartender seemed chill to a fault, as if he had to remind himself to come back to earth for every response. Cool guy, no mistake, but I couldn't help but feel like a clueless outsider while I was there. The slightly cringey chalkboard message declaring that "We have no WiFi - talk to each other and pretend it's 1995" didn't help. The pizza was pretty good. We did a half-and-half of Hawaiian and BBQ Chicken. We both preferred the richer BBQ Chicken side. It wasn't a bad experience, but nothing about it leapt out and made Oly Taproom a Must-Try.

Ate here on a whim with some friends while exploring downtown Olympia and I have to say their food was great! Ordered a 16 inch pepperoni pizza which was made on a thin crust; it had the perfect amount of everything and the crust had really good flavor to it. We also ordered some buffalo wings. I always mentally prepare myself for how spicy buffalo wings might be, but this was perfect in heat. It has just the right kick to it and it went well with their ranch sauce (possibly made in house). Definitely would love to return and try their other menu options along with some of their drinks!

Combo pizza. Nomnomnom.

My dad and I go here frequently after playing Pokemon Go at Percival Plinth with friends. The beer selection is usually great, and the sourdough pizza crust and hop pizza sauce are delicious. It's a unique tasting pizza very worth trying. It's dog friendly, and their covered outdoor area with heat lamps is very comfortable. We love coming here with our pups. My only complaints are that 1) they sometimes don't have a truly dark beer (stout or porter) on tap, and 2) they have zero dessert options. If they could make sure they always had a stout or porter, and offer a cookie or brownie or something like that, I would give it 5 stars for sure.

Drank beer.

Outdoor area is always a vibe. Drinks are great. Food is alright. I also like the extra large fridge in the back that boasts many local & differently crafted brews. Oly Taproom is always a bar I show friends from out of town.

I'm sorry, this taproom really deserves FIVE stars, but they ran out of non alcoholic beer though their source is in town. FRUSTRATING. Realize this is a place that serves alcoholic drinks but they almost always, except today, have some here. Yet, they are really awesome and have amazing people here. Food is a little spendy for what you get but it's good food. The parking around here is somewhat challenging so glad it's somewhat overcast and not crazy busy. The building and inside space is really well maintained, picnic tables outside look new, everything is ideal, except above. Really deserves five stars. Hope they'll strive to keep NA options in stock. Very sad but maybe it's meant to be.

My husband and I have made this a regular date spot. We love the cider and atmosphere. We have tried the food too. 9/10 for the food & drinks. There are bathrooms & dog friendly. Dogs are only allowed in the patio area.

Try the Raspberry Mead. Its delicious.

Third, they have an awesome outdoor area. Fourth, and this is worth stressing for businesses in Oregon and Washington, they are INDOOR dog friendly! Yes, they don't have an internal kitchen and this decision is precisely why your furry friend doesn't have to die in the cold or get wet in the rain. Only suggestion I really have is it would be great to see a few more options for beer brewed outside the PNW (of course, this is NW Beerwerks so I get it). But seriously, this place is great and you and your hopefully very friendly dog should frequent it.

There's so much seating in front, inside at the bar, inside at the nook rooms (it's a house converted to a tap room), as well are more outside seating on the side and in the back! The barstools are lovely and heavy. So sturdy and comfortable for being iron and wood. The service is always friendly and welcoming, offering suggestions and will go out of their way to try and locate a beer if you were looking for something specific (they may just have more in stock in their storage area so don't be afraid to ask if you want a beer that you don't see in the coolers for can/bottle purchase). This is just a great place to relax and enjoy! There's food trucks next door but I'm not sure what their hours are. I was there Sunday in the afternoon and the food trucks were closed. But you can bring in outside food anyway and don't have to rely on just those trucks.

Now if I remember from what I read correctly the folks that run this place were employees of Wild Man Brewing which had a location here (but closed). After studying the tap list it looks like what they carry here primarily is guest tap beers and meads from local breweries and meaderies and doesn't appear that they make their own like the predecessor of this space. But that's okay as it's a really cool place. The guest taps they have are good... nice and cold. The food is good as well. I got a pulled pork sandwich... something that I haven't had in a really long time. I enjoyed it... it was nice and tasty! It was a nice sized lunch along with the fries. The people that work here are nice and friendly and the space here is fun. Definitely a cool place to come and hang out in!

We've eaten here several times over the years, this was the first time we eat dinner here. Fam. Let me tell you, the very reasonable lunch size portions? They're significantly bigger on the dinner menu. Almost disturbingly so Being able to get a selection of interesting regional beers is always a draw, tonight was no exception. And the pretty good lunch menu is expanded for the dinner hour - as well as the portion sizes being expanded. I ordered the fish and chips, my partner ordered the bar steak (which was New York strip), and her daughter ordered the salmon burger with fries. Because it was a special, we also got a giant order of poutine. Despite being in almost at closing, the service was absolutely spectacular. We very nearly had the place to ourselves, so the overall vibe was very homey and welcoming. As noted, the portions were enormous. I opted to finish my fish at the expense of the chips. My partner wound up with a significant take home portion as did her daughter. Couldn't possibly have been happier about our decision to stop in. Since we seem to have a new Greener in the family, I'm sure that we will be in Olympia significantly more frequently. And frankly, I am pretty happy about that, just based on being able to stop in here on the regular again.

I am very excited to see New Zealand Pilsners becoming more common as the first time I had one I was totally impressed and it's great to see this beer type steadily getting more popularity. This is another great tenant to the Tumwater Craft District Market. To my surprise, the place was packed with customers on a Sunday afternoon. I expected a slower pace, but it was anything but. The atmosphere was lively, with people playing pool and enjoying themselves. One of the unique features of this pub is a table game that many of you may not be familiar with. It's called Table Shuffleboard, and it's one of my favorites. I've played it a few times in Alaska, and it's a great game. To play, you simply request the pucks from the servers, and it's a lot of fun. I highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area. We ordered a couple of beers, which were fairly decent. I had the Irish Death, and my friend opted for some of the commercialized beers like Blue Moon. They also ordered some wings, which they said were very good. They recommended that if you want extra crispy wings, you should have them fried hard. The sweet potato fries were cold, but the bartender was quick to take care of that. She brought us a fresh batch in a matter of minutes. The customer service was excellent throughout our visit. I'm giving this pub a three out of five stars.
