Their delivery people are inconsiderate and don't care about others. As I'm sitting here in my house writing this review, one of their delivery trucks (truck #10) has been blocking my driveway for at least the last half hour making a delivery to someone else (but not to me). Horrible experience!!!!! Will never buy anything from them again. 1st they sent the wrong washer. Then to replace it was like pulling teeth. They would not work with my schedule. I talked to the store manager and he was a total #?#$. He was getting nasty with me as I was just trying to get it delivered on my day off. I already had to take a day off to get the dishwasher hooked up. So I finally agreed to THEIR schedule. Then upon using the stove for the first time, there's a big bubble in the glass top. Olums told me that I will have to deal with Whirlpool. So I did after MANY "on holds". They were to come out today so I waited and waited. Guess what? No call no show. I will never go here again. I bought a dishwasher that was delivered on July 5th. It failed from day one. I went back to Olums and the smug salesman told me I had to go the warranty . A brand new dishwasher that didn't work from day one, and Olums made me go thru warranty, instead of replacing it . Reminder dishwasher delivered on July 5th, warranty company will not be able to look at it until Jul 27th. repair man shows up from Anthonys tV and repair on Jul 27th. Guy shows up, has no idea what the problem is but says he will order a apart. (his fly is down). That was on July 27. I do not hear anything until I call the warranty company on 8/18. Assigned a new company super service center. BOTTEM LINE, DO NOT US OLUMS, THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCTS. WHAT COMPANY MAKES YOU GO TO WARRANTY FOR A PRODUCT THAT DOESN'T WORK FROM DAY ONE. Still waiting for the 2nd warranty company to resolve my issue. we purchased GE Cafe appliances from Olums that were delivered in December 2022. the refrigerator doors were dented and have not yet been replaced. we have not even heard from Olums about when we can expect the replacement. the dishwasher has been replaced by GE twice, the first because of leaking, the second because of bad electronics, and now the 3rd unit is leaking. They have by far the best appliance selection in central NY. Go and look but do not buy from them. I purchased a ten thousand dollar stove and told them I was on propane and had to purchase a two hundred dollar conversion kit. Then find someone to convert it. I needed a vent hood that only recirculated, they got me one (free) that needed to be duct to outside. Junk to me. Purchased a $1000 hood to replace it. NOT from Olum"s. The 10 thousand refrigerator had to be specially installed at a cost of minimum $600. Over 20 thousand dollars spent. I am not a happy customer and will never purchase from them again. read more

The selection looks great. Went in to buy with all my research done. I entered the store and wandered a while as the sales people were with others. I did expect a hello or be with you shortly. They were nearby and even stopped 10 feet away where they chatted about this and that. After half an hour I left. Figured they didn't need the business. It's so easy to juggle customers. Send a greeting. Might need to get a sign asking to schedule appointments for buying. Literally a smile and be with you shortly would have been enough. read more

Summary: Good selection, good staff, good deals on brand name appliances/electronics. I hesitated to go into this store at first thinking that it was unlikely they can compete with Home Depot & Best Buy etc. + the store front makes it look small however since I was driving by I stopped in; much to my surprise the place is actually very big/large selection, their prices are very competitive, and they give better discounts on their floor models + they don't plug in or fully unpack their floor models so there is no significant usage on them and you still feel like your getting something brand new- just cheaper. The staff is friendly and helpful, and they have knowledge of the products- you don't get a teenager or tired retiree at this place (i.e if you ask where the microwaves are, you wont get an answer like "I think they are in the kitchen appliance isle", you'll get the good answer "Here let me show you, what features are you looking for..."). The have a reasonable flat delivery fee that includes removing the old appliance etc. - not like other places that says things like "$55 to deliver, $15 more to remove the old appliance, $25 more if you don't live in city limits, $10 more if you have steps etc etc). read more

So, yesterday I visited the location in East Syracuse and purchased a high end Jen-Air dish washer, which was in stock . The sale was completed, payment made and delivery and installation scheduled. I went about the rest of my day running errands, and later that afternoon the salesperson called to say that they could not and would not honor the price for the item I purchased. The item was on the display floor with a tag on it that stated the price. Anyone could have visited the store and seen the item for sale at the price, and chosen to purchase for the price I paid. During the discussion the salesperson informed me that I could either get a refund or take delivery of a completely different lesser model. After voicing my opinion on just how wrong this was on their part the salesperson still held strong on refusing to deliver what I had purchased and he had sold me. I requested to talk to the manager, but was told he was not available. At that point the salesperson stated he would express my concern to the manager and get back to me this morning. I did receive that call back from the salesperson who stated they still would not honor the price for the item they already sold me. I again asked to speak with the manager, still conveniently not available, and the salesperson was emphatic that they would not deliver the item I purchased. At this point I decided these scam artists were not worthy of my business and visited the store later to get my full refund. So sad that this business chose to take such a low road, and to miss treat a customer in this way. My best advice on this scam of a business is "RUN FOREST RUN". read more

Great when we were in the store and purchased appliances. Delivery was on time and appliances were perfect; however, we were told that we would have to pay extra for a three man delivery crew to get them into the house. So, we paid. Only a two man crew showed up brought them into the house. We called Olum's to try to get the delivery money back, but they said it got in the house. So, no refund. DISAPPOiNTED!! read more

Buyer beware, shopping here will result in nothing but a horrible experience!!!!! Every step of the way there was an issue and an excuse. From delivery being over 9 weeks, to damaged furniture and a management team unwilling to make the situation right. My husband had to move and put everything together himself!! A very small amount of store credit was offered but as far as I'm concerned they can keep it, I wouldn't step foot in that store ever again. read more

The first set of issues I dealt with the store directly and had about a 2 star rating, but with my 2nd set of issues I give a 5 star. Recently we went to Olum's to look for appliances for the new house we are building. We had heard from friends that they provided quality products and great service. We were not disappointed. Our initial meeting of about an hour and a half was with Russell. He answered all of our questions and helped us compare the features for each appliance so that we could make informed decisions regarding what we needed. We came back a second time and spent another hour with Andy to ask a few clarifications. We got all the info we needed to purchase all of our appliances for our new house from Olum's. Just got a new washer and dryer from Olum's and couldn't be happier. Units were delivered when they said they would be on a Saturday afternoon. And when they found out they didn't have the correct fitting to connect the gas line (mainly because they planned to reuse the fitting from our old dryer and found out that it wouldn't work) they went back to the store, got the correct piece and made a second trip to complete the installation. Also took away the old units so I didn't have to worry about getting rid of them myself. Have already ordered a refrigerator from them and we're just waiting for it to arrive. read more
