Tanner arrived and found more floor needed to be taken up to do the toilet flange replacement correctly. Tanner rescheduled for next day. Great. Curt arrives next day to do the ROUTINE toilet flange replacement. Curt completes the job in 45 minuets. Great. I meet Curt at his truck to pay, I have $20 in my hand for a tip. Curt hands me a bill for $780. Curt labeled the flange replacement a "custom job." It was not custom by any definition. I don't know if I was charged for the day before when Tanner could not do the work. The bill stated "custom job $780.00 plus tax. No breakdown for parts and labor. Parts were 1 pvc toilet flange, 1 pvc 3 inch 90, 1 3 inch pvc union and approximately 2 feet of 3 inch pvc pipe. I will guess on the heavy side for parts at $75. So labor was $705 for the 45 minuets of work. Neurosurgeons in Washington state average $378 an hour. I called Curt the next day. Not much to be said about the bill. Get the estimate, get the second opinion! I'm an idiot. I kept the $20. Every job was done with great attention to detail and quality workmanship. What really stood out to me was how honest, hardworking, and respectful everyone was. Had the absolute pleasure of working with Drew. We moved in to a house with...let's say interesting...work done. We had a gas leak upon move in and a faulty gas fireplace that was not to code. The fireplace is double sided and the focal point as soon as you walk in. The main source of the leak was fixed but we were at a loss trying to get fireplace companies to help us remediate the lines to the fireplace. One of them recommended Hamblen & Sons and we couldn't be happier. He didn't tell us no or insist we decommission our fireplace. He was up to the challenge! He completely re-did the work all without the need for massive destruction to our walls or floor implied by another company.
