They suggested pads to get sewn into the breast area since there was some loose fabric. After the pads were sewn in I still noticed the loose fabric due to the placement of the pads. I could have probably asked if they could re-do it but I didn't say anything since I needed the dress the same week and live really far away. Having the pads sewn in is way more comfortable than wearing a bra though. I was greeted quickly during my initial visit but when I went to pick up my dress there was a sign on the door that said, "be back in 15 minutes" so I had to wait. My suggestion is to have multiple staff working so that customers do not need to wait in a creepy strip mall. As of Jan. 2023, the tailor shop is in what appears to be an abandoned strip mall since there is only a barber shop next to it. There is currently no signage of the tailor shop name on the outside of the strip mall but you'll see a sign for the shop when you enter the mall. This is located next to Grand Slam. Overall this place is decent if you need work done.

The only outside sign remaining seems to be the barber shop next door to Marta's. That said, I dropped off the pants to a newly-purchased pair of men's pajamas on a Friday and was promised it would be ready the following Friday. On the coldest Minnesota day of the winter, the following Friday, I called to make sure Marta's was even open. It was and the pants were ready for pick-up. Stephen was late in getting the valances done and asked for another day because he was having "an issue" and had to "fix it". We were disappointed when we picked them up. I went to this location after looking at reviews for other locations. I agree with the others. Service was quick and friendly. I dropped off on a Thursday or Friday and was able to pick up on Monday (9/2025). Trousers appear to be clean and pressed just fine. I was emailed and texted when they were ready. The location was in a strip mall and was easy to find with ample parking. There was handicap parking right out front. The cost for one pair of trousers was $13.66.

My second appointment with Brenda was honestly one of the most frustrating experiences I had throughout my wedding planning. I waited about 15 minutes while she ate, and then she left me for another 10 minutes to look at an email. When I brought up sleeves for my dress, which we had already discussed during my first appointment, she became visibly upset. She threw scissors across the room and told me I was being "difficult." After spending another 10 minutes looking for sleeves, she brought out beautiful glittery lace sleeves. The problem was that my wedding dress had no glitter whatsoever, so they obviously did not coordinate with my dress. When I politely rejected them, she told me I was "hard to impress" and that it would be difficult to find something that would work. A few minutes later, she brought out lace material instead. She then told me that if I went through with the sleeves, I would probably eventually have to cut them off because they were likely to rip. Needless to say, this was extremely concerning to hear about something being altered onto my wedding dress. At my third appointment, I worked with Sarah instead, and she was absolutely lovely. She was kind, patient, and explained everything to me without making me feel like I was being difficult. She was actually surprised when I told her I had been told I would eventually have to cut the sleeves off and assured me that shouldn't be the case. Unfortunately, even though Sarah was wonderful, I still left with an unfinished dress. There were safety pins left in my wedding dress that I didn't notice until I put it on. My photographer had even taken photos of the dress hanging, and you can clearly see the safety pins in the dress. When I removed the pins, a significant amount of loose fabric came off. The extra fabric had never been properly removed. My bridesmaids and maid of honor ended up having to cut off a large amount of excess fabric themselves right before I was supposed to be taking photos with my photographer. After paying nearly $1,000 for alterations, I never expected to have to finish my wedding dress myself on my wedding day. I called the shop afterward to see if there was anything they could do to compensate me for the situation. I only received a voicemail saying they would speak with the last person who had worked on my dress. I have yet to hear anything back. The most disappointing part is learning that Brenda is an owner of the business. I believe she knows what she is doing when it comes to alterations, but her customer service and the way she treated me were completely unacceptable. Being called "difficult" and "hard to impress," having scissors thrown across the room, and ultimately leaving me with an unfinished dress is not how a bride should be treated--especially when she has paid nearly $1,000 for the service. Sarah was kind and professional, and I truly appreciate how she treated me. Unfortunately, the overall experience was overshadowed by my experience with Brenda and the fact that my dress was not finished properly. I was so excited to have my wedding dress altered and ready for my wedding day, and instead, this added unnecessary stress to an already emotional and important time. Picked it up a week later, and it looked good. The first day I wore the pants, I realized that someone had ripped the hem out of the left pant leg. When examining it, I determined that the hem had to have been ripped out because there wasn't any stray thread. I had also never had a problem with the hem. My only conclusion was that someone at the tailor ripped out the hem and then realized that I only needed work done in the zipper. I took the pants back to see if they would fix the hem. The owner instantly became defensive. She flat out refused to do anything in spite of the fact that it only could have happened at her store. When I stood my ground, she raised her voice and acted like I was personally attacking her honesty. Find a tailor who understands customer service.

Never had an issue with customer service (even when I was a crazy bride) and everything has been completed ahead of scheduled pick up.
