This past weekend I finally got a chance to try Olly Makes Bakery. I specifically planned my visit from Las Vegas to Bentonville, Arkansas to visit this gluten-free bakery when they're opened. They're closed Sunday-Tuesday. They're located in a cute Victorian house that has been converted to a bakery, with a few rooms converted to a place to sit and consume your purchases. While there weren't as many options as I had hoped as only 7 baked items were available, I did enjoy the gluten-free & pork-free chicken, chicken-bacon and chive scone for $6.25 and a double-chocolate cookie for $2.50. The other options were: - $7 blueberry muffin - $6 orange poppy seed bread (about the size of a deck of cards.) - $5 sausage roll (about the size of a Twinkie.) - $4.99 vanilla funfetti vegan cupcake - $7 cherry seed bar (about the size of a deck of cards.) I brought 3 other people with me and while my food tasted good, there just wasn't enough variety and the people I brought with me declined to order. Also, to prevent confusion, this bakery needs to separate out the taxes on their receipts as separate line items. Currently, it looks as if they're charging a 10.5% sales tax when the tax rate is 9.5%. I have been informed that there is some additional tax to make up the additional 1%. It's unclear if this is true but having separate line items on the receipt would fix this issue. Nobody wants to be overcharged. Visited: April 2024 read more

I stopped into this cute bakery while at the farmers market. it has VERY limited hours, only open on Saturdays. the old house that the bakery is inside of is adorable. All of the items are gluten free which is what made me try it out. I had the blueberry muffin and a brownie. I would get that blueberry muffin 1000 more times. read more

I love this place! When I heard about this place opening I knew it was going to be my kind of place! First off, the choice of high quality ingredients is a big win to me. They use organic, gluten free ingredients that are free of any artificial flavors, colors, or ingredients. I appreciate that so much since that is how I try to eat most of the time. They offer savory and sweet items. They post their menu daily on their social media, so make sure to follow them! I have tried most of their items and honestly haven't had something I don't like. Olly is talented! They have a small parking lot with designated parking spots. The bakery is located in a historic house and the ambiance inside is so cozy and friendly. It is the kind of place you want to hang out for a long time, alone or with friends/family. The customer service has always been great. Check out this awesome local business! read more

SO GOOD! Muffins were moist and full of flavor, and BIG! Cheddar bacon scones were delicious. Staff was super nice and knowledgeable. Totally recommend. Prices were high but us GF folks know that's the norm. Totally worth it for this Montana girl! We will visit again before we leave, for sure. read more

I echo everything Brooke S said about Olly Makes Bakery. This place is fantastic! My wife has a gluten allergy, I don't. Let me start off by saying we're not even going to qualify by using the phrase "for a gluten-free bakery..." because I'd put this bakery up against ANY bakery for the quality of the baked goods, and it's got a whole lot going for it in addition to the delicious items. I had read some great reviews, and it's right across from the (fabulous) 21c hotel so it was easy for us to stop by. We encountered Olly's mom (boy, she looks young, and I actually assumed she was Olly because she was wearing an Olly t-shirt and I hadn't been here before) coming out of the place after closing and we had a really pleasant conversation with her, and stopped by the next morning. We had a wonderful time there. First of all, yes, it's all true about the chocolate zucchini bread, it's excellent. Moist, delicious, not too sweet but just the right amount of chocolate flavor. Excellent. May even be better the next day. Secondly, while I was sure I was going to get the blueberry muffin everyone raves about, the coffee cake caught my eye. It was also outstanding. Sometimes coffee cake can be too sweet, or too dry. This one hit the mark on several counts. First, it was the right combination of underlying coffee cake base and sweet topping. Second, oh that topping! I was tasting walnut, and a little chocolate, and a little espresso, what an awesome combination. And again, just the right amount of sweetness. Just wow. That would go well with some...you guessed it...coffee. We also had a savory item, some kind of Parmesan corn muffin, I don't remember exactly what all the ingredients were, but it was excellent! We thought we were going to take it back to the hotel room but it was so good we just ate it there. It was moist (how does she do it? Ok I will break down and finally say "for gluten-free, because they are sometimes just heavy and like cardboard or flavorless") and just delicious. Now, she doesn't have an entire fru-fru set of coffee drinks, but the coffee she does serve is excellent. And it's hot and it stays hot in the paper cups somehow. And the house is charming and relaxing and it's fun to hang out, they have wi-fi, and the seating is comfortable. So stop by, grab yourself some bakery treats and coffee, and hang out for a while, you'll have a great time. We did. In fact, we're going back for that blueberry muffin and to see what else she's got. All I know is you need to come here, gluten-free or not. It was such a memorable, pleasant experience for us. read more

The Olly bakery at the Bentonville square is CUTE! It's situated inside of an old home where some of the open rooms are available for you to sit inside of while you eat - of course there's a table outside you can eat at. I highly recommend following them on Instagram, for they are very active and posts what's being offered that day. I am extremely impressed with Olly Makes Bakery. First of all, the location is great and the bakery is a gorgeous house with comfy seating. Second, I was so overwhelmed with the amount of delicious sweets and savory treats to choose from! Lucky for me the cashier was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and helped me make my choice! I got the ginger blondie bar, a turkey bacon and cheese scone, and a double chocolate chip cookie. The ingredients are mostly organic and gluten free. As someone who has recently transitioned to GF lifestyle after discovering my intolerance, and I had yet to try a sweet treat that was genuinely tasty. There are even some diabetic and keto friendly options frequently available! It is wonderful to have a place to go where we can get treats without fear of being glutened. Hands down one of the best places I've ever been for gf items!! I got a blueberry muffin and a lemon buttercup. The blueberry muffin was the best gf muffin I've ever had-- and I've tried a lot! It was soft and fluffy inside with fresh blueberries. SOOO delicious! The lemon buttercup tastes like a mini cheesecake. It has a crispy crust with a lemon, pudding-like center. I would HIGHLY recommend this place for anyone-- not just the gluten free community. If you are gluten free-- you NEED to check this place out. I will most definitely be making more trips here. The only downside is that it's a bit pricey, but I will gladly pay if it means getting delicious gluten free bakery items. had a very rude experience at our first visit this morning. was buying an entire box of pastries- nearly 40 dollars worth- and the restaurant was completely empty sans employees. my three year old was ringing the service bell, and I asked the front desk employee if that was okay... she said yes. it beats him touching all the breakables as I tried to pick out pastries. as I'm finishing the transaction, a woman walks out from the kitchen, ignores me completely,goes straight to my son and asks for the bell. puts the bell back on the counter and walks back to the Kitchen. it was so awkward and curt, I could understand if the place were packed and I could have been bothering patrons.... it was empty. we were in there maybe 5 min? the experience left a really bad taste in my mouth. some of the food was good- some very dry which i know is common for gf goods. was very disappointed in the experience overall. if I'm spending that much on your food, please be kind and not curt with us. read more

Sooo good. I'm not gluten free and in my experience gluten free baked goods are not the greatest, but these are fantastic! It's in this cute little old home. The interior is comfortable with lots of nooks for enjoying the pastries. I swear I could hear Norah Jones playing softly somewhere--it's that kind of environment.
