She also mentioned they wouldn't be seating anyone else at that table for the rest of the evening. At that point, we had nearly finished eating and didn't want to disrupt our three young children by moving. More importantly, the situation could have been handled differently. Rather than asking if we wanted to move, it would have felt more appropriate for her to take the lead and say something like, "Let me move you to another table," instead of putting it on us in a way that felt dismissive. When you're spending around $140 on a meal, you shouldn't have to deal with bugs on your table. A small gesture--like offering a complimentary dessert or otherwise acknowledging the inconvenience--would have gone a long way in making the experience feel handled with care.
