They remove your flowers/decorations every Wednesday for "clean up day" but do not remove them when it's time to mow the lawn, they simply skip over that grave. read more

What a beautiful cemetery. The grounds are stunning and the landscape, you can tell, is loved and manicured by professionals. This is such a serene place with many upright monuments - quite a few over 100 years old. Some of the deceased have impressive personal and professional accomplishments (according to the net). It seems like these grounds are cared for by people who understand the importance of our loved one's final resting place. Honestly, my brother is buried in a cemetery in South Orange County (uppity uppity) and it is not even in the same ballpark as this cemetery. So upset and disappointed by how we were treated by Tony. The priest never showed up to the cemetery so we were waiting a long time for him to arrive. He never showed so we had a family member do prayers. Not our fault that priest never showed or that we had a late start. Before we finished we asked if we could sing happy birthday to my grandma(who passed away and it was also her birthday)Tony said we could sing while we were walking to our cars but that we need to leave right away. Everyone was appalled& in disbelief by how rude he was.He was even following family members to their cars telling them to leave. HOW COULD ANYONE TREAT MOURNING FAMILY MEMBERS THIS WAY? We let Tony know that we would be calling management to let them know how he was treating us and he said "please do." He said he was going to charge the family overtime. Yesterday we went to visit my grandparents grave with My and my uncle as well. Who's buried with them? I understand there's a family who also loved one had to bury them yesterday on Mother's Day waiting for an hour so they can move. It should've been really organized, but no cars are parked on different sides. It's too narrow so I don't know how people could not be considering to parking and one side just on one side so other cars can get to their loved ones grave to put flowers, because the fact they were hogging up the road or the street the little whatever it's called I didn't wanna be rude but at the same time they should be more organized when people are coming to bury the loved ones park on one side not take over the whole other side so no one else get their loved ones you know we paid too much money for my grandparents and my uncle would be there and for them to not have organization having people park on one side instead of hogging up both sides. You know I had a back out and back in it wasn't. I'm coming from far away. Just come get my grandma and grandpa and uncle flowers for an hour waiting for them to move their vehicles because they decided to hog both sides. Don't get me wrong. Hi i never ever write bad reviews but today I was really upset at what a staff member did to me by the name of Tony. My son is resting in memorial park and today was his birthday. Like every year I take him a small bundle of balloons and spend time at cemetery fora couple hours then the next day I go back and and clean the area up. Today Tony came over and told me that I could not have balloons and that I needed to take them immediately. I said "Why I always bring them every year and there's never been an issue?" I explained to him that tomorrow I will be back and I plan to take them. He kept arguing with me and when I was leaving he went back and popped all of my balloons. This was completely unnecessary and so hurtful. I would not recommend any one to go lay their loved ones here to rest. Tony is a terrible human being and I wouldn't wish this upon any one. We lost our son in March this year and a fellow bereaved parent shared Olivewood with us. Randy made the process as simple and easy as I could've hoped for. We were going through so much and we never came across any problems with the park. Even now with questions for our stone and clean up I.E. we weren't able to stop by and pick up our boys decor before clean up, we called Randy and he was so kind as to pick them up for us. I traveled from Washington to visit my father's grave, I had not been back since he was interred 39 years ago. I thought it would be easy to find, but I didn't realize that the cemetery is on both sides of Central Blvd and as we pulled in I was completely confounded. We pulled over and I went to the office, the sign said they were open on weekends, but I didn't notice that the Saturday times had the high-lighted parts scraped off. I knocked on the door and Sandy answered and said that they were closed. that they'd been closed on weekends since Covid. But this kind lady, when I explained my situation, took 10-15 minutes of her time (she was working to get ahead on some stuff) to find my dad's grave and then gave me a little map and directions on how to find it. I would give a 5*, except it would have been a lot easier (for Sandy too!) if there were a board or something that explained how to find the sites - I would have been seriously SOL if Sandy had not been there, and I literally flew from Seattle to Riverside just for this - that would have been an expensive whoops. I very seriously appreciate Sandy and the time she took to help me out, it was emotional enough, I probably would have had melt down without her help. I was there January 27, 2024 just about noon. I am adjusting my review as of today, 12/9/22. I want to offer my thanks to Randy at Olivewood Memorial Park for genuinely caring about the concerns and worries of families. I had a very positive conversation with him today and I sincerely feel that having him on staff is a huge step in the right direction for the cemetery. Randy seems kind and compassionate and willing to try to assist in any way possible without making you feel as if you are an annoyance, which I greatly appreciate. It honestly was such a relief after my history of negative interactions with other members of the staff. Whilst the problems we had were definitely a huge negative; I am hopeful, that with Randy's professionalism and input the future can be better. read more

Both my grandparents and uncle are buried in the same spot they keep it very clean and organized and sat there for about 3 to 4 hours on Friday and they didn't bother me they didn't tell me nothing I appreciated that when I got there I got to thinking why my grandparents why my uncle had to go but God had called them to go The anything I wish was at this place was open on the weekends as well because during the week I work and it's very hard I would like to bring them flowers but since they're not open on weekends it's very difficult for me I really hope they considered an opening on weekends or Saturdays at least just so I could go visit my grandparents and uncle to bring the flowers that's all I want and wish for read more

The worst place ever. They rushed our mourning and we couldn't even watch our love one go down and be buried we all have to leave THEN THEY BURY THEM?!? And you can't even stay here after for a bit. This place just wants your money. They invade our privacy walk in and stopped us from mourning. Who does that? Why not pull someone away and let that person tell the family?! It was an elder white man glasses with a hat about 5'4 and I will contact this place and let them know. I hope the owner sees this and makes some changes. I even told him and he laughed at me. We just had my father interned with his wife this past November 3rd. Randy was so helpful with the steps needed to be completed before the internment. He was kind and had suggestions about how different things could be done depending on what type of event we wanted. He was very compassionate. Others at Olivewood were also very kind and helpful. Every week it seems like something new with these managers. This week they say they had to clean up my sons grave because of lawn maintenance, mind you it was a Monday lawn maintenance is on Thursdays. And everyone around the cemetery still had all their decorations up. I believe the managers are racist it's all people of color around me and they literally only pick on our section. I drove around again today and still everyone's decorations still up. PLEASE AVOID THIS CEMETERY WORSE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! Also if it's lawn maintenance day why wouldn't they pick up the trash left around all the cemetery? She told me "sorry we don't meet your expectations" y'all don't make the cities expectations SANDY ! This place needs a new manager. read more

Laid my grandfather to rest on Wednesday afternoon and of course with our family being visibly distraught, a man told us that we needed to leave because it "would take 3hrs to bury the body and we need to get started now". My aunts and uncles (who had just lost their father) were visibly upset and stunned that a man would try and cut our grieving process. I understand you run a business, but the least you can do is hire a staff with compassion for those who are suffering a loss! I'm astounded by how rude an employee of a memorial park can be. Mr. Tony, el muy muy on a ballon eradicator power trip, is the rudest and most emotionless employee. Today, my family and I were visiting my brother for his birthday. All of a sudden, Mr. Tony approached us with "First of all, dogs are not allowed. Second of all, Balloons are not allowed". He got so close to us, during COVID, that my SMALL puppy was startled and barked at him (she's never barked at strangers this way, which paints the tone in which he approached us). He said he didn't want to get bit but continued to get closer and closer to us.. which made no sense? I understand that there all rules but the way in which you approach families visiting their loved ones should be meet with basic kindness if you have any. I'll include an outline for your future delegations of balloon eradication upon the memorial park: "Good Afternoon, hows it going? I'm ____ from the office. Just wanted to let you know balloons are not allowed for ___ reason. We also don't permit dogs on the premises . Enjoy the rest of your day." No, First of all and second of all.. this isn't a fight sir... we're at a memorial park. He really said "what would it look like if 60,000 people had balloons".. if you ask me, beautiful because it's our symbol of love and admiration. Also, there was other balloons around the memorial park that he didn't remove.. so make that make sense. * He took the birthday balloons as soon as we left but left the other balloons * I would highly recommend you chose a different memorial park with kinder staff. I think this is my second review for Olivewood Memorial Park. My dad's side of the family have a plot there with a large, beautifully maintained marker engraved with the family name. My father recently joined them amid the challenges of 2020. Despite the pandemic, the staff was able to give us a brief, but dignified and very meaningful closure for our immediate family. Beautiful cemetery with a ton of rules. It's like a double edged sword sometimes because those same rules keep this place running and looking great, but can bite you in the butt when you're looking for a little empathy. My father was laid to rest here, in the old section. It's a beautiful hilltop view, hidden behind the tall evergreens. The freeway is close by and the noise can get some getting use to (maybe there can be something installed to help keep that noise out), but still a beautiful area. The upkeep looks good but there are some sections where the grass could use a little extra love. Overall, no major complaints at this point. read more

I went to Olivewood to pay respects to my grandparents. The staff was so helpful in helping me locate their gravesites. We chatted a bit, and I told them about my family's history in Riverside. I have been doing work for Olivewood Memorial Park for several years and have witnessed staff members and grounds keepers going above and beyond to make sure visitors are taking care of while their. Today was no exception as I was in the office a elderly lady asked Sandy (Office manager)about cleaning a marker, the lady purchased cleaning material from Olivewood Memorial Park and asked Sandy what to do , Sandy went outside to a marker in front of office Sandy on her hands and knees in a dress and proceeded to show this elderly lady how to clean the marker. My husband's immediate family members are buried on the north side of the park. His mom was the latest family member to be buried, in August 2020. She was buried above his dad Irwin, who passed away and buried in June 2017. My husband and his sister finally got around and ordered a new headstone with both Dad and Mom's names, birth and death dates, to replace Dad's original headstone, since it didn't have Mom's name and dates. We asked for the new headstone to be set in in time for Mom's birthday. The office contacted my sister in law and said it was just set in. So, we went to the cemetery in honor of Mom's birthday and to see the new headstone. When we got to their final resting places, we saw Dad's original headstone, not the new one. Of course we were puzzled!? We texted his sister telling her what we were seeing and sent her photos of Dad's original headstone. She immediately called the office to inquire. We walked few plots around.. We saw his brother Fritz and grandma's headstones, which are in the same row. We walked few rows north to visit another brother David's grave. Ohhhh there is the new headstone on David's grave!?!?! We immediately knew the office had messed up gravely huge time!We again texted his sister and told her. She lost it, so did we too. How could the office make that mistake? Different first names!! And different dates of birth and death dates?? Brother David's birth year was 1963 and death year was 1988, while Dad Irwin was born in 1935 and died in 2017? Where is the common sense!?!?! How could the groundskeepers just take David's headstone and replaced it with Dad and Mom's new headstone?!? Could they have figured out that hmmm perhaps the office may be making a mistake? Since it had different first names (same last name) and different dates? We understand the grounds workers were merely following paperwork instructions. What's even more, when my sister in law first called the office and brought it up to the lady manager's attention, the lady HAD THE NERVE!!to tell my sister in law that no, they installed the new headstone on the correct plot! You know the quote "The customers are always right"... Well, they did not believe my sister in law on the phone! She lost it and told the lady manager that she would drive an hour to see her in person on the following Monday. My husband and I decided just to drive across the street and pop in the office. We met the same lady manager and told us that she had just talked with my sister in law on the phone. Again, she told us everything was processed as it should have been... As if we were wrong, as if we did not know exactly where my husband's family members final resting places!?! My husband showed the lady manager the photo of the new headstone on David's plot, not our parents' plot. After few minutes she finally asked my husband's phone with the photo. She took the phone and walked into the back room to check the names. I thought it was strange that she took my husband's iPhone and walked with it out of our sight? Anyway she came back few minutes later giving the iPhone back to my husband. She apologized for the mistake. She showed no shame nor remorseful facial expressions at all!! Sigh... at least we were satisfied that they acknowledged their mistake... They told her that it will take 4 weeks to transport Dad and Mom's new headstone from David's plot to their plot, and put David's headstone (which is still in the groundskeepers building) back on his plot. This happened today... I apologize for this looooong review... I'm still in disbelief and shock that this actually happened!?! That lady manager showed no remorseful expressions at all, except saying simple words that she was sorry, nothing more. I told my husband that his family up there in Heaven are having a good laugh at the expense of people with absolutely no common sense!!! read more

I really don't like leaving bad reviews but I had a poor experience here today. This is the resting place of my grandparents and I came to bring flowers for my grandmother's birthday. Drove all the way out from Anaheim to do so. I was struggling to pull the vase out of the ground to put my flowers in front of the headstone. I approached a gentleman who was leaf blowing asking if he could help me pull the vase out real quick. He said no he couldn't because he would get in trouble but to go ask at the main office. I walk into the main office and they proceed to tell me I would have to put in a work order to pull the vase out and they'll get to it when they can. I explained that it wasn't broken and there was nothing wrong with the vase, I'm just not strong enough to pull it out of the ground. The grounds supervisor said that they are very busy and wouldn't have time to help me. Mind you, my grandparents plot is right outside the main office. He then began to tell me the reason why it was stuck was because flowers must not have been left in sometime... which was an unnecessary comment and made me feel horrible because I do my best to visit but I live out of town and it can be difficult to make it out as frequently as I would like. After going back and forth and practically begging them he said he would try to stop by. He did end up coming to help me and I'm not even joking it took him no more than 2 seconds to pull the vase out. Then he told me next time I will need call in a work order ahead of time because they won't do it again. I just wish these people would be kinder to people coming to visit their departed loved ones. It's not cheap to be buried at Olivewood, and it's unfortunate that helping someone for 2 minutes with something so simple is such an inconvenience. I would recommend finding a final resting place for your loved one that has more compassion and better customer service. read more

Every time I see someone getting buried there my heart goes out to the Family's, as do my friends I've gotten to know on this journey!! My sons gravesite has been vandalism. I've had homeless people try to attack me, just trying to visit my love one my son, and than olivewood just leaves dead grass on grave and has weeds that the bees love the upkeep is not good at all ! I clean my sons and some of his neighbors!! All to say Just sometimes Sorry and we'll try to make it better would help!! I know there is a need to a graveyard, But it doesn't mean you or you company should take a-vantage of that!! I never spoke of another cemetery. This cemetery lacks common sense regarding some of its policies and the general design of the grounds is poorly planned. I have been stuck on more than one occasion because whenever a service takes place on the East side grounds you cannot move your vehicle (you literally are stuck) since the roads are too narrow and visitors do not follow the single direction traffic flow. Regarding policies imagine this! I know cemeteries clear flowers and of course they post the days this will take place which is fine. Most cemeteries will leave flowers that look fresh or recently placed which is also great, Olivewood is not one of these places however but that is not the issue I have. I happened to arrive around 1pm to place flowers after the East side grounds had already been swept and cleared. As i spent time with family at my friends site a grounds worker approached and explained that flowers would be cleared after he saw we placed not 1 but 3 arrangements for our late friends bday. I told him that all flowers were already removed and he said they are told to go out of their way to constantly resweep the grounds if any new flowers arrive!! WTF, are you kidding me? What kind of insensitive and absolute illogical practice is that? I was irate obviously so i phoned management from the site and explained the situation. Of course they have cowered and not returned my call. What a disrespectful practice, it would have been better if i was never informed. Change your policies Olivewood or change your management, both need work! read more

It's unfortunate during a time of grief and sadness, a business would make the process of burying a loved one that much more difficult. As with any other expenditure, one is inclined to compare prices and look at options. Olivewood was taken aback by this and were rude when we were asking questions in order to determine which funeral home my family and I were deciding between. Sandra, the general manager was always short and dismissive in all our encounters and would be hesitant to answer any of my questions. The overall experience and process of burying a loved one was already painful to begin with given the circumstances. However, Olivewood definitely made it much more excruciating. I definitely will not be burying anyone else on those premises and not doing business with them. read more

What drew me to the cemetery was looking for the grave of the famous court case of Travis Alexander who was murdered. When driving to the cemetery if you're looking for this grave it will not be in the big part of the cemetery it will be on the cemetery across the street. The cemetery is kept up pretty well. However, shortly after my mother-in-law was buried there in the new (north) section, we encountered rubber tracks from the riding lawnmower across her marker. No respect. No solace from the office staff. My wife went this last Christmas holiday and decorated her mothers grave site. Yesterday, being New Years Day, we relaxed. She went today to recover all the decorations to find out that they were all missing from the north side, most recent burial side. They were all piled up in a huge heap inaccessible to her to try and recover her mom's precious memorabilia. The cleanup crew cleans up the north side first and then the south side, where people were buried decades ago and there were very little decorations. This schedule should be exactly the opposite. Almost all of the grave sites on the north side were decorated and the grieving relatives are the ones that should be given the one day after the holiday to gather up their precious belongings. She went to the office to inquire and was shut down. SHAME on the office staff. A little compassion would go a long way! Their office mgr./ sales woman, Sandy? is rude and sarcastic and would be better served working for the DMV, not in the compassion business. Remember, after the sale, you have NO recourse. This cemetary will be the resting place of both my grandmother's and my aunt they have bought their plots already. I do already have one aunt and my great great grandmother buried here and just so recently my mother was buried here August 11th. I decided to give this cemetary 3 stars because we have never had a problem with them always clean hours are nice flowers stay about a week everything has been alright in my book until I came across Sandra. During the time of burying my mother we automatically knew she would be buried here amongst family. My mother was an organ donor. Well, with my grandmother, great grandmother and sister and i all standing there she, with pride, blurted out the word harvested not on one ocassion but multiple. "Oh so they already harvested her" , "so the hospital hasn't called and said they harvested her organs" , and we looked at her with this face of astonishment, like my mother was a freaking deer or something and we took her apart. When we would explain back to her "yes my mother was an organ donor and they finished RECIEVING HER GIFTS" she finished with "oh good good, I thought they didn't finish harvesting before you came here" are you kidding me?! The funeral director during the funeral was so considerate and very attentive since there were alot of people attending the funeral since my mother was only 36 she had many friends. Arlington mortuary in riverside took care of the affairs and Nicole helped us and let me tell you she was beyond amazing. But back to Sandra her dismissive attitude really rubbed me the wrong way and I seen the look of shock and stress in my grandmother's faces she takes this job lightly not realizing she is working at a place where compassion should be the key objective. I strongly suggest check all options before choosing here. read more

Customer Service is a disaster. Whoever the general manager is I won't name but that person has no knowledge of the memorial other than what prices they have. No knowledge of what spaces are or aren't available, always rushing people with consultation and making it seem like assisting you is next to impossible if there aren't more employees available. If you're the general manager and have been working in the field for 30 years with that experience having more than two potential clients shouldn't be that difficult to manage. The memorial is really bland has no peacefulness about it at all driving from the street would look like a nice resting place but I think otherwise. I asked for a tour and was told to basically explore by yourself because I'm the only one here in which 15 mins later 3 other employees magically come from back offices. My dad is buried here, there has not been a visit that I go and have been upset with the way the cementary is kept! EVERY SINGLE TIME I GO THE CEMENTARY IS PERFECT!
