Brandon and his staff took care of all our needs no questions asked. When searching for a mortuary, I visited several in Riverside. Brandon's was the final stop. Even though he had a service going, he took the time to sit down with us and review the process, what services he provides, and fees. No computers, book, or calculating was needed. He knew all costs off the top of his head and was familiar with the cemetery and church that we were considering. He gave us his card and told us to call him when the time comes. No money was needed in advance, no paperwork needed to be signed, and no pressure was given to select Preston and Simons. When the time came, he took care of my mother and family. He gave us his personal phone number and was always available to answer all questions. Because of him, we had a death certificate ready within a week, a service booked through him, the cemetery booked, casket ordered, and flowers ordered. Still no money exchanged hands as we were waiting on life insurance. He was aware of this and never requested fees from us knowing it would come the day of the service. The facility itself was spacious and offers an upstairs reception area at an additional cost. We used this for family and friends to sit together after the viewing and eat while waiting for the service. The space was well worth the money. Brandon's character is the true seller. He is kind and compassionate. He didn't make our questions or needs seem like a burden and was always quick to respond. He is very much an expert in his field and connected with his community. This is a place I hope I don't have to return to for many decades, but when the time comes this will be the place for me and my family. read more

I went to several mortuaries looking for the right place to handle my grandmother's passing. Brandon sat down with me immediately when I walked in and explained the process. He was very apathetic as we spoke. He knew the costs of all the servuces I had requested. He works with many of local churches and cemeteries and even knew their costs which I hadn't gotten around to getting myself at that time which provided added clarity. He was able to provide these figures at the top of his head unlike other places that had to look up numbers and get back to me. He knew the process and steps which really gave me an understanding of what would be happening and also in what order. Everything was handled with such ease using their services and it happened much more promptly than I expected (especially the death certificate) The service we had at Preston and Simons was perfect. Again Brandon handled the ordering of the casket, flowers, and memorial cards. He set up our flower display perfectly. Our family had previously enlisted their services which included paid copies of the death certificate. However, we never received any certificates despite our repeated calls. Brandon informed us that the county takes a long time to send the certificates to them. While I believe this to be true, they could have at least refunded the money that was paid to them for the certificates but they never did. Preston and Simons was a bright spot during a challenging time. When my dad passed away unexpectedly I wasn't prepared and didn't know where to start. I called several funeral homes in Riverside County but knew right away that Preston and Simons was a good fit for our family. Brandon was compassionate, kind and professional. Most importantly to me, he was very competent in his work. He helped arrange transportation and care for my dad, and we met the next day to discuss plans for the service. He was most impressed with the professional & caring attitude of the young man he spoke with named "Brandon". This establishment was reasonably priced & all paperwork was handled very easily via cell phone. My family delivered payment & I ordered some lovely trinkets to hold my Mum's ashes. I can't tell you lovely and perfectly warm and supportive Brandon was when we planned our first funeral when my father passed. We knew they were closed so we were peeking in the windows of the building trying to look inside to see if we liked it. He happened to there (apparently he's always there!) and saw us creeping around, and didn't have us arrested, and welcomed us in. He walked us around the place, told us the history of the funeral home, and informed us that it was the only funeral home recognized by the Catholic diocese. We weren't expecting that, but it was a huge plus for us because my father was a devout Catholic and he would've appreciated that. It was also the closest mortuary to the Riverside National Cemetery, which he'd worked with almost daily. He recommended a Catholic Church close by, another lovely mission building, It was an historic building and my father really loved that architecture and religious significance as well. It was smaller than we needed because we expected a lot of people, so we hosted 2 viewing nights and he was really really accommodating. Surprisingly, he was familiar with Filipino funeral services so he reminded and informed us about our traditional practices - like breaking a rosary and putting it in his hand.. He let us view my fathers body one last time before they closed the coffin, which my brother sealed. Another beautiful unexpected nuance of Brandon's compassionate support. Brandon was able to clothe my father in his dress uniform, even though my father was larger than he was when he last wore it. He looked so handsome, and Brandon was also able to make sure my father had the charming Cheshire smile he always did when we acknowledged an inside joke or he was getting away with something or teasing us. Brandon was the perfect mix of informative, warm, compassionate, and understanding through the entire process. From the minute he caught us stalking his building to the moment we left the cemetery, everything went smoothly and we felt so genuinely cared for. He was transparent about costs, very responsive (we had a LOT of questions), and thoughtful and organized. My family and I are deeply grateful for Brandon and his team. I only like to write reviews when there is something to hype. Preston and Simons Mortuary deserves the hype. My family has known them throughout the years and when it came time to bury both parents, we went to Preston and Simons. When my father died in 2009, Bill Campbell did a phenomenal job of laying him to rest--everything was taken care of and Preston and Simmons were kind, understanding, and respectful. Fast forward to 2023 and my mom recently passed away. We went back to Preston and Simons and worked closely with Brandon Anderson. I cannot say enough good things about Brandon and his team, who made my mom look like the gorgeous lady she was in real life. Everything was executed to perfection and a very sad occasion was filled with light and joy, which is the kind of person my mom was. He took care of the tiniest details, which you want because believe me, that's the last thing on your mind. Most of all, Brandon was kind, caring, understanding, and respectful, further continuing the legacy of what we've always known Preston and Simons to be. People should avoid this place like the plague. They have no concept of how to deal with your loved ones cremation in a timely or professional manner. They will string you along with completion times/dates and then give you some lame excuse as to why your loved one wasn't cremated yet. read more

Was immediately turned off by this place as soon as we walked in. There was a homeless person outside by the entrance. Once we opened the door, the carpet was disgusting. The lady at the front was a little rude as she told us everyone else was gone and wouldn't be able to discuss services with us. She allowed us to look around. The carpet was old, the building was run-down and depressing, and the place smelled like dead old lady perfume. If you love your loved one, pick a place that allows them to maintain some dignity. We only looked at this place because we heard they were reasonably priced. Turns out, there was a reason why. We got out of there as quickly as possible. read more

He was buried at Riverside National Cemetery. It was a very difficult time but Mr. Campbell along Angela were very sympathetic and efficient. They walked me through the process including the number of death certificates I would need. He was spot on on the number of death certificates and who would need an original and who would take a copy. Is it really that hard to fill out a death certificate with correct information? I guess so! I really should give them zero stars. So here's what happened... My dad passed away after being ill and in the hospital For over a month, which was very difficult for us. My mom hired Preston and Simons to take care of my father's remains. The mortician did make us feel very special when they came to pick him up. However, they messed up the death certificate. They left out the middle name, wrong birthdate, wrong age, wrong birthplace, wrong nationality-So many things wrong. And then it took another 2 or 3 weeks to get an amended death certificate - and, get this, the middle name was still not on it, even though we told her repeatedly what my father's middle name is. So even though they were very nice in some ways, I just Don't have any confidence in them at all To get things right even when they have the information right in front of them. I'm glad some of you have had wonderful experiences and I can't figure out why I couldn't get that too! They had every opportunity all they had to do was get it right.
