Brandon and his staff are very empathetic and attentive to any and all of your needs. We never had to ask for anything. They anticipated our every need. When they had learned that my father in law was a classic car enthusiast, they offered the services of their 1947 Cadillac Hearse. His friends all commented that he would have loved that his last ride was in such a beautiful car. We can't say enough about how well we were treated. I don't want to go back to Preston & Simons, but if and when I need the services of a mortuary, this is where I will be going. Thank you Brandon.

Even though he had a service going, he took the time to sit down with us and review the process, what services he provides, and fees. No computers, book, or calculating was needed. He knew all costs off the top of his head and was familiar with the cemetery and church that we were considering. He gave us his card and told us to call him when the time comes. No money was needed in advance, no paperwork needed to be signed, and no pressure was given to select Preston and Simons. When the time came, he took care of my mother and family. He gave us his personal phone number and was always available to answer all questions. Because of him, we had a death certificate ready within a week, a service booked through him, the cemetery booked, casket ordered, and flowers ordered. Still no money exchanged hands as we were waiting on life insurance. He was aware of this and never requested fees from us knowing it would come the day of the service. The facility itself was spacious and offers an upstairs reception area at an additional cost. We used this for family and friends to sit together after the viewing and eat while waiting for the service. The space was well worth the money. Brandon's character is the true seller. He is kind and compassionate. He didn't make our questions or needs seem like a burden and was always quick to respond. He is very much an expert in his field and connected with his community. This is a place I hope I don't have to return to for many decades, but when the time comes this will be the place for me and my family.

Honestly i feel like i got nickel and dimed...originally everyone said i could see my father before…read morehe is cremated and that it would only be $600 if i wanted to be there while he went into the crematory.....Well the next day after they took my dad i asked the director to see him and she said it would be $800...Well to my surprise they can basically charge you whatever they want for whatever they want because the advertised price for that is NOT $800 or $600 but $495...Not to mention the basic cremation price is $995 and i got charged over $1,600 and the only "extra" i got was the $100 plastic urn and extra death certificates, definitely nothing equivalent to what i was charged...Of course no response to my email inquiring why my price was much higher than the advertised price..They have had my dad for 3weeks now and last week said "well he should have been cremated today"...Couldn't even confirm if he was cremated already or not...I have called this place the entire time for updates, you are kinda just left in the dark about everything, i have never experienced service like this from a funeral home before.I guess if you don't spend $2-6k on a funeral with them you are not priority.Hopefully my dad is home soon, i should have done a lot more research.Horrible feeling to be grieving and getting taken advantage of, and for my dad to not even be treated like he matters, just another body..UPDATE Just picked my father up and he was actually cremated a week before the day they told me "he should have been cremated today"...insensitive people as well definitely wont do business here again

Conduct Observed During My Father's Funeral Service…read more Dear Mr. O'Connor, I feel compelled to bring to your attention an incident that occurred during my father's funeral services that was both surprising and profoundly disappointing. As I walked past the last pew, I overheard one of your staff members speaking with a woman I did not recognize and referring to me by saying, "Oh, that's the one." In an environment that is supposed to embody dignity, discretion, and professionalism, it was unsettling to witness what appeared to be casual commentary about a grieving family member during the service itself. Such remarks -- particularly when made within earshot -- create the unfortunate impression that private family circumstances are being treated as conversation rather than handled with the respect and confidentiality one reasonably expects from mortuary professionals. I chose not to address the comment at that moment out of respect for the solemnity of my father's service. However, the incident has stayed with me. Families come to a funeral home during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives, trusting that the staff present understands the gravity of that responsibility. Observing behavior that suggested otherwise was both jarring and disappointing. I am certain that the standards you expect within your organization are far more reflective of professionalism and discretion than what I experienced that day. For that reason, I felt it important that you be made aware of the situation. I would welcome your assurance that this matter will be addressed so that other grieving families are not placed in a similar position. Appalling...

I didn't know who to call, I had not done any pre-planning and needed to make funeral arrangements. My daughter ran a search on Google and started looking for services in Redlands. After having a terrible experience on the first call, I noticed Emmerson-Bartlett Memorial Chapel had all 5-star reviews. Their prices were readily available online and after reading their reviews we called them. We were immediately put at ease by the person who answered and agreed that they would oversee all the arrangements. We met with Christian, their Funeral Director the following morning. He was extremely empathetic, caring, and professional. He took the time to listen to us, offered sympathy and asked questions about my son to help us make decisions about his arrangements, memorial service, flowers, and reception. Christian was very thorough, clearly explained costs, and offered resources for vendors we might want or need. Christian made the arrangements to have my son picked up from the hospital and taken to the chapel. We were given the opportunity to see him prior to cremation, without all the equipment he was attached to at the hospital, when he passed. It brought us immense comfort and closure to see him at rest. Christian helped us with the programs, prayer cards, the memorial service, setting up the video, and rental of tables and chairs for the reception. I have worked in Customer Service for over 20 years, and Christian embodies everything that you would look for in excellent service. FIVE STARS is not enough, I highly recommend Emmerson-Bartlett. My family plans to return to do some pre-planning for future needs. During our time in meeting with Christian, my family was also introduced to Reyna. He explained she was in training and shadowing him. We were touched by Reyna's sympathy, helpfulness, and willingness to make our experience and loss lighter. I cannot say enough about the people, their service and location, which was spotless and accommodating. I greatly appreciate the comfort they provided at such a difficult time.
