Christina, the director was a very helpful woman during our time of grief. However, her subordinate who was assisting in the set up of the viewing and the burial, was very inconsiderate of our family's loss and we felt that her approach was very unprofessional , while also lacking empathy. During the viewing, which was one day prior to the burial, she began cleaning up around us as if she were rushing us out of the room. Instead of sweeping on top of us, she could have easily spoken some words and let us know that we had a time limit, or even that if we stayed later they would charge us. After the ceremony, the casket was not closing, when my husband was attempting to address the issue, she was very rude in saying "Are you part of the family? Is your concern the family's concern?" And began deflecting from the issue at hand, which was the fact that the casket was not closing. Once my wife told her that I was a part of the family her response was that the casket came that way and that's the way it's supposed to be, but we knew that was false information, we also advised them it was important that the casket closed. Navigating services after our beloved mother/wife/friend passed away, was made effortless with the help of the staff at Arlington Mortuary. Emily was first to take our call and her calm demeanor helped the day we lost our mom. Soon after, Alex took over as our counselor and assisted with all the details to make the arrangements possible. Alex made the process easy as we navigated county approvals, doctors signatures, cremation, priest referrals, memorial details, the transaction to pay for services, and the private viewing. She was easily reached via text which made it easy to ask questions (we had A LOT to ask) during the work day! She was kind, patient and respectful the entire time we interacted with her! We corresponded for two weeks as we neared the memorial services which were taken care of beautifully. We used their easels, they played our videos with no issues, plenty of tissues around and they respected our time and at no point felt forced to leave. They took care of mild cleanup post the services too. Carlos who took lead the day of services was very nice! He helped usher people in and assisted with the agenda. I wanted to leave this review to explain how upset I am with they how handled mom's service. My dad, brother and I met with Alexandra. We gave a photograph of my mom specifically how we wanted her hair down with her bangs. We gave Alexandra all of her make up, I put a nail polish in there that was a lavender color, earrings, necklace, bracelet and ring. Alexandra even wrote it all down and asked what hand I wanted the jewelry on. I was VERY specific. My mom is SO special to me and SHE deserved to look her best and how she would want to be presented in front of her family (as that was the last time we would see her.)The Staff at Arlington Mortuary ruined that for us. My dad and I got there at 8 am staff didn't get there until 8:45.8:50 They weren't even ready to set her up in the room to be viewed. When my mom was presented, her hair was comb completely back, No bangs in either a low pony or bun. Her make up colors were off. She had NO jewelry on AT ALL. NONE! ,(wondering where it went) I had to take off my own jewelry and put it on her. Her nails were the same from when she passed. It literally looked like she was put together super quickly in the 5 minutes they arrived that morning. I complained to the girl at the front desk. She said they could try and fix it, but they had already let the family in to view. If she was willing to fix it. Why wasnt it ALREADY done how WE requested? Why couldn't they have put in the extra effort.... Why didn't they follow the directions that were given. Then they wanted to cut into OUR viewing time to fix it. What they did was horrible. They had one job. The next morning my father called, and they told him the embalmer never showed up the night before and they had to get her ready quickly in the morning (while we were there). THAT IS UNACCEPTABLE. They could have called us the night before and told us how they were planning to fix the problem. I guess they didn't care because no one arrived early enough to take care of it. My mom did not deserve a rushed preparation. Words can't describe the feeling that our family had yesterday. I was treated with the most respect and condolence during my father passing. Christina Silva was on it. I made a call to here with 10 minutes she eased me of their Morturary would pick up my father, as I was in another state and wouldn't be they're until the next day. When they picked my father up since he was a veteran, they had a flag to cover him with, and the honor he so deserved. The arrangements and details and services they offered was pleasant as I was a mess. They work with you in your budget with no pressure. Please if you have a loved one please come here first. Between loosing urns, then the wrong urn, and having the absolute wrong first name, and wrong spelling of the lastname on documents, this has been a nightmare. We had our funeral on Nov 21st 2023 with approx 120 family and friends for my wife. At viewing time 9am the staff didn't have the casket out. Guests were waiting. Once in to view my wife we noticed not much had been done to her other than embalming. We had supplied the mortuary with a picture for the facial artist. We had supplied them with costume jewelry as well as her makeup bag with her colors. Her hair was pasted back over her head, just as she was delivered to them, no bangs, no styling. Her smile was elongated similar to "the Joker". Tthere was no costume jewelry to be found. Upon complaint, they offered to fix it during the viewing! Fingernails were not painted. This was truly a nightmare performed at the hands of Arlington Mortuary. If there was any problem, we were not notified. I only had one chance to lay my wife to rest, and I was stuck with this. The casket had to be closed out of embarassment. I am writing this not only to vent my frustration, but to warn others that this could happen to them at Arlington Mortuary in Riverside. read more

I highly do NOT recommend this business to handle care of your loved ones postmortem. First of all, we were overcharged from what the price we were given. Second of all, they will tell you they will call you back and will never call you back. And last, there are completely irresponsible with handling orders for the death certificate. Our family member passed away in March. Due to covid they were unable to take possession of human remains to cremate until May. It is now November and we have STILL not received the death certificate, and not for a lack of trying either. They claim to have reordered them nearly a month ago and zilch zip zero. We've been using them for decades, before I was born. My first experience was when my grandpa passed away in 2009, they were so sweet and caring. Then in 2012 when my grandma passed away. Recently within the past 3-4 weeks my dad died and I've never felt so loved by the staff. Especially Eloisa, she is a God send. She has went above and beyond for me during my grieving process. She is so sweet and on top of everything. There was a slight mix up but she made everything right and I'm so appreciative of everything she's done for me and my family. Wow what an impressive place. I stopped by this weekend to discuss arrangements for my cousin who tragically passed away this month. I was greeted by a well informed and friendly staff. I was given a bunch of great options and whatnot. I am not a rich man and they gave me options that were cost conscience and affordable. Big win! After consulting with a few other places (no good) in the area, it was an easy pick going with Arlington. This place was so much fun and i would recommend anyone to check this place out if they want a fun and exciting funeral experience. If I could give this place ZERO stars, I would. Arlington mortuary has put me and my family through a lot of pain. We decided to trust this place with my sister Paulie's funeral services. We described to them how awful we were treated with the first mortuary we decided to go with (Simon and Preston). We told Arlington mortuary how the other mortuary didn't communicate with us well and how they had said they driven up to Sacramento to bring my sisters body back to riverside on Sunday, but we found out they lied to us and never made the drive up yet until Monday afternoon. So we had to wait a couple more days then we were originally told, to be able to see and have my sisters body back home. Arlington mortuary said they would take care of us after this, but that was a lie. Cleo told me they were short staffed which was apparently obvious. Since we hired them 1/10/23 till the day we left them 1/24/23 they have had only 3 employees and still do which is, Emily, Alexandra and Cleo. Most of the time they are never in the office. Only Emily's assistant and the front receptionist, who were also really rude and of no help to us. Alexandra was the funeral director that was assigned to us. We had many many questions and 90% of the time we were sent to the reception staff to take a message, or we had to speak to Cleo but she continuously told us she couldn't help us a lot because she didn't want to "overstep" on Alexandra's client (When these questions were basic questions we had about the funeral) I have proof of emails of me reaching out to Alexandra asking questions about my sisters funeral and Alexandra not emailing me back for 3 days. In that time, my family tried to reach out to someone else and is sent to the reception to take a message. If our funeral director is off, I feel like they should have someone else we can speak to in that time off if we need, so that we can have our questions answered. We've never dealt with a funeral and we had so many questions, time was getting closer for the service day for my sister, which was 1/31/23 and we felt like we were only being helped when Alexandra was finally in the office. As if this wasn't enough for us, the mortuary damaged my sisters funeral casket that was delivered to them. This was the incident that made us have to switch mortuaries for the 3rd time. Me and my family ordered a beautiful baby blue and white customized casket for my sister. Emily had promised my aunt Michelle that when a casket arrives to the mortuary they inspect it right away for damages. She said they do not accept it if it had any damages. She was speaking to Michelle because my aunt helped us place the order for the casket, so she was the one that was going to know when it arrives. 1/20/23 is when the casket arrives and this is on a Friday. The only reason we know the casket has arrived is because we have a email telling us it got delivered. So I have to reach out to the mortuary that day to ask if we can go see it and inspect it ourselves, and Cleo tells us that she is the only one in the office on the weekend and she isn't able to take it out the shipping container herself. She said the casket was dropped off in the back and is still inside of the shipping container. So no one was able to even assess the casket for damages until Monday around noon. That was the time my mom went into the mortuary to go see the casket and the workers showed us a really big dent on the side of my sisters casket. To say we were devastated was an understatement. The part that made it worse was no one wanted to take responsibility. Alexandra signed for the casket with fed ex assuming no damages. We have proof of the paper fed ex provided to us. What was even more horrible was had the mortuary inspected it the day it arrived, the casket company said they would have been able to ship a new one in time. but by the time they saw it and opened it, there was no way we could get a new one in time for the funeral. We had to use a damaged casket to lay my sister to rest. Cleo was the one that showed my mom the damaged casket. I was on the phone with my mom crying and only when my mom started crying was when Emily (the manager) came down to talk to her. I feel like the manager should have been the one to show my mom the damaged casket in the first place and try to help her, but Emily never handles anything unless we have to call for her and demand she faces us. The funeral director Cleo Kelly is not very responsive in terms of returning calls or following up with emails. She also did what I feel is a bait and switch in regards to pricing, ordered a pendent on Tuesday was quoted a price then on Thursday was informed the price went up $25 dollars PLUS engraving costs, because as Cleo stated "it was an old catalog she sent me" off THEIR web site. then wanted to charge another $25 for shipping that the label shows cost them $9.65 to actually ship it out, beware not very honest or professional. read more

Death is something that no one wants to deal with and when it happens it's a very emotional time. I'm grateful that when I've had to deal with lose I've had Emily to assist me. She's been there for my family on numerous different occasions helping put my loved ones to rest. She's assisted us with 6 different deaths from cremations with services to cremations with out and burials. She was a literal life saver I don't know what our family would have done without her. She was so accommodating and knowledgeable. Every question was answered immediately and with certainty. She was always available and was always professional. She helped us every step of the way and was always smiling and pleasant.
